  1. :cheers Get healthy Big Jim.
  2. QUOTE(Wealz @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) Guillen has been nothing short of extraordinary in developing Anderson this year. Anderson was lost at the plate for much of the first half of the season. To make the transition to being the tough out he's become is remarkable. His development remains a work-in-progress, but kudos to Ozzie for understanding how important Anderson is to the near future of this team and not throwing him completely into the fire. I want to hear why though, that's what I don't understand. When he was struggling, he started to platoon he and Mack. The problem there is that Anderson is much better against right handed pitching than left handed pitching. Now that Anderson has become one of the more consistant hitters on this team as of late, not to mention one of the better defensive cf's in baseball, he gets sat in 2 games against the team we're battling with in the wild card race.
  3. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 05:32 PM) Satellite in University Hall? Yeup.
  4. QUOTE(Wealz @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 08:31 PM) Anderson's not being platooned. For example Silva, last I checked, is a right-hander. You said that the way Ozzie handled Anderson is the reason why he has blossomed. Earlier in the year he was being platooned with Mack, thus I don't get how Ozzie has handled Anderson well. If we're talking about the present then you don't need to look much further than this weekend to figure out that Ozzie still has no clue when it comes to how good of a player Anderson has become.
  5. QUOTE(Wealz @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) Guillen's handling of Anderson, choosing which pitchers he faces, is a big reason why he has blossomed. Sure, it sucks to have Mackowiak in center at times, but that's the price you pay to make sure Anderson develops properly. You could blame Williams for not furnishing Guillen with a better alternative than Mackowiak in center. So platooning Anderson against lefties when he hits righties much better helped his development? Explain that one to me.
  6. I'm going to cheat and say JC and Mark. I say those two because I actually think they're capable of turning it around, while I know Freddy and Javy aren't capable of any sort of turn around.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 04:19 PM) We have Tampa and KC coming up next.... if we dont go 5-1 we might have a problem... Id like to see this team start to make a run though and there are no 2 better teams to do it against. It's going to be hard for this team to go on a sustained winning streak not facing NL teams because of the rotation. Huge game today by Mark, we need that from here on out from him. Like Jackie Hayes said, this team needs Mark Buehrle. I would love to get at least 5 this week but anything less than 4 is unacceptable.
  8. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) We're facing the d-rays next, correct? Who are the tigs facing next? We got the Drays and Royals this week. The Tigers have the Yankees and Angels. The Twins have the Royals and Yankees.
  9. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) I'm a heck of a lot happier about the way Mark is pitching today. The hitting is gravy. No doubt.
  10. That must be a mistake, you can't get Gload out twice in a row.
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) I was just thinking that myself. Looks like he'll wind up throwing a quality start. Jinx.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) I like DJ's analysis of Iguchi this season. Iguchi looks like he has no energy. DJ has been the bright spot of this season.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:08 PM) STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE!! In all seriousness, I don't know what to believe in now that you've seemed to have lost faith. Ha, I'm sorry sir.
  14. Uh oh, bad news for Brian. Getting a hit= 3 days in a row on the bench now.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:00 PM) Honestly, when's the last time Crede came through late in a game? I remember asking myself this last night. Against the yankees a few weeks back.
  16. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Lol, glad we could capitalize with the bases loaded, 1 out. One day you'll have to explain to me why that is funny.
  17. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) If we miss the playoffs, I think there is a good chance of it actually happening. I wish that were the case, but he ain't going anywhere unless he steps down himself.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:53 PM) Yep...especially against Brad Lidge. Ahh the good ol' days.
  19. QUOTE(BearSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) It is kinda funny, since Ozzie was saying stuff like the manager of the year usually gets fired in the next season. Ozzie's wish will be granted. But seriously, Kenny would be stupid not to make a move for Lou Pinella in the offseason. Ozzie ain't gonna get fired.
