Undecided Rocket won't pitch until June
Rowand44 replied to Phuck the Cubs's topic in The Diamond Club
QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:20 PM) No way.. if Clemens comes back to Houston I will do some sort of sig bet with you they dont make the World Series.. I dont even think they will make the playoffs The NL is so freaking horrendous, and if Clemens comes back Houston has the same exact team they had that made the world series last year. That top 3 in their rotation would be enough to get them through the NL imo. -
Cotts and Politte pitching in big situations and pitching well is what I took most from this game. It's just a matter of time imo until Neal gets it turned around but it might take a little while because of the fact he won't get too many innings. I'm hoping we can get the Cliff from 04, nothing special but just a solid reliever. If we can get these two turned around then look out.

As much as I despise Clemens, if he comes back I think you can just about put Houston in the world series. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Smoke some marijuana, a couple shots of vodka, and you'll be good to go. ^^^ From the Intercontinental Champ himself.

I honestly believe that Dustin isn't the type of guy that would try to basically scam money away from the Sox. I just don't see it.

I really did nothing. The best advice I would give is to just don't even worry about it. Relax and you'll be fine. As far as the reading goes, you get like no time to do it but it's incredibly easy. It's not too hard to be honest, you'll be fine.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) If you think of all the stuff that went wrong tonight, it's not a negative loss. The Anderson homer will do nothing but help his confidence, and Cotts/Politte looked well. I'd rather lose the way we did instead of just give up in the 9th like we used to do a few years ago. Oh I know and if we can get Neal and Cliff straightened out(I really have no worries about Neal) then watch out but these type of losses hurt no matter what.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) Every manager likes the righty, righty match-up. It's common in baseball. BMac made a good pitch (personally I would had just challenged him with the heat after 2 change-ups) and Court knew what to do with it. Ya, I know most managers like it but Oz really lives and dies by it. I'm not bashing him for it because that's the way he manages, I do disagree with it a lot though but Ozzie>>>infinite amount of these>>>>me. As far as the pitch, ya it seems like it was a good pitch(I can't watch any games right now), and Brandon just got beat. It's not the last time that'll happen either, just gotta get 'em tomorrow.

QUOTE(SoxAce @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:24 PM) Another 1 run loss this season, something that hardly ever happened last season. Hell, I thought we could had stole this one. The Mariners are horrible in one run games. The loss is on our best reliever(up to this point) as well. This game is killing me right now cause I hate losses like this but unfortunately that is baseball and s*** like this happens.

QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) Isn't McCarthy better vs lefties? Because of his change, probably..without looking at any numbers. We all know ozzie loves the righty/righty stuff though, so it's not like it was some unkown reason.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) For some unknown reason gives Reed an IBB. I guess Ozzie only likes to win 8 in a row. Reed=Lefty, Betancourt=Righty. There, I solved the mystery.
-
Ouch. This one just hurts because of how we tied it.

Joe is gonna do his thing right here.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:24 PM) I'm in no way agaisnt sitting 3 starters, except in this exact situation. WE NEEDED TO WIN THIS GAME. Plain and Simple, get the monkey off our backs, and get the west coast series started with a win. ^^^ Must win this game was. MUST WIN.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) When your team is absolutely on fire like we were, I hate the idea of sitting 3 of your hottest players in one game. If they would have sat Crede tonight, Dye tomorrow, and Pods on Wednesday....that's fine. Ozzie knew that Seattle wasn't putting up a lot of runs. This was a game where if we can get 4 or 5 runs, we should win. He did the same junk last year as well. It's frusterating as all hell during that game but his s*** works as annoying as it can be.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:18 PM) Guys, it's ok to lose a game every now and again. You can't play your starters 162 games a year, and keeping people rested worked well last year. I hated these lineups last year but we definitely seemed to have the most fresh time come postseason. So maybe JUST MAYBE Ozzie knows a bit more then we do. Maybe.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) And gtfo means? Get the f*** out I assume.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Well, just gotta have John throw a GOOD sinker, and the inning should be over. *Jon.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) The ball rolled off of Garland's hands on an easy throw to first. He'll never ever hear the end of that. Hilarious. Ok, well it's funny now.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) He slaughtered it? How so? Lets just say Sox and Talk are hard words for Hawk to say.
-
QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 09:25 PM) Off-topic, but has anyone ever had an e-mail read by Hawk and DJ? I send them one every so often, and I've never gotten a response, or heard it read on the air. I've had 2, but around 2001-2002.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 09:20 PM) How old is Moyer, 43? 44? 97.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 24, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) he's the NL's version of Billy Koch Koch lost his stuff, Pujols might have hit Lidge's confidence out of him with that one blast. We'll see if it continues but he definitely hasn't been the same guy after that shot.
