  1. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 01:57 PM) Are you suggesting that Frank should grow a mullet? I could only imagine.
  2. Eli was just a shadow of his former self without Plaxico. Sign Him!
  3. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 01:03 PM) collins was the best fielder of his era along with being a fantastic base stealer. greatest 2B in history > greatest DH in history Greatest Hitter in White Sox History> Greatest Fielder in White Sox History
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) MJ, the Admiral, and Stockton are this year's HOF class. anyone think MJ deserved to be 1st ballot?
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:30 PM) I'd be game for trying the things you just suggested...more screening than a simple background check when people try to buy them. wow... that's it? A compromise in the filibuster? I was expecting to get flamed.
  6. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) frank had 8600 plate appearances for the sox, collins 7400. that's close enough for comparison. If you compare White Sox Careers: Thomas has a higher OBP, OPS and SLG %. He also has more Hits,Walks, Total Bases, Runs,RBI, HR,Doubles and extra base hits. Collins has Thomas on Batting Average and Stolen bases. Checkmate
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:24 PM) Then you'd be for gun laws that are vastly stricter than what currently exist in this country. If there was an easy solution for guns to be in deserving hands without banning them altogether or creating a doorway to ban them altogether, then sure, I would agree with you.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:11 PM) The point is fairly simple. If you want to argue absolutes, such that any restriction at all on guns is totally equivalent to a complete banning of all of them, then that also implies that any restriction at all on speech is totally equivalent to a ban on talking. I responded with an example where, for public safety, we have abridged the right to free speech. Hardly anyone would dispute that people do not have a right to endanger people's lives using words. Thus, you shout fire in a crowded theater, people die in the stampede, and you go to jail. The right to free speech is therefore not absolute. Similarly, we can't pretend that the 2nd amendment is absolute and that you should have the right to bear whatever weaponry you wish under whatever circumstances you wish. I, for one, am not a gun owner. I just feel there will be consequences when you take freedoms away and put too much control in government. There are plenty of responsible gun owners, we should not lose our freedoms due to isolated incidents. You could kill a crowd of people with a H3 Hummer too, how about banning over sized vehicles and kitchen knives for public safety? I'm all for strict screening processes, mental evaluations and re-evaluations.
  9. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) If you go on Ebay you can get an authentic one for like 70 bucks. Now Im assuming they have to be knock offs because of the price, but Ive gotten one and know quite a few others that have and they seem perfect to me. They have everything stiched on and even the elastic down the sides. They already have Cutler jerseys as well. I agree. Knockoff + 250 Bucks in my pocket > Authentic
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 12:04 PM) You can't shout fire in a crowded theater. You can't shoot in a crowded theater either. I don't get your point. Let's just go down the constitution and see what cool rights we can take away.

    PS3 Owners

It's pretty awesome, though I've been pretty spoiled with HD and PS3 Blu ray, any way to find high quality movies out there?
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 10:49 AM) You just said this was bigger than the Bears getting to the Super Bowl in 06. You are now not allowed to post in this thread. I seriously meant bigger than all those moves combined. although, Perdue for Rodman kicked ass.
  13. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 07:54 AM) WTF do I know? http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/...es-above-bench/ You know how to twist my words around. I specifically said greatest White Sox player, not greatest career. Collins played half his career with a different uniform. Are you going to throw Carlton, Seaver and Griffey Jr. at me too?
  14. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 11:02 PM) Being discussed in FutureSox forum what's that?
  15. QUOTE (Chet Lemon @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 01:23 PM) This is awesome. Two weekends ago, I kept telling everyone the Sox were going to get Gobble b/c of their infatuation w/ the KC 'pen. Although I was saying that as a joke to make people laugh. that's pretty awesome lol
  16. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 01:37 PM) I think the excitement level is really attached to the possibilities that Cutler gives the Bears. Chicago doesn't know what a franchise QB looks like, and now that we have one it makes us believe everything about our team will become exponentially better. I think you'll expectations become a little bit more reasonable by the time the season starts, but right now people have to realize that Jay Cutler alone is not going to win us Superbowls. The Broncos didn't even make the playoffs last year. We would have with Cutler. I say Cutler would have been worth 2-3 more wins.
  17. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) It was pretty exciting when the Sox got Thome, when the Bulls got Rodman, and I am told when the Cubs got Nomar it was like this. The Bears going to the Superbowl was pretty crazy too This is bigger than all those combined to me.
  18. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 09:53 AM) 1. he wasn't the greatest player who ever played for the sox, that would be eddie collins riggght
  19. check this out http://www.pro-football-reference.com/lead...ngle_season.htm King Cutler is 17th for most passing yards in a single season. That's more than Favre ever had, and Peyton Manning has only one season with more yards than Cutler's 4,526. I know it's just one stat category, but DAMN. Is he really just 25?
  20. Just saying... I don't want what happened to Fisk to happen to Frank.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) Do I need to edit mine? What does that accomplish? Its a silly gimmick that means nothing. Then the entire sport of baseball is a gimmick if that's the way you want to look at it.
  22. Maybe our organization should stop acting 2nd class. Many here (including myself) get annoyed at ESPN being east coast biased. Maybe they pay more attention to the Red Sox and Yanks because they are a class above us. At least we have mullet night
  23. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 4, 2009 -> 01:35 PM) I would love to see the Big Hurt back here in a Sox uniform. But, remmeber this is the same organization that let Fisk go during the 1993 season Unfortunately, you may be right. I wish the sox would show a little more class.
