  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:19 PM) I'll take Crede against anyone right now. With out question.
  2. That's the best pitch Pods is gonna have to hit this ab.
  3. THROW MO OUT. We got a baserunner.
  4. Rivera locating perfect as usual. Cmon BA.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) I feel like a wrestler who just did the hand shake with my rival, turned my back, and the guy turns heel. I've told a lot of people through out this year that I just don't have the same faith in this years team as I did with last years. Last years, I was 100 percent optimistic because I really believed they were the best team in baseball. This year, I just don't have any where near the same feeling and in my gut I truely believe they won't make the playoffs. Hope to god I'm wrong. Like the wrestling reference though.
  6. BA better be hitting this inning. PLEASE
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:10 PM) This is usually something I don't say, but even if we can't tie this and win it next inning, I think this can help the momentum of the team. If you disagree...then shame on me for being optimistic. I'm going to disagree big time with you on this one fathom. Seriously, I don't see any momentum carrying over if we lose this one.
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:07 PM) Is Uribe healthy enough to pinch hit? He helped to beat Rivera last year. Even if he was, Ozzie won't pinch hit a righty, he just won't.
  9. We better win this freakin game now. No moral victories. CMON BOYS
  10. There is just something wrong with that guy.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 08:24 PM) Fitz will. Chambers is possible, but Culpepper won't be back until midway possibly. You trust Joey Harrington getting him the ball? Culpepper is going to start game 1.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) Thankfully he got away with only one run. One quick lineup comment....playing Sandy vs Escobar on Monday and AJP tonight vs Randy Johnson is just retarded. Alomar was brought here to be Mark's personal catcher, that's all.
  13. Brian Gorman ARE YOU NUTS???? Sorry, had to get that out of the way.
  14. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) After reading this, one person comes to mind for me. Thank god that tool was banned a couple years ago. Rowand knows who I'm talking about. lol. Yes I do.
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:58 PM) Look, B-Mac had 3 good starts last season. 3. Bmac had 5 quality starts last season, including 3 others where he got yanked early with allowing less than 3 runs, because Ozzie really didn't trust him or wanted to keep his confidence up, or whatever. Bmac was fantastic for us last year down the stretch. Like Kalapse said, without Brandon last year we might not have made the playoffs. It shows me a whole lot when you throw a rookie pitcher into the middle of a pennant race when the Sox had enormous pressure on them because of all the "choke" talk, and he just absolutely dominates.
  16. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:55 PM) someone link me or quote me what he said about B-Mac, because I missed it. 'If [starting McCarthy] went through my mind, we would have done it already,'' Guillen said. ''I think those five guys we bring -- put it this way, if we throw those five guys from my starting rotation in the air, they won't land. Somebody would pick them up. ''Everyone talks about McCarthy. Last year we threw McCarthy, and he wasn't too good either. OK? Check the records. Thank you. Everyone thinks McCarthy is [blank]-damn Cy Young.''
  17. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 12:23 PM) Your right, Liriano, Santana, all the other saviors had real problems in the pen. Liriano's era was over a run higher this year in the bullpen. Santana's career era in the pen is close to a run higher than his era in the rotation. There is no doubt in my mind that Brandon would be the 2nd or 3rd best starter on our team this year, now Buehrle isn't the right person to replace but Bmac should have been in the rotation a while ago imo. Anyways, I'm really starting to dislike Ozzie. Just thought everyone would like to know.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) Dear lord I hope this is a misquote. http://www.suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay08.html Wow.
  19. Chris Chambers and Larry Fitzgerald will both be top 5 wr's this year.
  20. This is the first game I've been real excited for since the first game back after the All Star break. If we're ever going to make a nice run, it'll be now.
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) IU got its first verbal for '07. It'll take a bit to become a respectable group, since Purdue cleaned house. However, it's a start. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...022/1004/SPORTS Just can't beat the SIU ties. Painter really did clean house.
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 11:39 PM) Needs less Heads.
  23. QUOTE(soxunited @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 06:32 PM) I think there is a reason why Ozzie has allowed his bullpen to be so well rested. It has not been stable this season with a combined ERA of 4.33. They are ranked 19th in major league baseball at this point in time by virtue of this stat. In 2005, the White Sox bullpen finished 3rd with a combined ERA of 3.23. You have to admit, the bullpen that is present today is a far cry from the efforts of last year. That era is much higher because of Cliff, Montero and Boone Logan. This is a fine bullpen now, even though Cotts has been awful the last month.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 8, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) That is exactly what I was thinking as that play was going down, right after the ball landed I thought, if Dye comes through here A-Rod will be the scapegoat. Thirded.
  25. Unfreakinbelievable. That game was just absolutely humungous to come back and win. Thank you Paul and thank you JD. W0000000000000T
