QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) If you don't like the post or posters, ignore them. Cool down man, seriously. Why don't you get a gf? I told you already. Get some fresh air.

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Fighting over topics on a message board? Seriously? I don't mind debating with Heads22 or chisoxygirl for that matter. I just hate when random posters have no real opinion and post something meaningless. Like, "both states suck" . If you don't like the topic, then move on.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Iowa is better in my opinion, because I enjoy being close to large cities with a plethora of things to do. I want to be able to drive a few hours and be able to see museums with a good collection of art, artifacts, etc. I DON'T want to be somewhere where the best thing to do all during the fall is go to football games. I think that's as good a reason as any to choose Iowa over the Nebraska--closer to a big cultural center. And when a state's biggest city is sometimes the football stadium on game nights--yeah, I think I'd rather be closer to Minneapolis' great local music scene, the Art Institute, the Sox, the Amana colonies (for a nice weekend getaway), Chicagos' good theatre scene, and all of that. I think that is as good a reason as "I went to school there so that means NE is exempt from all bad talk." And for the record, I would still choose NE as the worse state if I had never dated my ex--his being from there (and meeting his odd, close-minded and judgemental extended family) is really just extra push into the choosing IA side. Ok, I see you're point of view. That was what I was looking for. I look at it in a different perspective mainly because, I live in chicago. Nearby cities do not excite me as much. If I am traveling through Iowa and Nebraska it is to get away.

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) THIS IS A JOKE: Q: You know what the "N" stands for on Nebraska's helmets? A: Knowledge!!! I heard that one. Not funny really. Look at the facts http://www.unl.edu/pr/notables/athletics.html

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) There's no game today. And I used the green font like you told me to do. It was a joke, jeez. No hard feelings. I was joking too.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) Well, if it's plural as in fonts, then I would have to use them, not it. Nebraska education. Go back to you're game thread

QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 02:13 PM) ranger, don't be such a b****. Spiff No one is talking to you. If you want to call me out , PM me and we can arrange something.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) What? That makes no sense. You obviously aren't understanding the term "opinion," and my opinion is I would rather be in Iowa because of it's proximity to other more fun places. I'm searching to understand you're opinion better. You are definately entitled to you're opinion.I just expected a more superior answer from you. Iowa is better because you got you're heart broken in Nebraska? Iowa is better because it is closer to Madison and Chicago? Based on prior topics/posts I have read from you, I know you are very astute. I'm sorry I expected a stronger opinion from you.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) Everyone knows Nebraskans are colorblind... All they can see is Red and Hunters Orange. I'm not a nebraskan. I lived there. Btw why do you always use pink fonts?
-
QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Iowa is close to the Twin Cities, within a few hours from Chicago and Madison. If you have 5 hours to drive in Iowa you could go cool places--drive 5 hours from Nebraska and you're still in suck central. with that theory, North Dakota must be great too. Nebraska is not much further from Cities as Chicago, Kansas City, and Denver. Try harder chisoxy girl, I know you are capable of it.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:56 PM) You're taking things a little too seriously, my friend. It was a joke and nothing more. green fonts. use it.
-
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) Does everyone realize you're arguing who is the suckier of the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked? I don't understand you're comment. I have lived in chicago 75 % of my life and I am telling you Nebraska is a great place. Iowa and Nebraska suck based on what? What you seen when you drove trough? What you heard? Tell me. Have you actually spent more than a few days in either state?
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Well, if you want to go by the people it draws, the Iowa State Fair smashes the CWS to fine powder. Iowa has great gambling, fishing, hunting, etc. understand, I have no beef with Iowa. I am just defending the place where I spent 4 years of my life. I am sure the people of Iowa are just as great as the people of Nebraska. I am sure Notre Dame fans can tell you (when Nebraska visited South Bend) Nebraska fans are classy and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. It reflects on the majority of the state. I had plenty of good times out there.

what does Iowa have that is bigger than the College World series? Love them or hate them The nebraska Cornhuskers are one of the winningest/storied programs in Ncaa history. That in itself gives sports fans attractions in Lincoln to stop by and see. They even have decent Gambling out there. Anyone go to Aksarben? The fishing and Hunting are great when you head out to Western Nebraska. Don't just bash Nebraska, People. Get you're facts straight.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 11:30 PM) Dated a Nebraskan. His family (mostly mom) hated me, mother would do rosaries anytime she saw me, occassionally throwing me a nasty glance before or after she would dive in. And he was kind of spinless and boring. And he refused to listen to anything but crappy smooth jazz anytime we went for a car ride. And he wore leather gloves while drive Autumn through Spring. :rolly what a good reason to pick Iowa.

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Nebraska, at least Iowa is NEAR places that don't suck. I also, though, have a small grudge against Nebraskans. Like what places? Omaha? Omaha is in Nebraska. everything sucks in Iowa. At least Nebraska has a city. Omaha's population is very comparable to plenty US cities.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) I think the fact is that a lot of people were saying that the Sox were going to have to score a lot of runs to beat the likes of the yankees and bosox if we get in the postseason. Our pitching completely shut these guys down and that's without our 2 aces. I have all the respect in the world for that yankees offense. With that said, I am very pleased with our back end of the rotation.

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) True it was just a series but take the name away and the games were still tight exciting games. Understand your feelings just nice wins overall though. I understand the poll too. It's hard to say it is just another series. I just wish that's the attitude we can have. If the yankees were a first place team we should make a bigger deal out of it.
-
I don't know why we need a poll for "series mvp" against the yankees. It's just another series. Who cares about the yankees. We should not act like espn and hype up the yankees all the time. just my 2 cents

best sox games I attended Minny vs sox. Robbie alomor and carl everetts debut. PK with game tying homer in bottom of 9th. Frank with game winning HR (his 2nd that night) off Eddie Guardado. Sox vs cubs Miguel Olivo hits grand slam in the 1st inning.
