QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:48 AM) You have a pitcher who's gone 23-3 with a 3.02 ERA and a WHIP of 1.15 in 196 innings pitched. He allowed only 11 HR and just 33 BB in that stretch of 28 starts, averaging 7 innings per start. I want that pitcher. I agree that Jon could once again be among the leagues top pitchers next season. Like I said, I'm very greatful for what he's doing now, I'd just take the overall consistancy of last seaon over what he's done this year.

Rocky 6 in december.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 02:21 AM) This is why this board is driving me to an early grave. I sense deep down there are still Jon haters out there. It frustrates me to no end. Repeat after me ... He is 17-4, he is 17-4, he is 17-4, ad infinitum he is 17-4. p.s. Go Brother Rice football!!! Crusaders Rock. In my post I clearly bashed the hell out of Jon and made it known that I'm a Jon Garland hater. First off, I've never been a Jon Garland hater and second, just because I said he was better last year doesn't mean I was taking away from this season, which I thought I made clear in my post, but I guess not.

QUOTE(T R U @ Sep 10, 2006 -> 01:44 AM) I think he has been better this season than last year.. just some bad starts at the very begining otherwise he has been dominating Eh, I really disagree with this. Jon was awful the first two months of this season and last year he was pretty consistant through out. I don't want to take anything away from Jon though, he's no doubt become our best pitcher.

Well if Sweeney is starting it better be in left field with a new shortstop to leadoff. I'll be completely lost and pretty pissed if Brian isn't the starting cf next season.

Lance gonna start game 3?

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:06 AM) Angels... angels... angels. Makes enough sense to me and always has. From a personnel stand point that makes absolutely perfect sense. Obviously it's going to come down to if they want all the negative pr that comes along with Barry.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:44 AM) Are people really suggesting haeger in the rotation? Really bold prediction on my part... haeger will not be in the chicago white sox starting rotation. I hope he's not a member of the White Sox organization. That's not based on anything that's happened in his brief major league career either. He should have at least some decent trade value and I just can't trust a knuckleballer, ya I'm racist against knuckleballers.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Where's Brian Anderson he of the Post ASB .278/.328/.421 meant to fit in that equation? On the bench with all the other communists.

QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:34 AM) Someone's got to play left as pods is not getting it done. i'd love to see nothing but sweeney in center and mack/gload in left. Why do we want Sweeney in centerfield?

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Read what you've written if you don't know what you are. Is it a jackal?
-
QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 11:46 PM) Guillens worth is measured by the fact that there isn't a "Buehrle Haters" thread right now. He takes ALL the heat so he players dont have to. Correct, the starting pitchers have not been bashed once on this site all year.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 11:26 AM) Mana Sue Winner.

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 07:11 AM) tiki 7th is a steal and westbrook at 27 is definitely good value Not to mention getting Droughns in the 6th is outstanding value. -
QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 03:00 AM) So you all go by specific decisions of Oz in deciding you hate him like who he had Marte go against??? His decisions would be the same as most all managers in baseball. No, this isn't true at all. To keep it simple, he doesn't even come close to using the personnel given to him in the best possible situations. Marte was absolutely horrid down the stretch last year, everyone on this board could have told you what he was going to do that night and Boston and Ozzie almost blew the darn game by putting him in there.
-
QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) I would love to seem him be a Grady Sizemore like hitter. I know he doesn't have Sizemore's speed, but I think his plate discipline could be very comparable. Eh, not happening. Grady Sizemore is just a special player.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) You can add Luis Castillo to that list and many others. I'm just dissapoitned by him cause dude seriously underacheived as a baserunner. He should be stealing 40-50+ every year. Injuries have slowed Castillo down. He definitely used to be a stolen base threat.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:10 PM) You counted my posts in this thread? Strange dude, strange. Yup, I was just thinking to myself "what the hell, lets count up all of ssi's posts, I got nothing better to do." That or I just clicked on the replies and it showed me, you can decide.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) He has ripped Pods and his defense. He has started to platoon Pods. What more do you want him to do? Hasn't he ripped Garcia's fastball? I believe he has. Who cares who he rips? I really don't understand it. They players aren't crying or upset about it. Why the hell are you? Grow some thicker skin and move on. For the love of God man. Whe freaking cares. WHAAAAAA!!!!!!!! Well you obviously do considering you have like 60 posts in this thread.

QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Sep 6, 2006 -> 10:04 PM) Then you'd lose your $$. It is a short stint and he won't be a regular, so it is a small sample size, but I think .240/.295/.340 is more likely. This guy has never hit well at any level above rookie league. He had a .721 OPS in A-ball in 2004. He followed that with a .738 OPS in a band box stadium in AA in 2005. He's showed some improvement this year up to a mediocre .802 OPS again in AA. Now he jumps all the way up to the majors and fans think he's going to succeed? This isn't addressed to anyone in particular, but I hate it when fans see a "sweet swing" and a "good approach" and automatically think that a touted rookie is going to produce immediately. That's pretty damned rare. It is even more rare when a player's minor league performance wasn't particularly impressive. In fact, Sweeney's minor league performance was quite unimpressive. Uhh?????????
