  1. Outside of Rodon, I think Marcus is the most sure thing in our system. He might not have the ceiling of a Tim Anderson but to me, Semien is going to be at least an average mlb starter for a long, long time.
  2. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 10:24 AM) You can be aggressive and not run full speed into a wall to try to catch a ball that landed like five rows back. Absolutely but I always have a hard time getting angry at guys for doing stuff like that. Obviously it's better for everyone if they just tone it down but sometimes a player/person is just wired to go all out, all the time.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) I'm a Michigan fan. Wanted to go, was accepted, but didn't feel like paying my whole life. Since I didn't go there, I've never felt comfortable trash talking other fans. Just follow and pull for them. You better not be cheering for Michigan when that SIU-UM National Championship happens in basketball.
  4. Good job per usual, guys. Not sure how you do it, I have enough trouble putting together a top 10 with out arguing with myself.
  5. It's still extremely early but that Peavy trade has the potential to be unbelievable for us.
  6. I think it's perfectly fine to be a big time fan of a school you didn't go to but I do think it's pretty bizarre when you root for that school over the one you actually went to if they were to play in something.
  7. QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 03:49 PM) Said the same stuff? I recall people like Jeff Van Gundy predicting them to break the wins records and everyone pretty much thinking they were a lock to win the finals until the season actually started and they started to look vulnerable. Van Gundy is a moron. I still don't think some people understand how truly difficult it is to win 72 games. I don't think that record will be broken in my lifetime.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 03:47 PM) Eh, would prefer they suspend Broussard for writing "SOURCES" for PR releases. Lebatard is who he is. Nobody should be surprised. I loved how after the LeBron SI story came out, Broussard tweeted something along the lines of "sources confirm SI story." Thanks Chris. And I agree about Lebatard.
  9. QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 03:45 PM) I happen to think that present day Tony Gwynn could still outhit present day Gordon Beckham. Please discuss. I'll hang up and listen. I laughed.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 02:38 PM) So remember when I was all "it doesn't matter if you have a rotation full of lefties, it's not like you ever want to face Chris Sale?" And the three pitches he offers are a 92-96 MPH fastball, a good slider, and a good changeup? And now the Sox have a lefty who throws 92-96 with a good slider and a (hopefully) good changeup? Yeah, get ready to face Sale/Rodon/Quintana b****es. I'd have no problems with 5 lefties in the rotation if they were all good. I never really understood the opposite mindset.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 12:53 PM) Kyrie is so f***ing overrated. We'll see now once he plays against the big boys what a true star he'll be. He scored a lot of points on a s***ty team that relied on his scoring, but didn't WIN anything. He's played in about 2 meaningful games (NCAA Tourney) his entire NBA career. He's getting rolled over by Rose and Curry at the USA scrimmages so far. People have a circle jerk about him because he played well in a glorified exhibition game. Yawn. I don't think anyone gives a damn about what he did in the allstar game.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) No way. MAYBE the last year with Wade becoming old man Wade, but no way from 2010-2013 when Wade was at near-prime. People completely undervalue Bosh too. He's a damn good player who was forced into a really weird role for those Heat teams. Wade has been old Wade for at least two years now. If Kyrie is healthy and is who I think he is I like Cleveland's big 3 better than Miami's.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) Don't forget Miller too. And maybe the corpse of Ray Allen. Completely forgot about Miller.
  15. QUOTE (Boogua @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 11:12 AM) Those guys definitely have more upside than what the Heat were trotting out there, but the Heat role players were more versatile and fit Lebron better than any of the guys you just named. I think that's fair. But if(huge if obviously) Kyrie is healthy, this Cavs big 3 is better than the Heat big 3 imo.
  16. So if they sign Marion that roster will have: Kyrie, Waiters, Lebron, Love, Varejao, Marion and Thompson as their top 7? Yeesh that's pretty stacked. Pau is seriously going to have to be our number 1 weapon against them.
  17. Good god Avi.
  18. And I'm with you guys, I don't think Wilkins is a long term option but he's earned his shot and I want to see him in the majors the rest of the season.
  19. That Charlotte lineup has been something else as of late.

QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) I'll probably miss him I would have punched him in the face if I were in the house but he makes for entertaining television.
  21. It's like having Rowand back in cf.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 07:36 PM) Yeah, this. Though I do like the Wizards/Raptors. Their core guys are still young as f***, though. If they take the next step, it'll be real interesting. I like Toronto but I don't think their core is good enough to ever be a conference title contender. I do think Washington's core can get there but I think they're a year or two and a transaction or two away from getting there.
  23. The thing is the Bulls are filled with ?'s too and not just talking about Derrick's health. The Cavs to me are the favorite in the east with Love. The Bulls being their one competitor and the rest of the east is irrelevant as far as actually winning the conference goes.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) That's because you can look at that 2005 team, look at stats, look at career stats, and can pick out some guys that were probably using. It would be far from a shock. Oh absolutely, I mean the great Pablo Ozuna was using so my whole world was destroyed after that anyways.
