  1. QUOTE(go-sox05 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) Bmac is gonna go 7 2/3 with 1bb, 9k's, and 1er. That's a pretty bold prediction. I hope your right.
  2. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 09:28 PM) I agree with the comment. It's so good to see guys make positive statements about our Sox players. Carl has been a team player and wants to contribute. I just wisah there was a way to get him in there more and at the same time see the Big Hurt every game as the DH. But, do we think there is a chance that Frank may get a little playing time at 1B. Konerko will need a rest from time to time and it would be a great way to keep rotating Dye, Everett and Thomas around. HELL NO.
  3. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) I know that many here would jump off the ledge but if we packaged Crede, B-Mac, Anderson and another top guy (Gio, Sweeney, Fields, etc.) for Oswalt and Ensberg I'd jump for joy and clear some time in October I would be shocked at first, then i would jump for joy.
  4. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) We need a reliever so bad it's sick Middle reliever or closer?
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) All-City left fielder Who's the left-fielder on your All-City team? 95.0% Scott Podsednik, White Sox (2284 responses) 0.3% Todd Hollandsworth, Cubs (7 responses) 4.7% Jason Dubois, Cubs (112 responses) 2403 total responses Dubois is making a run I will take care of it.
  6. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Actually Joe crushed a few balls last night I believe, they were just in the vicinity of Drew. Yeah he did. One Drew got a bad jump on and just caught it at the last second. It looked like it was going right off the centerfield fence, but Drew caught up to it.
  7. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Koch had 11 or so with 40 saves before we got him, now that's valauble to a fantasy team Then what happened....
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:32 PM) Well, if you bring in a great closer, then you acquire a great middle reliever by default with Hermanson sliding to the middle reliever role, right? That's pretty much what would happen.
  9. I love it when the Twins lose, period. But when we win on the same day as a twin loss it is a bonus .
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) Well...if you put it on, there might be some residue of the cream on it... Don't forget about the clear....
  11. I hate when players appeal and still get to play. I would change the rule of when you appeal a suspension, you have to sit out until you get the answer back.
  12. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) If you flip-flopped the NL Central and NL West in that list, I'd agree wholeheartedly Cuz there's actually a good team int he NL Central Come on, the NL West has got the Dodgers!
  13. So far we have been catching huge breaks with the opposing teams best players.
  14. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) this is not only a realistic goal, it better damn well happen. three worst road teams in the AL are coming into town in the next four home series...KC (10-22), Tampa (5-28) and Oakland (10-24). The Cubs will be a tough series no matter how much they are struggling right now. But for those four home series Sox should be 9-3. Anything less than a sweep of Tampa would be disappointing, and I just can't see them losing more than three of those games. They also have six road games....three at detroit and three at oakland. A split of those games should be feasible. 12-6 puts us 6 more games over .500....30 over even to be exact, at 58-28. Let's get there, Sox! That would be cool, but lets worry about KC first, just take one game at a time.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) No mention of Joe Randa or any other names for the hot corner? I need two moves for this team. 1) Eddie Guardado for our closer. It will really set up the bullpen nicely. 2) Joe Randa. Perfect hitter for our type of game and he has a great glove. Now what does it take to get these guys? I can't believe either would cost us a whole bunch and definitely not our top of the line guys. I don't know if Seattle still likes Borchard but you can put him in a deal along with others to get Guardado. Guardado has a torn rotator cuff and has been playing with it all season i believe. EDIT:Jun 14 Guardado has been pitching with some elbow discomfort. The Seattle closer already is working with a torn rotator cuff, and it's possible that has put more strain on his pitching elbow. Guardado's shoulder hasn't kept him from putting together an impressive 2005 season. Despite a loss of velocity caused by the shoulder injury, he is 0-1 with 17 saves and a stellar 1.57 ERA.
  16. I would say something jokingly, but just make sure he knows its a joke.
  17. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) As long as we're dreaming...Brad Lidge? That's a dream i wouldn't mind coming true.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) The amazing thing is, there's hardly a person here who doesn't believe that. And I think a majority of people here think that Timo will be the one who stays. Willie deserves to stay with the sox when ross comes back. Timo should leave, but it sounds like that's not going to happen.
  19. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:02 AM) The White Sox were *not* supposed to contend. Most "pundits" think the White Sox are ready for a prime choke job starting about any day now. NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANY TEAM YOU PLAY, NO MATTER HOW BAD. Just take care of one game at a time, and everything else takes care of itself. But the second you start dissing teams, that's when they sneak up on you. Kansas s***ty comes in here with the worst record in baseball. Does that mean an automatic sweep? Hell no. If we think like that, they'll sweep us, sure as hell. One game at a time, friends, the rest will take care of itself *and* NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ANY TEAM YOU PLAY, NO MATTER HOW BAD. Just for emphasis. That was the sox's problem two years ago. When Detroit almost set the record for most losses or something like that, the sox had trouble beating them. I agree, just take one game at a time, and time will tell itself.
  20. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) Cub fans always have to get in on the attention, don't they? There's always a Cub angle in anything baseball related in their eyes. I was listening to the post game show on the score last night and someone called in and was complaing about the ESPN announcers and that they kept talking about the cubs and comparing us to the cubs. I don't know if the announcers were doing it becuase i was at the game. Did this actually happen?
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) Timo for Patterson? That sounds more reasonable. I could live with that one .
  22. This is a pretty commanding lead. Who's the left-fielder on your All-City team? 99.5% Scott Podsednik, White Sox (2200 responses) 0.2% Todd Hollandsworth, Cubs (4 responses) 0.3% Jason Dubois, Cubs (7 responses) 2211 total responses
  23. Who's the left-fielder on your All-City team? 99.2% Scott Podsednik, White Sox (1100 responses) 0.3% Todd Hollandsworth, Cubs (3 responses) 0.5% Jason Dubois, Cubs (6 responses) 1109 total responses I call that success and total domination. Over 1000 votes for me but well worth it.
