  1. Before I even read the entire title, I immediately thought Johan Santana.
  2. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 07:13 PM) It might be a little different when you're discounting the first few games of his major league career. I would say it is.
  3. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) Its not like he is wrong...IMO What team doesn't have holes? (maybe NE) Green Bay has wr's, but they have more question marks than the bears.
  4. agree with it or not, but that just adds fuel to the fire of all the theories, of the whole thing not ever happening. Not sure what to think, to be honest...
  5. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:11 PM) Not sure what that has to do with anything. It's an all-star game in St. Louis. All the dignitaries on the field were wearing Cardinals jackets... except Obama. Fans didn't like it. I'm sure they were expecting him to 'respect' the home team by wearing something Cardinals related. He didn't and they booed. Don't read more into it than that. Nobody boos the president at events like this for political reasons. We should agree to disagree.
  6. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:13 PM) Except last year when Bush got boo'ed at the nationals home opener. http://mlb.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?content_id=5571893 exactly anyway Obama postgame interview on mlb network. Will talk about the Sox http://mlb.mlb.com/news/press_releases/pre...sp&c_id=mlb
  7. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) His approval ratings are at an all time low??? He's at 61% positive. Bush spent 2 years below 30%. HIS approval ratings. I'm not talking about Bush, and we were just told not to talk politics in here.
  8. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 09:56 PM) Maybe everyone in Chicago. Out here nyc area they do. When ever I mention I'm a sox fan people ask me how long Obama has been a fan. Obama has not exactly hid his team allegiance you know. Maybe they live under a rock in St Louis? I doubt they don't know he's a White Sox fan.
  9. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) Nah. I'm certain it was because he wasn't wearing a Cardinals jacket while throwing out the first pitch. That makes no sense. Everyone knows he's a sox fan.
  10. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) that was awesome! esp bcuz buck said that he was a sox fan and some people booed obama for wearing a sox jacket and not a cards one I HIGHLY doubt he was booed for his jacket. Without getting to political, his approval ratings are at an all time low. Really cool to see him represent us though. Also really cool Joe Buck referred to us as the "Sox" and not Boston.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 11:43 AM) Griese was released by TB. He knows the Bears' system and would be a better backup than Hanie. Please no.
  12. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) He won't be available on Sundays, he'll be at confession. umm what?
  13. cue the bad jokes! It makes sense that the neighbor closed the door, we all know Billy Koch is incapable of closing the door. Zing!
  14. of course I would wear a cubs shirt
  15. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 02:01 AM) I really doubt they would fire him at this time, and I dont see it anywhere as it would be quite big news, so nicely I say i think your full of it or you heard bad source, but hey we could find out your right LOL he was right http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4325783
  16. ^^^^ I really would be reluctant to trading Alexei, but you gotta do it if we could get Halladay and Rolen back without giving much more than Alexei. Edit: noticed poreda was a part of it too, I would still do it, but it would be pretty hard.
  17. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 01:02 AM) I went there friday for the whole thing, and it just felt weird -- baseball inside? I'm used to it on TV, but in person it didn't feel right. The people weren't bad or rude or anything, though. What AC trick? http://www.redorbit.com/news/general/62434...wins_tampering/ http://www.cheatersguidetobaseball.com/200...k-and-ron-gant/
  18. Yeah, that is pretty lame. Between that and the AC system trick they pull, nothing surprises me. f*** the Twins.
  19. QUOTE (dbaho @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 05:13 AM) What's the tax difference though b/w the US and Canada (well the max tax bracket anyways). Bosh to Dallas won't happen come 2010 because of them re-signing Kidd, signing Marion and probably Gortat so they won't have the cap space for him. Depending on how the Raps do this season (and i think they'll come 7th or 8th in the East as things stand ATM), Bosh could maybe stay with them, because otherwise there's only really Miami or New York to go to. Of course you won't put the bulls in there, you never do. Hater.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 10:55 AM) If a guy spends his whole career with one team, is successful, means a lot to the community, and is a quality person, I don't see why not. It's their franchise.
  21. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:55 AM) You think he wouldnt make more money in endorsements in Chicago rather than Toronto? Did not think about that. Good point.
  22. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 12:32 AM) Crede may not be the player he once was, and he wasn't great with us by any means. But the man played a huge role in the stretch and post season run in 2005 and I believe he deserves a bit more respect than just saying he sucks. When the Sox hold a reunion of the team in 2025, you young guys will be hitting your feet for Joe Crede because you will remember what he did and it's very possible that 2005 may be the only World Series victory you have ever experienced at that time. I was 47, almost 48, years old when I saw my first Sox WS Championship. I appreciate those guys. Each and every one of them. Crede, more than most. Good post. I never understood crapping on our 2005 guys, now or ever.
