QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 06:58 PM) You don't have to unless you're a Florida fan or something. I picked Florida to win in my pool but I'm still going for BYU. I need the cash ha. And ya, Jimmer gets crazy at times because he usually makes a lot of these shots to take over games and win them for his team. Not his best showing today but he'll be just fine as a pro, he can shoot, has a good handle, and he can pass, not to mention he's strong as hell and finishes EVERYTHING around the rim. Anyways, I feel real bad for this BYU team, if Davies is healthy, that team really had a legit shot to go to not only the final four but the final game. Oh well. EDIT: For some reason I always say "if Davies was healthy," you guys know what I mean.

Makes me so sad that I have to root against Jimmer tonight.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) There are a lot of MVP candidates. Everyone has different criteria. But Rose is winning it anyway. Love watching McGee blocking shots on highlight reel. Now Griffin knows what it is like to be owned at the rim. Ya, Rose has this pretty locked up at this point it would seem. That was kind of an odd play, Blake seemed to stumble a bit and didn't get quite the elevation he usually does but McGee certainly swatted him good. That being said, Blake got his payback later in the game.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:44 PM) Yeah, I agree....Wisconsin might indeed beat them up a bit, but to say Butler has no chance seems kind of extreme to me, considering they just beat the Big East regular season champion on Saturday night. Nobody is going to "beat up" Butler, they've already faced two of the most physical teams in the tournament and got by them. You have two teams that play similar styles, with 2 of(if not the 2 best) the best in game coaches in the country that play at an extremely slow pace. This game is going to be physical and close the whole way, with the team that probably makes a higher percentage of their 3's winning this game. I hope it's Butler but this one is a complete toss up imo.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 01:23 PM) Wisconsin is the Big Tens version of Butler. There isn't a chance that Butler wins tonight. Badgers by a dozen. Butler needs to play a team that makes mistakes and takes chances. That isn't Wisconsin at all. You guys are on some serious crazy pills today.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:26 PM) I walked past Jimmer yesterday at the arena and he's a little shorter than me (I'm 6'2"). He only missed one shot in practice too. I hope they win, but I'm worried about the inside game. That was awful.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:15 PM) Who are we on tonight, fellas? Lots of my buddies are making big plays on BYU tonight, but I just don't know if I am buying it... With out looking at the spread, I'd say Florida just has way too much size for BYU and this is where the loss of Davies will really do in the Jimmers. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) Wisconsin by a TON You're crazy. That game will be within 5 points either way for sure.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) Cavic touched first, Phelps touched with more force. Pretty sure this has been confirmed. There is no conspiracy. The clock registered Phelps' touch first. And all the video evidence and digital images offer no conclusive evidence of anything. No. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedi.../content.5.html Phelps won.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 09:27 AM) Maybe Flowers will be the backup to AJP later this year ? Not sure why anyone would think AJP isn't going to hit? If we use your reasoning we had better trade Dunn right now too as well as some others on this team. Oh, I forgot it's Spring Training. Unfortunately there's plenty of reason to think AJP wont hit.

QUOTE (dasox24 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 09:02 PM) I have an interview with Boeing next week... I don't need advice on general preparation as I've been through a few interviews in the last year, but was wondering if anyone had any specific knowledge of their interview process or anything interesting about the company I should know. I doubt I'll get an answer, but just thought I'd ask... One of my best friends got a job with boeing right out of college last summer. It's a great company with GREAT pay to start. If you want me to ask him about the interview process I can do that as well.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 05:06 PM) I remember following this draft and being so pissed that Daniel Bard got taken the pick before us. I wanted nothing to do with this guy from the start. That's actually how most people on this board felt. Everyone at that time wanted Bard when he kept falling closer and closer to the Sox.

Steve, Gage, Milkman, you guys sound old as hell!

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) Sox announce new organist. Poor lady, replacing a legend is never easy.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) My friends and I in college pooled together a bunch of money in hopes to buy one but could not find it anywhere. We just assumed it would be a huge hit at parties. What we learned was no one actually got a piece, just a picture with it. Man, I'd be pretty pissed off if I won and then found that out.
-
Winning by a combined 73 points the last 2 games? That's not bad.
-
Ya, at this point it's pretty difficult to come up with a reason as to why the Bulls aren't the best team in the East. They just keep getting better and better.
-
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) That's what happens with a jump shooting team though. Not going to make the Final Four when your best players are shooters. A bad game is bound to happen. A complete jump shooting team that doesn't play very efficient defense is just an awful combination in a one and done setting.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Mar 21, 2011 -> 12:11 PM) So of the over 5.9 million brackets filled out on ESPN, only one bracket has 15 of the 16 sweet sixteen teams left (none have 16). Wow. I got a whole 8 of the 16 right but I still have 6 of my elite 8 and all 4 of my ff so I'm just as alive as anyone. -
Well I was right about ND losing, just got the team they'd lose to wrong, ha.

Ya, I completely disagree with you Kenny. Both calls were the right ones.

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 19, 2011 -> 07:23 PM) lol and I'm in the wrong thread, my bad. Damn it, because of you, I did it as well! haha

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 18, 2011 -> 03:56 PM) Sorry to bash your beloved mid-major teams, but ODU and Butler were both very mediocre this year. ODU had 4 good wins with 2-3 bad losses. Butler went 15-5 in an ok Horizon League and their only win over a tourney team is Florida State. I guess in Butler's case it's fair that they got a higher seed after getting screwed in the past, but that's not an 8 seed resume to me. I really couldn't care less about the seeds, that's not what I was talking about. To say they're both "terrible" teams is crazy talk. Low major, mid major or high major, ODU and Butler are both very good basketball teams.

Go Zips!

QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 02:57 PM) Both of those teams are terrible. For that to be an 8-9 game is a joke. That's silly. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 17, 2011 -> 10:46 PM) UCLA is trying hard to complete the biggest choke job in college basketball history. That was absurd, wanted to throw something at my tv, thankfully the Bruins held on. They're a very talented team but god damn they're dumb at times. Also, good win for the Badgers. Belmont wasn't outclassed but Wiscy made their shots and were certainly the better basketball team.
