I'm rooting for the Sawx(eew). Obviously none of it matters if we dont take care of business but in this series go Boston.

Going to the game today and then the rest of the day will be spent packing because I'm going back to school tomorrow. Man, summer went real quick.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 04:15 AM) It's gonna be close. Bush is special. And I don't mean Ron Santo special. lol, ouch. I like Reggie as much as anyone, just comparing anyone to Jordan in any sport is a pretty tough comparison imo.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 03:44 AM) Houston Texans = Portland Trailblazers I wouldn't go that far.
-
I'm going to be boring and take the Astros.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 01:23 AM) Might as well bring up Tracey and Logan too. Extra arms don't hurt. Ozzie can use them for blowouts. Just don't use Boone against Hafner.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 01:16 AM) He can't defend, but if your going to diss Adam Dunn at the plate, you really don't watch baseball. We played Dunn when he was playing his worst ball of the year, and now he's great in every offensive category except average (and .260 isn't too terrible). This is kind of ironic to me and I'll let you guys figure out why.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 01:08 AM) How does Cruz Jr "blow" to you, yet you have an avatar of Preston Wilson? He plays a decent CF, according (apparently) to Jason, and his BP defensive stats rate very well in all three OF spots. Offensively, the past two year against lefties, he's put up OPS' of .951 and .942. Cruz is really an ideal option for the Sox, as he'd be the perfect platoon for Pods. He also hasn't been a full-time player since 2004, and he'd be coming to one of the best teams in baseball, so I doubt he'd have a problem riding the pine. Cruz is a solid outfielder all around, he just gets lazy some times.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) He did, but his debut was nasty. The 2nd start was solid and he's been crappy since too. Ahh ok. Well at least I'm not totally nuts.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) I believe he got s***f***ed in his first start with WS. Ok, maybe I'm a liar then. I have no clue why but I remember him having one decent start there.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) Just out of curiosity, when was Ray's last decent start? 1994. Wasn't his first start back in Winston Salem decent? Maybe it wasn't but I still think of him as a better spect than Russell, jmo.

QUOTE(PA32R @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) I'll go out on a limb and say they'll win at least 101 games. If they don't - BOO YA! I wouldn't doubt it but I also think it's very possible that they COULD play a bit under .500 or right at it the rest of the year. I don't want anyone to think that I'm taking anything away from that team because they've been just unreal but I just don't think they're this good. I'll probably be wrong as usual though.

QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Rice has great numbers and 20 is the right age for Kanny. However, he has control concerns. All that said, I find it hard to consider minor league relievers prospects until they succeed in AA. How many times have we seen guys dominate the minors as relievers and then struggle in the bigs? If Rice is going to be a starter, and show success as a starter, he'll find himself on one of our lists soon enough. As of now I would probably rate Whisler ahead of Liotta, but I'm still not sold on Russell being ahead of Liotta. At this point I'm just going to post my own list so I can take my name off the FutureSox one lol. I'd still rate Liotta ahead of Russell too. So you're not alone dan.

QUOTE(PA32R @ Aug 13, 2006 -> 12:17 AM) Man, that's pretty wishful thinking IMHO, that is, that Detroit will play .500 ball. They have shown that they are a solid team. They'll play .600 ball, I'll bet. They're a very solid team but I still don't think they're a 100 win team. That being said if they play 500 ball the rest of the way then they still win 99 games so it's not out of the question for them to play .500 ball the rest of the way because they played at such a ridiculous pace the whole year so far.

Omogrosso will definitely be a fan favorite if he ever makes it to Chicago just cause of his name. I'm interested to see where you guys have Wes on your list considering I know Gage has never liked him.
-
I love Bush, I'm just hoping he gets enough carries to put up some numbers in the season. He's also on my keeper league fantasy team, so I'm cheering for him big time.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) We need Crede to keep hitting DP balls to third. It seems to be working nicely this week. The other 3b's are just in awe of Joe so they throw it away. Tomorrow is absolutely huge and it could easily make the difference in this division down the stretch. I'll feel a ton better about our chances if we win tomorrow. I think it's kind of ridiculous to say we'll win the division if we win tomorrow but we'll definitely be much closer than if we lose.
-
This feels like a playoff game. If we can win this game, we're right back in this darn thing. If not, then we'll have a ton of work to do to have a shot at the division. CMON Freddy. I'd also like to add that Brian Anderson better be in cf.
-
Nice to see Mark get back into a groove and also nice to see us cashing in on mistakes. I must say that one of my favorite parts of the game is how Ozzie managed the bullpen today. He actually let them win a darn game for us. I was very freakin impressed. Good Job, Oz.

If we have a rookie left fielder next year, I hope to god that it's Sweeney.
-
QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) It has to be. We have one final shot at making the division a race. It may not be the biggest series of the season, but up until this point it is. We'll have plenty more series that loom large as the season gets closer and closer to the end. Basically every series from here on out is the biggest series of the year.

ST Poll: Who's the most clutch player on the Sox?

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:51 PM) It's a good thing Thome hit that meaningless add on homer tonight, just padding his deceptive stats as usual. Dude sucks, I wish we could trade him for Aaron Rowand. He's blue collar and fixes a hole in the outfield. I bet you're being sarcastic. Just a hunch though. -
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) Thats why I came home...... Steve and I shall be there as well. Probably give you a call when we get there.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Been WAYYYYYY up North for the last week, so havent caught much Sox baseball. Got to watch most of the game tonight, and it looks like we are ready to to make a push for the postseason. I cant wait. You gonna be there tomorrow?
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 11, 2006 -> 10:02 PM) You would think Detroit has to go in the tank for a little while. It would be nice if the time is now with a couple of series against them pretty close together, and with a 4 game series with KC coming up. It also looks like Minnesota's crazy run may be coming to an end. The Sox could really do some damage if they got on a serious roll right now. No Liriano=No playoffs for the Twins. I've probably thought the highest of that team out of anyone on this site but if he's down for a while(which I think he's pretty much done for the year) then they're done. As for the Tigers, we've been waiting for them to tank for a while, it'd sure be nice if it finally happened for a nice period of time.
