QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 10:45 PM) Obviously with Rose you're sharing that with like a million other people, but that probably never stopped anyone from buying Jordan's jersey. Sale is a nice pick...I like that....I bought my Danks jersey before he ever pitched for us and it's been pretty cool having that throughout his entire mlb career with us...especially the first year when people still didn't really know who he was. Ya it's funny what you brought up with Rose cause I'm the type of person that almost always buys unique jerseys(never had a PK or Buehrle and had a Damaso Marte gray) but Derrick is one of those special players that I feel like I need a jersey of. And ya I've had a man crush on Sale since I saw him throw a baseball for the first time.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 10:32 PM) Oh, you mean THAT Rose...I was thinking strictly White Sox players...sorry. Haha indeed. All sports...

Might get a few fun answers here: I'm going to be re-starting my jersey collection here soon and was debating on the first two that I should buy. Right now I'm thinking Rose and Sale. Any suggestions?

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) If nothing else, it appears that he's trying. Yup. This certainly can't be a bad thing but I'll wait to see him hit a baseball before I get excited. Definitely happy to see that he worked hard this offseason though.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 27, 2012 -> 05:55 PM) When's the deadline? If I have the time I might join just to arbitrarily stick IU in teh final four because it's been too long since I did that. Thursday the 15th at about 11.

I was somehow able to manage my whole work schedule around MM. Got the Thursday and Friday of the first week off. Money. -
That game nicely summed up LeBrons career so far.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) You guys going to want a March Madness sub forum again? Do we want to put conference tourney stuff in there? I don't remember what we did before as far as that. Horizon League is the first to begin on the 28th. I was actually just going to start bugging you about that. I love the sub forum, very necessary imo. And yes we always open it when the conference tournys start. -
Haha Derrick no like to dance.

Nicki Minaj needs to go away.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 03:02 PM) they are both extremely talented, but some of the criticism is fair in my mind. The biggest question with griffin is the fact that you simply haven't seen him in a pro offense. Can he make all the throws? In college, it was obvious he could throw the deep ball with the best of them, but what is his accuracy like in the intermediate game from the pocket? Its the same questions that faced Tebow and Newton coming out of college...Newton wasn't ever really asked to do it in college, but now its obvious he was more than capable of it. Tebow, not so much. Griffin hasnt really been asked to do it, but can he? The fact that he didn't throw at the combine won't really answer those questions, but teams will draft him on the upside regardless IMO luck is much more of a guarantee to be a very solid NFL QB. He reminds me alot of Philip Rivers - big, athletic, quick release, not the greatest arm in the world but super accurate and able to throw from the pocket in an NFL style offense. Is he going to make the throws Peyton, Rodgers, Stafford and Cutler can make? Probably not. But neither can alot of very, very good QBs. I think the criticism lies in the fact that since last year the media hype around him has been immense and people were saying he was the best QB prospect since peyton (which is probably not true), and hes got so much pressure to fill Mannings shoes. I still wholeheartidly believe Luck is the best qb prospect since Manning.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 11:51 AM) These articles are such sour grapes. Hearings are like sports, you either win or you lose. MLB lost, Braun is innocent. You can vehemently disagree that the Cardinals are the World Series Champs because you believe the Rangers were better, but the Cardinals are the Champs. Ummm...what?

LBSU would actually be a real interesting case if they somehow don't win the Big West tourny. They've really beaten nobody but they also played the most insane ooc schedule ever. I personally think they're better than most of these bubble teams but I couldn't put them in because they haven't beaten anyone. Intriguing case... -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 01:51 PM) Apparently I jinxed UNM. Lost two in a row now. Looks to me now like Big 12 has 5 locked and a 6th (Texas) on the bubble (leaning out). Big 10 with 6 locked (Purdue clinched Saturday) plus NU on the bubble (also leaning out IMO). Big East, people are saying 9, but I think its 8. I don't see UConn and WV both making it, and I am not even sure about USF. SEC 2 locked, with Vandy and 'Bama on the bubble. ACC 3 locked, UVA on the bubble (leaning in), NC State on the bubble (leaning out), and Miami with a long-shot chance if they win out. MWC 3 locked, might get a fourth if one of TCU or CSU wins out but I doubt it. PAC-12 has only Cal locked, with Wash, AZ and Oregon all on the bubble, I'd guess 2 of those make it. WCC with 3 teams all with high odds, but one could drop out. A-10 is a cluster-f***, Temple and St Louis are in but there are 3 or 4 other teams that might sneak in too. MVC with 2 in, and UNI on the bubble. Horizon, WAC, Colonial and Summit could all sneak in an at-large bid based on how their tournaments fall out. Love this time of year for basketball. Agreed on the big 12. I actually think NU is leaning in but that can be argued forever. UConn had a good enough non con where they should get in, WVU is definitely in trouble. Vandy is in. Bama is an interesting case cause of their suspensions, not sure what the committee will do with them UVA is prolly in, agreed on the other 2 Agreed on the MWC Agreed on the pac 12 I'm not going through every team in the a10...clusterf*** describes it well. UNI isn't getting an at large. Horizon isn't getting an at large, Cleveland State had a shot but they blew it. Nevada had their shot at Iona but they aren't getting one either. The caa ooc is pretty bad but I got a hunch they'll get an at large. And ORU is a really good team but they aren't getting an at large either. Then you have Murray who is a lock, Southern Miss and Memphis who are prolly in with UCF having a shot. Harvard would be bubblicious if they don't win the ivy. That's just off the top of my head, I'm probably missing a few conferences. Forgot about LBSU who is chilling on the bubble as well. Can't wait for half the s16 to be mids this year... -
Andrew Luck is sicknasty as is RG3. Those are two uber talented dudes.

[Theyquote name=Rex Hudler' date='Feb 25, 2012 -> 08:25 PM' post='2552846] Evansville beat Creighton and took them to OT at their place so they can beat them. Then again, reality may set in for both teams and it may end up a 12 point Bluejay victory. Then again, beating Missouri State the third time will be no easy task. As much as I love the Aces, I think they caught a break with the seeding tiebreaker. No one can convince me they are the 3rd best team in the Valley. What I do like about this team is they never quit and have a lot of heart. They caught a break with their seeding I suppose but they definitely didn't catch a break with their opponent. -

In all honesty the winner of UE-MSU can give CU some problems in the semis. And I wouldn't be shocked if after InSU is done spanking us if they play a nailbiter with the Shocks. -

QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Feb 25, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) I made one error in my prediction for the MVC seedings the other day. Missouri State finished ahead of Drake in 6th, where I had them reversed. That means Evansville will have to play Missouri State back to back and beat them for a 3rd time to move on. Considering both games went to OT, that will be a tall order. MVC Tourney Bracket Don't post that, it's depressing. -
Is there any player in MLB history that stays around the same weight from last season coming into spring training?
-
I hate the spring fluff as much as anyone but if Sale can stay healthy he's going to be an absolute stud. Kid is loaded with talent.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 23, 2012 -> 03:36 PM) Agreed but I just feel they are the hottest team by far in the conference now. They are but that can certainly change in 2 weeks. It will most definitely be WSU or CU though. I could see MSU, InSU or UE beating one of them but not both on back to back days. There would have to be complete chaos for a team other than the Shockers or Jays to win imo.
