QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 09:14 PM) Had to. Haha, when I give a team a 0 percent shot of winning something, they always win(2006 Cards as well). Great stuff though. The Eli-Tyree play was freakin insane.

Tiger Woods
He might just win all 4 majors this year.

As of today, do you think the White Sox are legitimate AL contenders
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 02:36 PM) Also, I am not sold on a 43 yr old Rogers, a 5+ ERA Bonderman, a "can't post a winning record on a good team" Robertson, or a declining NL transfer Willis. The only sure thing in their rotation is Verlander. The Indians are not that much better. You subtract Santana from the Twins and it looks like a 3 team race. Cleveland is the team to beat imo.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 3, 2008 -> 01:12 PM) Not that Brian, this Brian. I loved the text from Justin at 2:15am when I had to get up at 6am for work. LOL, sorry man. Alcohol+anger made me forget to think that some people actually work.

Alright where you gonna be for the Superduperbowl?
At my house with a few buddies. Nothing fancy but that works for me.

Honestly, I'm on the fence here which is a complete turn around to what I was a few months ago. I really like our lineup and I LOVE our pen. Once again the back end of our rotation scares the crap out of me but if those 3 can produce at a decent level then I think we might have a shot. So realistically, I got to say no but I think there is at least an outside shot.

Ya, Brian got to read my Matt Shaw rant last night, I'm just tired of him. He's the most inconsistent player in the world and he's a freakin girl. I absolutely knew he was going to miss those ft's last night because it's what he does. Randal played great and got absolutely abused the whole game but whatever he as well needs to get his head out of his ass a lot of the time. This team is so f***in frustrating. I can't wait to get Shaw-Randal out and get Dillard, Bocot, Wood(medical redshirt), Evans, Booker, Roundtree in. I'm tired of this group minus Mullins.

Is Beasley ok? I saw he had to leave the game and then I left to go play some ball myself, so I didn't see if he came back or not.

Apparently us and Wisconsin are the two favorites right now for little McCamey. Be a nice get. Our 08 class is fantastic but we need to start grabbing some guys for 09-'10

QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 02:31 PM) That trade is just awful for Memphis. Someone please explain how the Bulls could not top that deal? The Lakers have quite the team now once Bynum gets back.

Snow Day!!!
I don't have classes on Friday anyways but no snow day for SIU. However, Southern Illinois people are definitely afraid of snow, it snowed a bit but pretty much every high school and grade school in the area is closed.

So Drake pretty much has this conference locked up but all the sudden we're a game out of 2nd place and have 3rd all to ourselves. Kinda crazy with as crappy as we've been.

Leadoff and two hole predicament...
With what we have now, I'm perfectly fine with OCab and Swisher as the 1-2.

"Who would you rather be?"
Tony Parker.

Scotty Pods to the Rox
Good luck to Pods. Wish him nothing but the best.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 04:52 PM) I take it if we ever went on a road trip to Cincy again, you won't want to listen to the stylings of Wutang Clan on my iPod? Bummer. Probably about as much as he wants cigar smoke blown in his face.

Take that Evansville. BTW, Bryan Mullins is the f***in man. 40 assists and 5 to's in his last 5 games. He's the only consistent player on this team but he's special.

The Bench
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 12:03 PM) Pablo actually is a pretty decent bench player. He plays multiple positions, and isn't afraid of tough lefties. He just is not a starter. And he can bunt, move runners over and run. I love Pablo coming off the bench.

The Bench
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 10:11 AM) I would have to say that the only time we truly saw Uribe go on a streak was when he was the superutility guy coming off the bench in 2004. Maybe he has to have his comfort level taken away from him This is exactly how I feel. I might be in the minority but though he'd obviously be an expensive bench player, I'd rather keep Juan than to just dump him off, I really think he holds a lot of value playing that super utility role.

Octavio Dotel signs with Sox
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 10:39 PM) I find the great exaggeraters amusing. People who say that any one of those things won the championship are selectively ignoring much of the picture. Pitching was number 1, no doubt. But defense, Pods' presence at the top, lots of home runs, good situational hitting when the team needed it, some luck, some small ball, and even a little bit of that intangible grindiness all came into play. No way that team wins the title without ALL those things. This is so freakin true. Good stuff.

Catch-All Anything Thread
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 29, 2008 -> 12:45 AM) Has anyone ever done High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)? If you haven't, google it and take it under consideration. I'm in the peculiar position of training to gain weight, but meanwhile burning excess fat. I didn't want to abandon cardio workouts in the process, either. So I found HIIT and decided to try it out tonight since the temperature outside was around 40. And let me just say, it knocks the living hell out of you. The concept behind the entire program is running at maximum effort for a short period of time, walking for several minutes, then repeating the process. I would run as fast as I could for 15 seconds and rest for roughly two minutes. It seemed fairly easy in the beginning. After about set four I could no longer run at 100%, but I trudged along anyways. Then the maximum effort decreased, and the breaks became longer than two minutes. By the time I got to my 8th set I was about to pass out. Couldn't do anymore. People swear by this, and judging from just one day I wouldn't blame them. My entire body is exhausted; and I'm in shape. I previously would jog at a moderate pace for 30 minutes. The only reason I abandoned jogging was it seemed to be holding back my muscle growth. It's a good program and I"m sure people such as Tru have heard of it. I'm intrigued.
