  1. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) What do the Jays gain from this if Frasor and Jackson are both Type B. They are taking on a boatload of salary too. Neither team really gains anything. This trade makes 0 sense.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 10:51 PM) Jason Frasor is pretty good. He can help them this year. Not only that, they dump Mark Teahen. I can't believe your boy may make his best trade in a while and you are thinking about tearing down your shrine to him. Probably because it'd be a pure salary dump and a horrendous trade(unless that prospect is legit).
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) No, I'm saying that if anyone was to know of this going down before it's announced, it's the players involved. Frasor finds out, tells a friend/family member they're coming home...and maybe bucket is that guy. Bucket's been a legit poster on this site and has never posted crap like this before. Fair enough.
  4. Unless this involves Matty being moved for Rasmus...? Who knows, I wont believe this until it's confirmed so I'll just keep on speculating as well.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:47 PM) bingo! Are you confirming this?
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 10:36 PM) Frasor went to SIU, yes? Ya.
  7. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 06:18 PM) I have a hard time believing Alex would be in the lineup tonight if they had plans of dumping him tomorrow, Correct. If someone was traded from our big club it's EJax or Thornton, no one that's currently still in the lineup.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) IF he isn't being called up tonight, couldn't that just mean, he's being called up "tomorrow"? I suppose he could be getting dealt, but for what? Him alone isn't exactly going to land us anything that would make this club much better. Throw in for a bigger deal including EJax or Matty? Who knows, all crazy speculation at this point.
  9. Seems really out of the blue to call him up right now. Someone has to be hurt or traded or waived or something I would think.
  10. Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal Source: #WhiteSox slashing payroll. Jackson should be first to go. Explanation here: yardbarker.com/blog/mlbbuzz/w… #tradedeadline #MLB
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) This is getting ugly. Bengals owner Mike Brown finally acknowledged Tuesday that Carson Palmer has retired from football. Palmer would be willing to play if the Bengals traded him, but Brown reiterated that won't happen. "Carson signed a contract, he made a commitment," said Brown. "He gave us his word. ... We expected him to perform here. If he is going to walk away from his commitment we aren’t going to reward him for doing it." It's nice to see Brown finally concede the obvious, but it doesn't mean he's any less stubborn. It's a shame for a player with 2-3 halfway decent seasons left. Palmer was horrendous last year.
  12. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) I predicted this would happen somewhere else. I also thinks it's too soon. I think the WWE did it though because of the support Punk has gotten. I see him losing at SummerSlam. No way Super Cena loses twice to the same wrestler in the same year. Be nice if Punk wins and then changes the belt. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) It was his theme song for ROH Did not know that.
  13. We'll take over 1st place sometime in August only to lose the division in September.
  14. They obviously wanted Punk-Cena for Summerslam which is fair but I agree that they're jumping around a bit here with their angles. Happy Punk is back though.
  15. The "I am Drunk" thread is probably more appropriate but since I'm sober now, I'll put it here: Country Thunder is absolute amazingness.
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 02:47 PM) When healthy Tony P was a versatile pitcher and effective. But, you could see earlier this year he was hurting. I don't expect him back in 2012 either healthy or nor He was?
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Suprised you included Richard. Quite the product of the ballpark out there. A 5.30 ERA away from Petco stinks in my book. Ya, Richard is not good. Gio and Huddy on the other hand...
  18. Well there goes 2011, time to think about 2012.
  19. That trailer looked just fine to me.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) He is slumping at the plate right now, but still has 9 BB in 10 games. Gotta love how he can be slumping and still be productive. He's come such a long way in only 1 year.
  21. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 01:12 PM) It's amazing to me that people can look at this team, a team that's 8 over at 36-28 since May 6th, despite playing like s*** offensively, and say 'no chance, they don't have it' and then not evaluate MIN, CLE and DET the same way. Cleveland is 30-35 since then. Detroit is 36-27 since then, a half game better than the Sox. Minnesota is 33-33 since then. Nobody "has it". Nobody is running away with this thing. The Sox will be within 5 games all season. It is right there if they can ever wake up and take it. And still under .500 on the season so who cares what these teams have done since May 6th, that's just a random date to throw out there to make this team look better than they are. You're right about one thing, the Sox will be within 5 games probably all the way until the end but they wont win this division. Should they? Absolutely. Will they? Nope, not happening.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 09:28 AM) I think Jeter's ESPNization as a national product really lead to a backlash from people who hate the Yankees, which is pretty much everyone outside of NYC and transplanted NYers. Yup. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 12:09 PM) Basically ESPN & the media have overrated him so much, that many people have underrated him as a result. He's definitely on the decline now, but he was a heck of a ballplayer for about a 15-year stretch. HOF lock. Yup. Perfectly said guys.
  23. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Yeah we can, but yeah we won't. I think this about sums it up.
