  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 26, 2012 -> 03:30 PM) You don't know this. We'll do this: if the Sox acquire a 1B prospect who destroys the ball in the minors, comes up for a cup of coffee and doesn't perform well, and the Sox don't bring back Konerko after this season, are you going to say that the Sox should bring back Konerko because "they don't have anybody good?" Like Tyler Flowers?!?!?!?!?!?
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 25, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) With all of the trade mentions for DeAza, I still wouldn't be shocked to see the Sox reach out to Figgins. If nothing else he could be competition at 3B if he can recover after getting out of Safeco. With out looking at the stats, I would guess that being the type of player he is that Safeco didn't hurt Figgins that much. He's just not good anymore.
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 25, 2012 -> 11:35 AM) Is Paulie the only member of the White Sox still around from 05? Yup.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 25, 2012 -> 11:44 AM) Does anyone think that Alex Gonzalez would be a good bench/platoon guy with Keppinger? He's coming off of ACL repair but is healthy. He's 36 but can still pick it and hit for power. Keppinger hits lefties much better than righties. Despite his struggles against Righties, Keppinger still hits better against them than Gonzalez does. Alex Gonzalez is a pretty awful hitter.

Had a brisket with my dad tonight. Hooray being half Jewish. Food is my least favorite part of the holidays. I hate having to stuff my face with crappy food because people will be offended if I don't.
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 24, 2012 -> 01:15 PM) Balta...I agree with you on MVP. Peterson has been incredible and single-handedly carried that squad. Manning's team was good and made the AFC championship with Tim Tebow. However, Seattle wasn't very good and while they have an elite defense, Wilson has been so impressive and has done so against better teams then Luck has. Additionally, RG III wasn't exactly on a great team. The Redskins have had very little defensive talent stay healthy and have a pretty megshift offense. Shanny has done a great job there. 2nd round, not the afc championship for the Broncos but your point remains.
  7. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 24, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) Ya man I'm workin on changing things around, I'm getting a swiss ball, some protein, and my p90x back from my brother tomorrow so I'm gonna get my health back on track and that will be ultra rewarding to me. My weight has been ridiculous this year, I was at 265 back in Feb and then I got in this funk and now I'm back up to ...gulp...315...and that was a week ago, I'm sure with the holidays Ill be up to 320 before I start workin out again. That's just the tip of the iceberg though when it comes to why I'm so down, but I know I have the power to change it all and I feel good about 2013 being the year I get it all together. Smoking is another thing I'm trying to get rid of because like you said it controls me. My problem is I don't have a car anymore and the few people that are down to pick me up all smoke. I tried quitting awhile ago but I got 2 weeks in and just hated staying in the house and being alone so I just said f*** it...I still see that its holding me back though and it's something I need to do, at the very least until I find a job. I know I control my depression, I know I can beat it. I've never had depression issues so I don't know what you're going through but I have been over weight before and it's amazing what getting in shape will do for you mentally. So rewarding.
  8. QUOTE (rowand's rowdies @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 11:57 AM) If you watched that DBacks team this past season you would know how silly everything you just said sounds and realize I am right. I know the numbers sound crazy, but ask anyone who watched the Dbacks last year and they will tell you hitting .050 higher with an extra 10 hrs and 30 rbis was definitely possible. He was hitting .298 July 26th before the slide started. 90 games in. He had only 18 RBIs after July 25th, with 72 RBIs in the first 90 games. He had only 8 HRs after July 26th, with 22 HRs in the first 90 games. 90 games is a pretty good sample size, so he was on pace to hit around .300 sustaining the first 90 games. On pace to hit 128 RBIs sustaining that pace for 160 games. On pace to hit 39 HRs sustaining that pace for 160 games. With better protection that a slumping sophomore strike out king in Goldy, a streaky catcher for 10 games or whatever, and a super streaky hill for up to 10 games, or just keeping the pace he was at, he hits .300/39/128... You're being pretty ridiculous to try and make your point because there's literally nothing to back up your argument. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Dec 23, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) Please Rick Hahn, get off your lazy ass and do something already. You're embarrassing us. Or at least me. And this is just absurd.
  9. Championship week begins tonight. Me: Brees Andre Johnson VJax Skittles Gore Alfred Morris Tony g Justin tucker Texans d Opponent: Matt Ryan Julio jones Miles Austin Arian foster Demarco murray Greg Olsen Cecil shorts Shayne graham Bears d My team is so much better but he has huge matchup advantages this week.
  10. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 03:14 PM) Once again depending on how the Sox view Sanchez I'd def make a Kubel for Ramirez trade. Then use Dayan to upgrade at 3B/SS/2B/C or SP then use Floyd to upgrade at one of those positions. In that scenario you all of a sudden go from 2 LH bats to 4 (Sanchez is a switch hitter). Yuck on Alexei for Kubel.
  11. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) George Ofman ‏@georgeofman Here are Kubel's numbers at the cell. 133 AB,.270, 14HR, 41RBI. Triple the ABs and see what you get. https://twitter.com/georgeofman Hooray sample sizes.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 01:08 PM) I'd rather dump Viciedo than platoon him. He's a sub-25 year old player who we're trying to develop, taking away 2/3 of his at bats might win the team an extra game or two next year, but it's going to hinder him maxing out his ability. Absolutely.
  13. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Dec 22, 2012 -> 11:03 AM) Pathetic. Why is everybody in a hurry to trade Rios? At this point, he's our best player and his contract is fair to good. Because he hasn't put back to back good seasons together since 07 and 08. It's a fairly safe bet that Alex will have a significant drop off in production from 2012 to 2013.
  14. I'm certainly not Indiana's biggest fan but their defense has actually been pretty good so far this year. Like I've said before, they're definitely in the top tier of teams but they're not above it.
  15. Blum, Ozuna, Harris, Widger.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) Im sure im not the only one that has had to wiggle out from under a barbell on the bench. Oh ya, definitely been there. It's never happened to me at a public gym but it has happened to me on more than one occasion on the bench I had at my old house.
  17. I'm off work today and awake before 7 AM, what the f***? I guess I am getting old.
  18. Will always love the guy and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
  19. Will always love AJ but it was time to move on. Yes, the catchers spot of 2013 wont produce like it did in 2012 but I'm not so sure that the AJ Pierzynski of 2013 will outproduce the Tyler Flowers of 2013.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 11:00 AM) i think you're right, but only to a point. people don't get to looking like fitness models by eating whatever the hell they want whenever they want it as long as they hit their macros. i think it's a gradient, and the more specific you are, the better your results. HOWEVER, we're talking about only the elite of the elite. For the average person just looking to get in better shape and lower their risk of illness and injury, you're probably right. If you're just trying to Change how you look it doesn't matter what you eat if you're hitting your macros. The problem with that is its nearly impossible to hit your macros by eating s***ty food.
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 18, 2012 -> 03:54 AM) Best heel ever in the 80's to mid 90's. I didn't get to watch that time period but from the mid 90's on, he's bored the hell out of me.
  22. Am I the only one who never thought Flair was entertaining?
  23. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 05:17 PM) I know this is one of those responding to absurdity with violence type things, but here we agree. These are vile, evil people and while I know it's an animalistic response, I'll make an exception in their case. These people need to be disposed of, violently. Ya add me to that list. If they showed up at a funeral I was at, I'd end up in jail.
  24. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 05:06 PM) You missed Brees, Schaub, the cat with the Lions whose name escapes me, Dalton and Rivers. Jay is in that group somewhere with Eli. Payton, Brees, Rogers and Brady are in their own league. Newton, Kapernick, Wilson, RG3 and Luck have not accomplished anything in the NFL to warrant putting them higher than Cutler. Jay Cutler is comparably to Ben Rothlisberg except the Steelers put him in a system while the Bears are clueless on offense. Rivers is terrible now a days and Stafford just isn't good.
