2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ May 22, 2011 -> 10:13 PM) Just got done arguing with people about Boozer sucking and being "the problem." I pointed out that Boozer had 26 and 17 and he made 10-12 FTs and I was called blind or drunk for not knowing that he was the problem, and someone else said it was the quietest 26/17 he's ever seen. I'm pretty sure that counts the same as a "loud" 26/17, and if his 26 points were quiet, Rose's 20 were muted. Seriously, if Boozer can get those numbers in any game in which Rose plays the way Rose plays, they win probably 80% of the time. Boozer certainly wasn't the problem tonight.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 22, 2011 -> 03:06 PM) Viciedo, 2 solo Hr. Well at least we have 1 real prospect... Seriously though, the kid is a f***in hitting machine. And if he continues to improve his plate discipline we might just have something special here.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ May 22, 2011 -> 01:07 PM) With the way the bulls have D'd up, 90-95 points should be enough. I keep wanting Boozer to go hard to the rim but he seems like he is afraid of contact. But did you hear his rap? He goes hard on offense.

Look, Kobe isn't in Jordan's league but Pau was never the best player on that Lakers team, lets get that straight.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (chw42 @ May 20, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) Kobe doesn't win anything without Shaq or Gasol. MJ needed Scottie, but I think it's pretty evident that Shaq is a more dominant player than Scottie and that the Gasol from the past three years is nearly as valuable as Pippen. And there's that stat of MJ being 6-0 in the NBA Finals. I was with you up until that part.

Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2011 -> 04:03 PM) And they were both off of........ You guessed it. JOHN GARLAND! I was at that game. It was one of the best ever. Who?

Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) I don't mind honoring these guys, but I think it's ridiculous that Jerry Reinsdorf told Juan Pierre to honor Scott Podsednik all season by getting caught stealing and picked off twice a week. How dare you forget poor lf defense. You disappoint me.

Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) This would be like the Yankees honoring Scott Brosius and Hideki Irabu from the '99 team. It's just a reminder to me of how terrible the history of the White Sox is where we have to honor Juan Uribe and Jon Garland. Well we're not the Yankees.

Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) AJ has to be in there. Everyone loved him that year. Pods too. True on both of those. It'd actually be interesting to see how this boards top 5 from that season would compare to the general fan base because it'd be quite the difference that's for sure.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) Yeah really. I doubt he'd crack the top 5 of fan favorites for the 2005 team. Not sure he'd crack the top 10. Hmm top 5 fan favorites of 05: Buehrle, Konerko, Crede, Rowand, Jenks maybe? Be an interesting topic.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 20, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) If you are talking about Stephanie McMahon, those are not true. Just urban legend. He will be put in the HOF next year and it will feel hollow as he should of been in 5 years ago. This f*cking sucks. All these people I watched growing up keep dieing. I was hoping it wouldn't be but I never knew for sure either way. Even though I don't follow too much of the current stuff, I still love to read about the backstage/urban legend aspect of the business so I'm always intrigued by stuff like that.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) Who is complaining? The closest thing to a complaint that I saw was Tex, and he already came around to the idea. This site is ridiculous sometimes. Even when there are no complaints, people act like there are. Tex and J4L. And as I said, I don't see how anyone could have a problem with it so my comment is quite relevant. You're the one being ridiculous here.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2011 -> 12:48 PM) He needs to have a show dedicated to him. I'm sure it won't happen for a couple of reasons: 1.) I don't think they dedicate entire shows anymore due to Benoit 2.) I'm pretty sure Vince hated him 3.) He wasn't working for WWE at the time But if any guy deserves it, he does. And I'd tune in from start to finish. Some vicious rumors about why Vince didn't like Randy. Who knows if they're true but if they are you can't fault Vince.

How important is this 2 game series with CLE
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:43 AM) That right there is 2/5ths of the rotation and I'm not buying it. Buehrle didn't have a flukish year. If you want to say Garland did, thats fine, but Garland outside of a first 6 to 8 bad starts was more dominant in 2006 (just look at the splits, once Garland started pitching, he took his ERA down). Contreras was nasty and that nastiness lasted as long as his back held up. Once his back went to crap, he went back to being mediocre. But post all star break, I couldn't think of a pitcher who had better stuff that year than Jose Contreras. Guy was unhittable. The fluke years were from the bullpen that season, not the rotation imo. You're right though, that 05 team actually had a decent amount of expectations going into the season, maybe not as much by the media but I know Sox fans(and this site to be more specific) thought that team had a chance to be real good.

Sox to recognize two studs in Dodger series
How could anyone have a problem with this? It's two key parts of our World Series team who make their first trip back to the Cell since 05. I think it's great.

Does this mean the Sox are trying to be relevant again?
