  1. And Butler is broken again. Might as well just sit him out for the season.
  2. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 08:02 PM) Herm Edwards? See, it's not as easy as you think. Did it on purpose.
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) My bold prediction for this season is that Paulino is going to end the year as the 3rd best starter. Ya you seem to be in love with Paulino, I'm not there but hopefully you're right. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 04:30 PM) In the rotation? We're starting 2 rookies plus Danks who pitched like crap last year. IN the bullpen, we're going to have rookies somewhere and/or a Veal. We're also counting on a rookie CF, 3B and 1B A lot of things would have to fall our way for this team to contend. I certainly wouldn't force it by trading prospects, or rushing prospects. We're starting 1 rookie for sure, the other is going to have to earn that 5th spot if he gets it. Danks just by natural progression through an injury will be much better, no doubt in my mind there. And as I said before, I agree that it's highly unlikely that we contend in 2014, I was just responding to your worries from your last post.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 04:51 PM) I dont like full contact sports for children until they get to HS level. I especially dont like how early some of those sports get kids doing weight training. However, even as a soccer player I've had multiple concussions. I got one in HS and played 2 days later only to take another direct head shot that had me lights out. That's kind of a vicious cycle though. If you don't let kids play until they're older, they won't have been able to practice proper technique and that's going to make them more dangerous when they're bigger and stronger.
  5. As for the pitching worries, all I'm concerned about is the 5th spot of the rotation. EJ is going to be just fine this year and I think Danks bounces back big. And the bullpen will be fine.
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 03:49 PM) Lack overall depth, lack pitching, and without major improvement, will be undermanned at C and LF. Depth and catcher I'll give you, disagree on pitching and at the moment we are overmanned in lf.

    Alright begin

That post count has went to ss's head.
  8. The potential is there but a lot of guys have to grow up really quick. 2015 seems like a more realistic goal.
  9. And I'm not going to read that whole post from before but tanking in the NBA is basically always the way.
  10. Man I kinda just figured Kobe was a robot who once he got fixed would be fine forever. That sucks.
  11. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 11:14 AM) Local NBC weather girl Cheryl Scott is hotter: Agreed. Her I enjoy very much.
  12. Philly is 30th in pass defense and they should score a lot of points where the Bears have to throw a lot. And Cutler is just better than Cousins, I'd go Jay.
  13. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:43 AM) I bought $5 worth last Friday before it rolled over the last time. I won $2. I went to cash it in but the cashier misunderstood me and ended up giving me $2 worth of tickets instead. This time around I won $1. So net loss of $4. We'll take up a collection for you so you can make it through the holidays.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) Except the odds are much, much greater that you end up with lasting injuries versus becoming the best QB in the history of the game. Once again though...as a qb? I'm interested to see if they have any data on that Edit: talking about head injuries
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) You're odd. Correct but that girl does nothing for me. You also seem to have a very different "type" than I do, except Taylor Swift, we agree on her. We need to revive the hot chick thread.

    Alright begin

    No! Not politics!!
  17. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) Who was that guy who kept "breaking" that Floyd was traded to the Jays? He kept it up for weeks Don't remember the guys name but ya, I remember what you're talking about.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:05 AM) Is it worth being the next Payton Manning for 10 to 15 years, if the rest of your life is spent with scrambled eggs for brains, chronic and debilitating pain, and mental illness from your football days? How many qb's have had their brains scrambled? Serious question, I wonder how different the brain scramblage is in regards to position.
  19. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) My 10 year old son has played tackle football for two years. He plays HB and DE, was co-Captain of his team this year, and IMHO, was a TD and sack machine who was one of the best 3 or so players on a squad that played for his league's championship. He loves it, but I wish to hell he did not. I am very, very proud of him, but that Frontline episode was a game changer for me. Ironically, in a reversal of gender stereotypes, my ex lives for his football, and I am just a worry wart, p**** who never played. Even if I were inclined to try to veto his playing (which would crush him), I would be shot down, and the issue would likely end up in litigation. So I cross my fingers, pray, and open my mouth only to cheer for and support him. My dad wouldn't let me play football when I was younger but my mom was fine with it. Granted, I think my dad just didn't want to mess with my basketball schedule but still.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:03 AM) And both him and Wade b****ed after every single possession. 98 percent of star players do. Basketball players are just whiny in general.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 12:40 AM) The Bulls and Deng are apparently $5-$6M apart per year in contract talks according to Cowley. What in the hell is he demanding? Whatever, he's allowed to ask for the world, we just need to trade him.
  22. Definitely an odd thing to make up but who knows. I won't believe random people on twitter until it's confirmed by a credible source.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 09:08 AM) Was Lee's arm anywhere near Viciedo's? I don't recall it being that way, and if I'm right then if Viciedo could catch the ball as often as Carlos Lee, he'd be a much more effective fielder because he'd pick up some extra assists and he'd cut down on a lot of people taking extra bases. Lee had one of the worst arms I've ever seen.
