  1. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:30 PM) They all pitch every 5th game And btw, Garland is the 5th starter, not Javy. Well if your going by the way the rotation is set then no it's javy but if you're just saying Garland is the 5th starter because you believe he's our 5th best starter then that's just an opinion.
  2. Great ab by Buck there. Cmon Neal, nail this b**** down.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) Am I the only one who is thinking that he seems to have a little "extra" movement on his pitches this year? What are you trying to say Mr. Buehrle?
  4. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Anyone know the Sox record in April last year? 17 or 18 and 7 I believe.
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) For those who are watching...was anyone warming up for the Sox? Clifford and Neal, looked like Javy was coming back out though.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 01:21 PM) You are thinking in the completely wrong way for a team like Oakland. Because of their lack of money, they have to trade players that won't be on their team in a year because it helps them get the players that will be cheap studs in the future. Its basically, do you want Zito for another half year, or do you want someone like Sowers for 6 years in the future (I only mention Sowers because of the Indians, I don't really know if he'd be an option or not)? No, you don't put your future ahead of the present when you have a world series caliber team, that's not smart. Small market or not you don't go trading your 1 or 2 starter when you have a real good shot at at least making the playoffs. You don't start rebuilding in a playoff year.
  7. Rumor has it that Javy has sucked t his game.
  8. QUOTE(Damen @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:28 PM) 3 walks and a wild pitch. Good thing we gave him an out. Live with it. Scotty's going to steal bases and he's going to get caught stealing, that's his game. He's also going to have times where he produces a run by himself, it's useless to b**** everytime he gets thrown out because it's going to happen.
  9. All things considered that turned out to be a pretty s***ty inning, still got a run though.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) Gotta trade him. He's going to be gone soon anyways, their system is loaded, and somebody will overpay for a guy that is very hittable if you sit on his s***ty fastball. LOL, you guys make it seem like it's so easy to hit Zito, you guys might want to tell that to some hitters considering Zito has had one below average year(below average for him, still wasn't that bad) in his whole career.
  11. Is anyone elses WGN going psychotic or is it just mine?
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 10:35 AM) Why? He won't be in Oakland next year, and if they trade him now, they can get a good group of solid prospects. When you have the type of team Oakland has you don't trade your quality starting pitching for a group of prospects to try and get better for future years. That pitching staff is so ridiculously strong and to take away from that would just be retarded imo.
  13. Perfect peg by Bako. Arod singles, cmon Thome.
  14. Be real dumb of the A's to trade him imo.
  15. This kind of sounds exactly like how the Garland and Contreras stuff started and what do you know..we got 3 year deals done with both.
  16. I think more then anything, snb is just talking about how all the b****ing around here from the first week has subsided for now, and it's kind of nice to see for at least now. Everyone realizes that there is a long way to go but this is one hell of a team and we don't need to go nuts after every bad week the Sox have because the first week of this year certainly isn't going to be the last one we have.
  17. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 19, 2006 -> 12:43 AM) How does Thomes stats have anything to do with whether Brian Anderson is ready to be the starting center fielder at the present time? I mean, we'd be better off with our pitcher batting ninth...buerhle would be a better hitter than anderson at this point...how sad is that? To me...putting the ball in play is a far more productive out than striking out. It leaves that small chance...a collision, the sun in the eyes...of something good to come of it...it puts the pressure on the defense. And with crede we were not exactly defending champions...he was brought up at the end of another clear 2nd-3rd place finish...not exactly defending world champions. I don't know how much time we can waste giving the other team 4 free outs and only batting with 8 guys. especially with 1 being pods. but go ahead...praise brian anderson walking...and getting on base 2 in 2 games against the vaunted Royals pitching staff...( i swear its like you might live on the northside) Pods is starting to get on base so I'm not sure where you have been lately. Are you saying that because we're the defending champs we can't break in young players? What do you suggest? Should we spend some more money, is being 4th in the majors in payroll not good enough? The guy has played 11 games this year and you've given up on him, that's ridiculous. You don't give up on a rookie that quick.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) Umm I'm assuming it proves the Bulls would have avoided Detroit regardless of what happened tonight with a win over Toronto since those are from the game wraps after the Orlando game. Unless of course the locals here know more than both of the cities Bulls beat writers. Those articles seem to have been published after the Milwaukee game was already over tonight so I assume that they already had those results in when writing their articles. I'm almost positive that if everyone won out(meaning Milwaukee won tonight) we would have been the 8. EDIT: I'm officially out of it. I was thinking today was monday, my god.
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 11:29 PM) http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...bulls-headlines http://www.suntimes.com/output/sports/cst-spt-bull18.html And that proves...?
  20. Hopefully we get the same Javy who faced the Royals before. Elarton has been solid so far so hopefully our guys can find a way to get to him. Time for the Champs to bring out the brooms again.
  21. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) I've got some time tonight. Explain why im a homer. Because you haven't given up on a very talented player who's in a hitting slump for 11 games. HOMER HOMER HOMER
