  1. QUOTE(CySox @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 01:28 AM) I don't keep track of when other teams gm's come and go. sorry. Well then you probably shouldn't declare someone an idiot with out knowing all the details, no?
  2. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 01:01 AM) Yes ATLEAST I AM NOT A DOLPH DOLPHINS FAN Jackie, not many ever catch it when you make a joke, do they? What I will say is that while ARod isn't coming here this season, the thought of him in the Sox lineup would intrigue me and probably Kenny Williams in the offseason, when more such moves are made. Does that help a little Kalapse? You must apologize. NOW
  3. QUOTE(CySox @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) also, when you trade Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano, you are officially and idiot in my book. Too bad that wasn't Minaya.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 12:31 AM) I don't really think many people were being all that serious talking about A-Rod comming to the Sox, it was more fun speculation than anything else. Must you always be such a buzzkill? Wite is no fun.
  5. Reason number 3423432432 why Iowa is horrible.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 11:58 PM) Oh spiff.....showdown. I'm pretty sure that gage is actually right for once. When I tried getting mlb.tv all the way down at carbondale, I couldn't. It was horrible.
  7. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) If Jerry was willing to pay the rest of his contract (which he more than likely wouldn't) I would be fishing ecstatic to have a player of Alex Rodriguez' caliber manning SS for years to come. Of course the Sox do not have the available major league pieces necessary to pull off such a deal but a guy can dream. Bingo. Arod is the best player in baseball when he's at shortstop. I know many people hate the guy, but I've always been a big fan and would no doubt love to have him.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) The second Crede dropped that ball in foul territory I lept up and screamed: "YOU CAN NOT GIVE MANNY RAMIREZ A SECOND CHANCE!" sadly everyone's worst fears came true when Viz wet the bed. I said the exact same thing word for word. Except add a fishing--not fishing, in the middle of Manny and Ramirez.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 10:45 PM) (his HR he hit off Vizcaino last year at the Cell is probably the most impressive HR I've ever witnessed in person simply because of how fast it got out of the park with that sort of distance.) And every single person in the park knew it was coming.
  10. QUOTE(loltrain @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) This one was a team effort, Crisp and various cutoff men also blew it. No doubt. But everything Manny does in the outfield is just hilarious. He picks it up, slips out of his hand, then he points to it for Coco to pick it up.
  11. He could and he'll try. We'll just have to see if there are any willing trade partners out there. That's really what it comes down to.
  12. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) What about him? Because since I've been a die hard fan, he's the one pitcher the Sox have been able to count on every single year.
  13. QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Link Sorry if already posted. Even at his age I feel that its an upgrade on Widger. Pinnage at the top of the page.
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) For some reason I could of swore Whisler was promoted.... anyways when you do an interview with him maybe find out if he knows anything about being promoted in the near future. Harrell and Russell have been promoted. Unless a trade is made, there is just no room in the Birmingham rotation for Wes.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 08:01 PM) Didn't R. Meaux have great numbers last year? Lamura has better stuff than Meaux.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) After Beltre gave the M's a lead in the 8th with an inside the parker, Varitek tied things up with a HR but than Sexson went yard on a walkoff in the bottom half of the 9th. Mariners Beat the BoSox. Manny.
  17. We should all join Widger's softball league.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 06:20 PM) Munoz probably has more trade value than Lamura, but this is a fair move. Lamura has a lot of work to do before he ever turns into a legit prospect. He does have a nice arm, but he's the exact type of guy you can move. He's a college reliever thats taken a while to develop. True. Mostly, I think he could have been a throw in, in a bigger deal. Oh well, not a big deal, I guess I'm just not happy about a lot of things right now.
  19. Wow, Lamura for Sandy. That's over paying imo. Lamura has a pretty damn good arm and could be a decent reliever one of these years. I think BJ could have maybe been a decent throw in, in a larger deal. Wish we could have given up a Munoz type...
  20. I've been thinking of this since this thread went up, and the only guy that really sticks out to me is Mark Buehrle.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 05:56 PM) Trying to get an interview set up with him to discuss any potential changes he's made. That'd be a very cool inteview at the moment.
  22. Wes has that era under 3 now. He's definitely come a long way so far this year.
  23. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) We'd look for another vet first. Stewart is next year's plan and will also get some experience this September. Obviously if we couldn't find anything else, than Stewart would be up this year. You're probably right. I personally have no problem breaking Stewart in this year as a back up. Let him play once a week because I'd rather have a back up catcher who's a good defender rather than a good hitter(duh). I think he could at least provide some solid d for one game a week, even if he is a rook.
  24. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 05:26 PM) So what happens when he goes on the DL 2 weeks from now? Chris Stewart, hopefully.
  25. On the bright side, we won't have to hear Widger be blamed for our pitchers stinking.
