  1. Rutherford is the name that I think could make the most sense on both sides to kind of start a package. Once again, I really have no clue what kind of trade value Stanton has as he's such a unique case but Blake is the name that keeps popping up in my head for some reason.
  2. Why is Jemmye on these things?
  3. I'm all over this if the price is right(prospects wise). Dude's prime fits The Sox window and has a chance to make the team absolutely special in that time frame. It's an absolute risk but one I'm willing to take if once again the price is right.
  4. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Oct 3, 2017 -> 08:52 AM) I've got a lot of concerns about Giolito. I understand why the broadcasters are trying to sell that 2.38 ERA, but I'm finding it very hard to buy, as it comes next to a 4.94 FIP, .189 BABIP, and a staggering 92% LOB rate. The only positives I can see are the 2.38 BB/9 rate and the fact that his homerun rate looks about where it should be, or maybe a touch high even, which at least suggests he wasn't getting lucky there. That said, I had the opportunity to watch him live and up close when was in Lehigh shortly before his call-up, and from that look and what I saw on TV, I remain mystified that his stuff isn't leading to better results. The curveball, especially, is stunning up close -- but I guess that we've always known the problem is with the fastball, despite its velocity. He's an enigma; he scares me. This is all fair. That said, he's still very much a work in progress and he improved dramatically as the season went on. I wouldn't say he scares me as he was a 22 year old with mechanical issues that made huge strides as the season went on. But your opinion is definitely fair and valid here.
  5. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 3, 2017 -> 06:18 AM) So Sheamus and Cesaro attacking the team that took their titles makes no sense? I love people who read results, don’t watch, then throw hot takes. I’m more into a SHEILD reunion match vs Miz/Bar than Miz/Miztourage obviously. No Brock for next PPV so need that draw. Aren’t we all? It semi makes sense but it's still all over the place. It definitely seems like they just decided to throw the reunion back together to pop viewership or whatever but like I said, f*** it, I'm in.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 2, 2017 -> 05:38 PM) But, he had 100 more collegiate innings than Chris Sale. Like I said earlier, I didn't see him having any evidence of getting his S*** together - I saw the same sort of occasionally dominant run we've seen down the stretch the last 2 years. But on August 26, he went out against Detroit, gave up 5 runs and a couple HR. A few weeks of occasional dominance when the slider is on, then bad games he can't overcome when he doesn't have his best stuff. There wasn't enough evidence this season to determine anything. He struggled when he was going through his Spring Training period then went on a pretty damn dominant run before making a bad start which happens to everyone. If you've decided that a 24 year old can't improve then that's fine but I think he's close to getting to where he needs to be. This of course is all dependent on health which once again is a big if at the moment.
  7. Me: Reuniting the Shield like this is so dumb. Also me when they just walk into a room together: OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I'm a f***in mark. Sue me.
  8. It seemed Rodon started to get his s*** together after he got passed the Spring Training portion of his season this year. I think next year he'd really take a leap forward if he's not broken. Unfortunately that's a big if at this point.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Oct 2, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) I would agree. Even though Rogers said it was valuable, 3 years is extreme. Rodgers.
  10. The biggest thing for me is the rebuild is super healthy and might be moving a bit faster than imagined at first.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 04:48 PM) Yeah i'd do it too. We just have so little longterm assets and frankly in 4-5 years when it would really hurt, I don't see that contract still being that insane unless tv revenues truly crash. But MLB is the one sport that I think handles it. It's just a chance I'm willing to take. He can really make this team something special in the next 5-6 or whatever seasons. If that's the case then even if the contract becomes an albatross down the road you just deal with it. It's a risk, of course, but one I'm willing to take if the price is right.
  12. QUOTE (Tony @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) In regards to Avi and Stanton, that's surely something worth a discussion. Absolutely. Still not sure what a Stanton trade would look like but we have to look into it. Adding Stanton to an Abreu, Eloy, Moncada offensive core is f***in salivating.
  13. QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 29, 2017 -> 04:15 PM) They don't do surgery for bursitis. This was basically exploratory because they couldn't figure it out. There are only two bursae in this area. The biceps and subacromial. They debrided either the bicep / labrum or the rotator cuff. Good news, no significant structural damage. Bad news, no guarantee they found the problem. 6 to 8 months is a long time for not funding anything. I'm guessing this might have to do with his agent.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) If they're going to extend him they should do it now - pay more in the next 2 years and in return have to pay for fewer years at the end of his career. Ya, I'm actually all for this depending on the rate of course. Obviously if you get blown away by a trade offer you make a deal but as a ton of others have already said, it sure seems like Jose is worth more to the Sox than anyone else.
  15. Anyone that asks for the banner to be changed will be banned! Even if I don't have the power to do that.
  16. Ya, the Alexa-Mickie segment was money last night.
  17. I'm sure plenty of people will disagree but I'm liking the Enzo stuff since he moved to 205 live. I think it's the best reality era stuff going on right now. I will also say I have no clue how I feel about this Shield reunion that's about to happen. They're one of my favorite acts ever but to bring them back to take down a trio that consists of Axel and Bo right now? I'll see how it plays out but I don't know.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 22, 2017 -> 11:55 PM) I guess it's old school eye test guy vs. modern advanced statniks. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you because you've proven time and time again that you absolutely refuse to educate yourself but I just want you to know that this last line here is 100 percent bulls***.
  19. QUOTE (juddling @ Sep 21, 2017 -> 04:50 PM) There were no winners in the final three...I could easily see the case against all three. What's the case against Paul besides the fact he "upset" the jury? He was by and away the best player this season and bitter jury got him.
  20. I would have wanted to Paul to lose against basically anyone but Josh. I hate that kid so much.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 10:29 PM) Those eating challenges are just the worst, I just fast forward through those now Tony just digs himself a bigger and bigger hole in the phone But how did Twitter know that they hooked up already? And where was Camilla in that episode? There's always spoilers around.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) Wasn't his curveball supposed to be his best pitch in the minors? I'm not disagreeing with you on how it's looked for us, but I swear that everything I've read listed it as plus plus. From games I've watched him in the minors and highlights I've seen, it's still there and it's nasty when it's on. That said, it seems like he's having issues consistently finding the feel for it. I agree with what a lot of others have said, he's had luck on his side so far since he's been up but he also seems to have only had his good stuff for a start or two. Either way, he's still a work in progress but you certainly can't be mad about the results so far.
  23. I'm guessing Bobby is actually being held off tv until he eventually ends Dolph's schtick, makes too much sense. I'm still enjoying the Dolph stuff so whatever. I legit turned off the tv when Jinder came on so can't comment on that segment. And I'm sure Charlotte is about to get a long run. Hopefully that division gets iconic soon.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 19, 2017 -> 09:41 PM) As an outfielder, he will make a good DH Haha, I figured as much but figured I'd ask.
  25. That was a hell of a catch by Nicky earlier this inning. I haven't had a chance to watch as much as I like since he's been called up. How has the defense been in left? Horrific? Adequate? Who the hell knows?
