  1. What's your final four? I always like to predict mine first on this site so you guys know who not to pick. Mine: Nova Zags Louisville Kentucky
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 01:15 PM) I don't doubt your knowledge of the injury, but he hasn't played a baseball game in over 7 months. If it's going to take a few more weeks, then he's not ready for a major league season. He needs to play AAA baseball to rehab, and if he's ready, then bring him back. It's not like he's an established major league player. In this season for the White Sox, what's the difference with him rehabbing in AAA or just playing in the majors? I don't really care either way but I don't see too much of a difference.
  3. On the Marshall front, it's at least worth noting that the Shockers have everyone coming back next year. And with the way they improved in the 2nd half of the season, they're going to be pretty special next season.
  4. QUOTE (gatnom @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 10:54 AM) I don't think so either, though it does sound like they're going to try. And they absolutely should.
  5. He just has such a great situation at Wichita. That said, the committee hasn't really respected them at all the last few years so maybe that'll make him want to move at some point. I guess we'll see.
  6. QUOTE (gatnom @ Mar 13, 2017 -> 10:47 AM) I believe he actually makes more than double that, due to the Koch brothers. He makes 3.3. I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong if he goes to Illinois but I don't see it. But I've been wrong in this thread once or 428483928492 billion times.
  7. Wichita 8th overall in Kenpom and 11th in Sagarin and a 10 seed. Kinda sucks for everyone including Wichita, Dayton and Kentucky.
  8. You obviously shoot high if you're Illinois and I don't blame you for wanting him but Marshall isn't going there.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 9, 2017 -> 02:38 PM) I really like that move by Cleveland. They have like a billion dollars in cap space and just bought themselves a 2nd rd pick. Why the hell not?
  10. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 7, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) I'd give it to Harden. Honestly, depending on how you define MVP, I'm ok giving it to any of the 3 that have been mentioned here.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 01:15 PM) This is such a problem. I don't have a problem giving up the long drunken Friday/Saturday nights I have a problem giving up the random 2-3 IPAs I have after a long work day with a friend/girlfriend. I've never been so disappointed in someone in my life.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 12:09 PM) I'm not the least bit religious but usually give up something. I gave up Diet Coke this year. That said, since I'm dealing with surgery recovery and kicked booze 101 days ago, I'm going to go ahead and jump back on the soda train. f*** that. I am legit addicted to Diet Coke. It's not good.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 2, 2017 -> 09:53 AM) Conference was trash this year. We don't deserve two teams and I hate IlSt. I'm right. The conference was trash, Illinois State and Wichita State aren't trash. You can obviously hate ISU if you want but I always root for the conference and personally have no reason to hate ISU.
  14. Starts tonight. Even with us being hot garbage for the last decade now this is still one of my favorite things to go to every year. If we can't win it, I'll cheer for the IlSU over WSU in a close game final to at least have a chance to get 2 teams in.
  15. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 1, 2017 -> 07:08 AM) I truly hope KD is not hurt too badly, but it is not sounding good. I'm hoping for the best, as I think Cavs/Warriors with everyone healthy would be an epic series. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources-warri...-085809477.html The Golden State Warriors are bracing for the possibility that All-Star forward Kevin Durant could be lost for the rest of the regular season – or perhaps longer – with a left knee injury, league sources told The Vertical. The radio, ya know where all good sources come from. I actually missed your link to be honest and just saw your guys' posts so my bad. I've been sick the last few days, leave me alone.
  16. Durant is going to be back for the playoffs most likely, I wouldn't bury the Warriors yet.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 26, 2017 -> 06:27 PM) We say the same thing every year and usually fail but I agree. ISU seems vulnerable and I'd love to end their NCAA dreams. We always fail ha. I'm not predicting we make it to the finals but we've played ISU tough both times. We definitely can't beat Wichita though so nice to be on IlSU's side of the bracket.
  18. Gotta think Wichita State takes this the way they've been playing but who knows. If we can get by Loyola on Friday I think we at least have a punchers chance against the Redbirds in the semis.
  19. If you can do it I say do it.
  20. Alright, face palm for real now. I'll leave this conversation on that.
  21. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) You guys are delusional if you think 2 top 5 picks is some kind of guarantee. Next year's draft is supposed to be pretty good, but what about 2018? What if you get stuck choosing between Anthony Bennett and Victor Oladipo? If it's 2 picks plus Brown and some scrap, I would consider that. Just picks? Hellllllllllllll no. Not one person has guaranteed anything about those picks. I have guaranteed this team isn't winning a damn thing the next few years with Jimmy here though. You're delusional(to use your term) if you think this team is going to be a contender with Jimmy these next 3 years. And you're absolutely delusional if you think Jimmy is a superstar on the same level of guys who lead their teams to championships like you keep insinuating. Dude is a great player but he's not leading this team to a championship.
  22. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Again, you're trading a proven, starting All-Star. He's a top 10-12 player in the league on an insanely cheap contract for a few more seasons. It would be criminal for the Bulls to get rid of him for 2 draft picks, even if they are 1-4. There are no assurances those top picks will pan out. http://www.nba.com/history/draft/all-time-...ry-draft-picks/ (edit: sorry, this is the right link) Go look back at the top 5 picks. There are far too many busts for my liking in there. I think best case you get one guy that comes close to Butler's level and the other would be just an average NBA player....4-5 seasons from now. Not nearly enough. Are you still going to be arguing this same position at this time next year or the year after? Because we're going to be in virtually the same position. You can argue your trade values all you want but holding onto Jimmy just because you have a perceived value on him that nobody can reach is the way to keep the Bulls where they are. Nobody is guaranteeing anything with these picks(though a lot of us certainly love some of these players) but eventually you have to take a chance because I do guarantee you they wont be a championship contender with Jimmy in his 'prime' here.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Feb 23, 2017 -> 03:00 PM) You would be getting two top 4 picks. I'd do that without thinking twice. Butler is great but this franchise isn't winning a f***ing thing with him and you aren't getting more value than two top 4 picks for him. You certainly are better off doing that then acquiring the mediocre players that you usually accompany such a deal. Yup.
