  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Why on earth would the Sox sign him? Are you saying this was with another team? Counts health? Implosion of danks and floyd? MB struggles? You can never have too much pitching.
  2. QUOTE (DBAH0 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) Wade for Hughes and the 1st. Would anyone do that (would be fairly close cap wise)? Hinrich Wade Deng Gooden Noah The Bulls could try getting a trade exception from dealing Gordon also possibly. I suppose the lure of having Hinrich and Wade in the same backcourt, Wade would be ballhandling a lot from the SG spot. Getting Rid of Hughes and obtaining wade at the same time? As much as I love Rose, I would be super pissed if Pax did not do a deal like that if it were available.
  3. QUOTE (SouthSidePride05 @ May 31, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) It begins with the last game in Tampa Bay, and we all know how tough they are. They're gonna want to do whatever it takes to win that last game of the series, and with our lack of hitting, we're gonna need another miracle on the mound to take the last game of the series. Then we come home to play KC, and it's almost inevitable there will be an embarrassing turnout for those 3 midweek night games. All the talk in town will be about the amazing Cubs and the buzz they're generating, and with only 22,000 in attendance, bringing them down to #20 in average attendance, it could be very disheartening for the team and I can easily see KC stealing those games. Then we play MIN and DET.. nothing is gonna come easy. What I'm dreading most is the series vs the Cubs. We can't hit a damn thing, it's not a slump, we just can't hit, period. Thome, Konerko, Swisher, all easy strikeouts. I wouldn't be surprised seeing the Cubs getting a no hitter vs us, and that would send 2/3 of this city into a frenzy. The series at the Cell will most likely have more Cubs fans in attendance than Sox fans this year, since they're coming off a playoff appearance, they're in first place, they have the best record in baseball, and our season ticket base has completely dropped off to basically half of what it was in '06. Cubbie chants will probably drown out any Sox chants, it's gonna be a nightmare just to watch on tv. I can just see the Cubs taking off in June, and the Sox dropping out of first, and virtually out of contention. But if we can somehow get out of June and still be around first place, I'm betting on us making the playoffs and beating the Cubs in the World Series!!! Paragraphs are your friend.
  4. How about giving the Rays some credit?
  5. QUOTE (shipps @ May 30, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) I can see alot of arguments happening with a hot chix list.Dude Jessica Alba is sooooooo much hotter than her!!!!!!!!! Go Herpes!
  6. The only stat that matters to me is W-L and the Sox are winning with AJ at # 2.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 30, 2008 -> 12:23 AM) They will. If they were THAT much better than the west (12-3 through the conference playoffs where all 8 teams won 50 games), they are better than an old Detroit team or more likely an also old Boston team. Plus, the Lakers have by far the best player in the world right now. Plus, I think the Pistons will win tomorrow, so it could take Boston an extra 6 games (and at least 5 even if they win) to get to the finals, and that's a lot of extra work for a team with three stars in their 30's. I could be wrong , but I am pretty sure if the celtics made it to the finals with a game 7 victory , they would be the only team to make it to the finals having to play the maximum of 21 potential previous playoff games. Best of 7's for the 1st round started in 2003, so it is quite possible.
  8. wow no cartoon love? Imagine a world with no cartoons?
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 29, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) If Collins is the hire, here's Hollinger's argument as to why it's a poor fit. I agree on most of the article. However, Hollinger actually tried to make an argument that rookie Will Perdue (at the time) deserved more than 190 minutes in a season? lol . Of course he did not mention how collins handled a young Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant.
  10. with the opening win, I want 3 out of 4 now.
  11. PERCIVAL OUT http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3417609
  12. I've never been impressed with sweeney. DLS and Gio were hard to let go for me. But, I was happy before the injury and now this just makes it a lot easier to take. Swisher will come around. When he does, he will be one of our top 3 hitters.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 29, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) I wouldn't hit a woman unless it's like Nicole Bass. I would just take a little bit of a beating and try to block what I could my rule is I would not hit anyone smaller and/or weaker than me, which generally would include the majority of women. But, if Nicole Bass is swinging at me, I'm swinging back.

  15. for someone who plays as Dirty as anyone, Rip Hamilton sure does whine when he gets banged up.
  16. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 28, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) Cabrera's a crybaby. Renteria's a scumbag. Exactly. Cabrera as a cyrbaby does not make Renteria any less of a scumbag.
  17. This 'Pen Actually has me excited about our chances this season. The Entire League is up for grabs.

  20. coming out of situations like this will define what tier you belong in as a closer. 1st tier or 2nd tier.
