  1. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:41 AM) GIO! Heard he's a bum.
  2. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:02 AM) I think people are being a little unfair to Lebron. Dallas won tonight because of the way they shot from beyond the arc. Miami shot over 50%, 25+ fts and I believe outrebounded Dallas by a significant margin. LeBron certainly didn't lose the game for Miami, that'd be absurd for anyone to say. That being said, this is a guy who all the sudden is being compared to the best player to ever play and after being absolutely fantastic against the Bulls, he's back to disappearing down the stretch in the finals. Every time I start to believe that he's turned the proverbial corner, he regresses back to being a little boy when it matters most. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 10, 2011 -> 12:17 AM) All I know is this has been a fabulous series (like last year's finals) and it reminds you about why the NBA is so appealing, despite its obvious flaws, to begin with. Like Badger said, the Mavs won this game from behind the 3-point line. They more than likely don't shoot like this in Miami. So hopefully they have something else in reserve. I figure they need to finish it in game 6. If it goes 7 then Miami probably takes it. I don't think a road team has won a game 7 in the finals since 1969. To be honest man, who the hell knows with this Miami team. I literally have no f***in clue which team is going to show up. I wouldn't be shocked if they come back to win the next 2 and I wouldn't be surprised if they lose by 40 in game 6. With the talent they have, they're just so all over the place. Gun to my head, I'd still pick the Heat to win this series but I just have no idea. Oh, and all these historical stats really mean nothing in this series. Not a god damn thing.
  3. So I'm definitely more of a cat person than a dog person but I can honestly say that once I get my own place I wont have pets for a long, long time. Once the two I had growing up died last year, I just became kind of meh about having animals. I do still like the 2 I got but they definitely drive me nuts more times than not.
  4. Imagine my shock when I got back to my buddy's house from picking up a pizza and both Adam Dunn and Alex Rios had gotten on base in the same inning.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) He no showed the 4th quarter of game 4 but he didn't tonight. His passing was exceptional in the 4th quarter as all of his assists lead directly to layups or dunks and the Heat were running everything through Wade not LeBron tonight so he wasn't going to score a ton. Cmon now...
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) One more win and the Mavs are going to be my second favorite NBA team. I'm sure a lot of others will think the same. Anyone who can beat the Heat would automatically become a favorite of mine, that being said Dirk is so damn likeable anyways and very deserving of a ring.
  7. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) Lebron James has 2 more points then me in the 4th quarter the last two games. Ya, you had an off shooting night though.
  8. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:52 PM) I'm a people person. You have a pet person?
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) Don Taco or LaBambas? Many a night a burrito as big as my head fended off hangovers and put me to bed. Don Taco showed up the year before I left, but I took advantage of their cheap menu plenty of times Don Taco, I forgot you're old. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 03:00 PM) Rowand, I hated Wise Guys while drunk and sober. But then again, i got Quatros for free whenever I wanted it, so it didnt matter Ya, well in general what I said was the consensus about Wise Guys. I had it a billion times when I was drunk, tried it once when I was sober and no thank you.
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 02:56 PM) Do you have a La Bamba? They were open late in Normal. Not great food but my taste buds weren't great either when I went there at 3 am. Amazing how that works. There's a place in Carbondale called "Wise Guys" that was one of the more popular drunk food spots around but everyone HATED it when they were sober. Crazy stuff.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 9, 2011 -> 12:14 PM) Damn, I wish I was still in Urbana. A lot less people there right now for summer school and two Jimmy Johns close by. JJ's the best super late night food. See, I like JJ's when I'm sober, it was never really my drunk food of choice. Give me Pizza or Nachos(the SIU folks know what I'm talking about here) for that.
  12. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 01:25 PM) How much time does he have with the Sox? When will it be time to start talking contract? We have him under control for a while. Because of that, we wont start talking contract for some time, or at least we shouldn't.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 8, 2011 -> 11:42 AM) Well here are some of his ranks among American League outfielders HR - 3rd RBI - 1st OBP - 4th SLG - 4th OPS - 3rd 2B - 1st So to me that's a pretty compelling case to be an all-star. And Alexei is the best SS in the AL so that's why he should be there. We really should have 4 guys IMO (PK, Santos). That being said, I highly doubt we get more than 2. Honestly, because of the competition, Konerko is probably the least deserving candidate despite having a great season so far. Quentin, Santos and Alexei all should be there though I'm sure we'll manage to get 1 AS.
  14. Konerko has some stiff competition as does CQ. Alexei and Santos should be on the team with out a question.
  15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 7, 2011 -> 12:03 PM) I wouldn't expect you to like any of our picks, really. To be fair, the 2nd rd pick does seem kinda meh. But the other 2 seem like good risks.
  16. This is seriously Jared Mitchell all over again except Mitchell was playing at the division 1 level.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Is it in syndication? ABC family I guess. 6 in the morning today, that's the only time I've seen it on tv though as of the last few years.
  18. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) I feel like you are somehow disagreeing with me. Ha, not really. Just expanding on your point.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) Clayton Richard has been the best of those 4 that we traded, and he looks like a fringe #5 guy right now. The Peavy trade has really not worked out for either team, the only problem is we are paying him a ton of money. Clayton has a 5.97 era this year away from Petco and that's in the National League. And even in a "good" year last season, he struggled hardcore away from home. He's not good. I'm certainly not as big of a KW supporter as I used to be but that's a trade you make every time. None of those guys were going to amount to anything and everyone knew it, we took our chance on acquiring an ace and unfortunately he just keeps getting hurt.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) Adam Russel (now with the Rays), Clayton Richard (starting for the Padres), Dexter Carter (released by San Diego, back with us already) and one other pitcher I can't recall. Aaron Poreda. We literally traded nothing of value.
  21. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 6, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) That's the problem with re-building in my opinion, KW doesn't identify prospects well. I think we need to, but with someone other than KW at the helm. Ya, if we ever go into full rebuild mode, KW certainly isn't the man for the job.
