  1. This team just isn't that good. That simple. When you add that to having an absolute horrid manager, well these are the results.
  2. QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) I'm a little surprised that so many consider tonight's game a good win. No such things as good wins or bad wins anymore, it's all about the W's and L's, that's all that matters.
  3. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 3, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) Anyone attend the Kenny Chesney concern yesterday at Bridgeview stadium? I'm interested in your thoughts of the venue. After working two concerts, I can honestly say it's a terrible experience for patron and employee. I must have been verbally assaulted several hundred times -- of which included 8 death threats to myself and 3 to my mother. Not that it bothered me personally, but hearing insults for three hours straight isn't exactly an ideal situation for working. It was so bad at one point several offduty Chicago Policemen volunteered to assist me. The reason these people were upset -- and I can certaintly understand -- is there were no bathrooms on the concert floor. This area held roughly 10,000 people, and every person had to exit through a narrow isle leading up 30 flights of stairs. When the concert ended, I ignored my orders of maintaing two exists and opened several more. These drunks were seriously on the verge of rioting. If anyone is thinking about attending a concert at Bridgeview, I have two warnings: one, avoid seats on the field. Despite their promixity, the discomfort of waiting in bathroom/exit lines severly dampers the experience. Two, be prepared to wait perhaps an hour to exit the stadium. Limited exists, which converge with several parking lots, create a literal bottleneck. Lance Broadway at the concert by chance?

  6. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) This kid needs to be banned.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:36 PM) Kind of contradictory statement... he is just another player even though he is our greatest player ever. Ill always root for the Whitesox first but definitely root for Frank Thomas 2nd. No it's not. I know he's the greatest player in our organizations history but right now he's not on the White Sox and he's just another player to me. So good for him for having this solid season but I just don't care.
  8. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) If anything I see Ozzie playing him there more out of spite. This makes Ozzie look bad when the player himself is telling you he's being put in a position to fail. Ozzie doesn't need any help to look bad.
  9. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Libertyville over Naperville North 21-14 Warren over Maine South 28-22 Driscoll over North Chicago 38-8 Stevenson?
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) the egg McMuffin for breakfast. Had one of those yesterday, delicious.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 2, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) Why the hell does Hamtpon/Grambling get televised. I wonder this type of crap every time I see those type of games on TV, especially ESPN 2. Michigan has been a few drops from having a big lead, instead they are up 6. It'd be awesome if Vandy could take this.
  12. No offense to Frank but I couldn't care less what the A's do. He's part of another organization now so to be honest he's just another player in my mind, even if he's the greatest player in our teams history.
  13. Married with children is one of my favorite shows of all time. Wasn't the breakfast club set at one of the north suburban high schools or am I going nuts?
  14. QUOTE(loltrain @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 05:29 PM) I think you overrate the Tigers farm system massively, we have excellent pitching prospects (I might rate Jair Jurjjens ahead of Sanchez due to Sanchez massive injury history) but position player wise the cupboard is pretty bare, Maybin and...err...well Maybin. Imo the Twins are pretty similar with great pitching but not much position wise, I would definitely trade the Tigers position prospects for Fields, Sweeney etc We'll trade farm systems with you guys.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 04:43 PM) would of rather had Tracey instead of Haeger. Definitely agree. Very happy with the other 3 though and I really hope Sweeney gets some PT.
  16. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) From what I have seen of Garza, if he doesn't have ace potential, it is really goddamn close. A fastball near 94-97, along with a very good curve and an adequate change...that's pretty much the mold for every Twins pitcher in their organization(not being fastball-curve-change...having a plus fastball, a great secondary pitch, and an adequate to good third pitch) I've seen him pitch and like I said, I wouldn't bet on him being an ace.
  17. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 1, 2006 -> 09:29 AM) Liriano and Garza are a formidable 1/2. Detroit would still have Miller/Verlander/Sanchez. Out of the guys you mentioned, two have proven they can succeed in the majors and there is a good shot that Liriano could have a lot of trouble with injuries. To say Liriano and Garza are a formidable 1/2 is kind of crazy imo. Yes, Liriano will be an ace IF he stays healthy, I wouldn't bet on Garza though.
  18. That wall is pretty d amn solid, too bad he's bad.
  19. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 06:11 PM) I'll also mention that there are only like 2 teams in the entire AL(that have a shot in hell) that are playing good baseball right now - Oakland and Minnesota - and neither effect our race. Um..?
