  1. Also have to remember that GB was with out Rodgers for more than a game and a half. Decent chance they would have finished 12 and 4 if he played every game. Anyways, should be a great game, I'd give the Packers a bit of an edge but I certainly wouldn't be shocked if the Bears win this one.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) I see a clear separation between the Bulls and Miami/Boston/Orlando. It doesn't mean I don't think we can't get there, but I see the Bulls a tier below that group. Our guard play, minus Rose, is going to hold us back. Completely disagree. I still think some of our own fans severely underestimate this team. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 08:47 PM) Full strength in the playoffs, that Miami back court is going to kill the Bulls. I wouldn't be surprised at a sweep. No chance.
  3. 47 and 14 for Blake with 40 seconds left. Maybe he can take off from beyond the arc and dunk in a 3 for 50!
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 02:40 PM) I think Fox has to be thrilled with the GB/Chicago matchup, but I think most of the rest of the country would have liked to see someone other than the Bears in the NFC title game. Maybe New Orleans-Packers or Philly-New Orleans. As for CBS, I am sure they knew coming in to the playoffs that any matchup, perhaps with the exception of one with the Chiefs involved, was going to be a solid one. That being said, I'm pretty sure they would have rather had New England or Indianapolis involved somehow. As much as the Jets are entertaining, I don't think they bring in the casual fan the way Peyton Manning and Tom Brady can. Right on point with everything here.
  5. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 02:43 PM) And only one turnover. Great great game. Korver with a terrific game, too. And Deng continues to make people eat their words about his salary. He is a great offensive player and very very good on D. Rudy Gay just got owned. Today was the most impressed I've been with Deng all season. He was just absolutely terrific overall today. Anywho, I just want this damn team to get fully healthy. I can't wait to see our actual team out there at some point.
  6. Too big, too strong, too fast, too good. He's awesome.
  7. Finally got around to watching it last night, thought it was awful.
  8. So my dad just got my step mom a 2011 Buick Regal(which is gorgeous btw), I can't even say he bought it because he ended up getting a check from the dealership with the trade in of our 2010 Malibu. Crazyness. He also has a 2011 Corvette Z06 which I believe he's had for about 5 months now, nicest kept car you'll ever see. Pretty sure that thing has less than 50 miles on it though and that's not an exaggeration. He's a nut job when it comes to cars.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) Pretty awesome. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl-308250 I thought that was f'n awesome.
  10. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 10:20 PM) I agree, just thought it was a little stretch to say the Jets dont really have a chance against the Steelers. Agreed. As long as Sanchez doesn't throw the game away they can beat anyone. I like the Steelers in this one though, thought they've been the best team in the league all season long. Funny though, looking back on my preseason predictions, I actually had the Jets and the Packers playing in the super bowl. If that ends up happening, I'm going to be quite pissed that I didn't put money on it!
  11. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2010121911/2...alyze/box-score If this week taught anybody anything it's that you should just throw the regular season games out the window, they mean nothing at this point.
  12. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) I mean, was it really that long ago that Rodgers only put up 10 points in Lambeau? Ha absolutely not. And I've obviously been wrong a lot but I see Rodgers having a great game next weekend.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) Once again, FX horribly mis-marketed it, and I'm already hooked. The only reason I know about it is because I always watch "It's always Sunny" and "The League" on demand and "Lights Out" is very well marketed there.
  14. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) wonder what kind of game Rodgers will have against our pass defense next week A good one. Seriously, I've underrated the Bears all season but Aaron Rodgers is just a f***in stud, I can't see even a defense as good as the Bears slowing him down right now.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 16, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) Are we gonna have to admit that Rowand was right? Ugh You're my good luck charm. The two times you've called me out on a prediction(this one and Florida-OSU football NC game a few years back) I've had the correct results. That being said, I was completely wrong on the Falcons this week. Solid week for me in my playoff pool though, 3-1, keeps me in 2nd place overall and only one point behind the leader.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 02:08 PM) Can you spell out how the Jets are going to hang with the Pats on the field? I don't doubt you could be right, I'm just genuinely curious. Same basic way they hung with the Colts. Run the ball down their throats and play great defense. I've been higher on the Jets all season than most so I certainly know this isn't going to a popular pick but I really believe they're going to knock off NE tomorrow. I also still believe the Pats have a lot of flaws that can be exposed even though they pretty much beat the crap out of everyone in the regular season. We'll obviously find out tomorrow but I really do expect to see the Jets win a close one.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 15, 2011 -> 01:54 PM) Bart Scott physically threatens Wes Welker for his foot comments. If there is a team that has a mental edge in this game, it is certainly the Patriots. They are just ultra confident and calm and cool. The Jets are on the defensive and making stupid statements and talking a ridiculous amount of trash. I see the Pats winning by 17. Jets by a fg or so.
  18. Trading one of our starters for a reliever is just a horrendous idea at the moment.
  19. Confidence picks this week, they're an extra point since it's the 2nd round: Bears: 5 Falcons: 4 Jets: 3 Steelers: 2
  20. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 05:36 PM) I'd take the guy that averages the same number of points, THREE more rebounds a game and is a far better shooter. I'm not saying Griffin isn't good, but Love is simply better. Less Sportscenter highlights, but that doesn't make him a worse player. And for what it's worth, Griffin is just as bad defensively as Love is. It obviously depends on how you value those things, but let's not pretend Griffin is this defensive stud while Love makes his team suddenly give up thousands of points per game. EDIT: Of course, the site I just linked to thinks Corey Brewer and Wes Johnson are better than Kevin Love. So it's obviously full of s***. Love averages 3 more rebounds a game but Griffin basically does everything else better. Like I said, it's really freakin close if you're just looking at this season alone. If you're building a team and you need to pick one of them, it's a no brainer, you're taking Mr. Griffin.
  21. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) Someone I know just posted this to facebook: ‎ Logged on to facebook and saw that posted twice. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) I am so tired of people who haven't cared about the Bears all year posting on FB how excited they are that they got a free ticket to Sunday's game. And yes, it's sour grapes. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) I know how you feel. These girls in their twenties at work are all excited about going. I'm sure they will have facebook pics of themselves with the game going on behind them. Ditto. I couldn't care less but the bandwagon is definitely overflowing right now.
  22. Add me to the list that loves what the A's did this offseason.
  23. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 14, 2011 -> 08:22 AM) Right now, Kevin Love is a better basketball player than Blake Griffin. And considering Love is less than a year older than him... Eh, it's really f'n close.
  24. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 09:00 PM) Maybe so, but 20 years from now when I think back to that play or any defensive play for that matter, I won't remember that an outfielder made a bad read on a ball initially or an infielder took a bad first step, I'll remember being wowed watching it take place. The Buehrle and Iguchi plays will always be the ones I recall first. Uribe made a play that happened to take place on the highest of stages- thats why that one will be special for me. Greatest Sox pickoff? Gotta be Buehrle against Sosa and the Rangers in 2007. The one hitter standing between Buehrle being the only pitcher to throw two perfect games was Chicago's beloved assclown, Sammy Sosa. Pick off and f*** you have the same number of letters. Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion and I know I'm in the minority on this one but to me Tad's play is one of the more overrated plays I've ever seen. Anyways, I didn't see the count down but this to me is the best defensive play ever, first play shown after the backflip: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/1806999/5964629
  25. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jan 13, 2011 -> 04:47 PM) Actually that play by Iguchi was pretty special The "specialness" of it was entirely brought on by himself. It was kind of like an outfielder getting a bad jump on a ball only to make up for it with a diving catch. It really should have been a routine play but he made it into something that looked better than it really was because he stumbled over himself.
