  1. What's ridiculous is how anyone would consider a naked body "indecent." Bunch of repressed whiners with too much time on their hands. It's a penis(or vagina). If it were alabaster or on canvas, it would be considered world-class art. But live, it's indecent? What a stupid waste of court time and tax dollars.
  2. He died? Not surprised, I guess--he was a big fat man. Brandofan must be in mourning?
  3. Something I read today that I did not realize: Garland is excellent on the road, but pretty awful at home. What's that about?
  4. Hmm, OK, thats a lot more convincing. I may have to rethink this one
  5. One whole game? Sign him immediately.
  6. I do not want that fat, gimp-kneed, overpaid, strikeout-prone, locked up for 3 more years chump, Andruw Jones, on the Sox.
  7. Cabrera's BA and OBP are quite a bit worse on grass than on turf. $7 million a year for a .265 hitter with very little power? Why? I may be the most anti-Crede guy around, but even I'm taking note of his resurgence, and would wait and see what happens with him over the whole season. Can't pencil Uribe in at SS for the next 10 years yet, either. He's in a funk right now, and with no real track record to go off of, I'd like to see what he does the rest of the year as well.
  8. That looks to me like a repeat of last weekend--lose the first one, then win the next two. I have confidence in young Felix.
  9. Agreed. Would anyone have a problem with removing Ligue from society and making him a permanent test subject for research labs? Or just launching him into outer space? Would anyone object to this?
  10. It's too damned hot there to root passionately. Every time they do the wave at that place, 5 people collapse from heat exhaustion.
  11. Wind-aided? In a dome? Was that supposed to be in green, Mikey?
  12. Screw all this talk about Ortiz, or Benson, or Randy Johnson. Here's the guy I want, he should be ready after 4-5 starts: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1831633
  13. I read somewhere that Bavasi told the Yankees that he was not trading Moyer under any circumstances.
  14. I think I speak for all the guys on this board when I say, "Where the hell were these kind of teachers when I was in 8th Grade?!"
  15. So I am bored, and went and did some research on our newest Latino addition. Here are some numbers that may be interesting: (Based on 2001-2003 stats) His ERA is better in day games by almost a full run vs. night games. The Sox haven't done so well in day games in recent years, incl. the fun series with Seattle in 2000. He is terrible on turf and in domes. The Anti-Baldwin has an ERA over 6.00 in either condition. I would guess most pitchers are worse on turf though. His worst month historically? July His best month? June 2nd best month? September His career ERA at US Cellular is his 6th best out of all the stadiums he's pitched in(3.54 in 3 starts) His ERA at the Metrodome? 8.27 in 3 starts Which two teams historically have hit him the hardest? Kansas City (.317 BA) and Detroit(.294 BA) Who can't hit him? Baltimore(.180 BA) What about the Cubs? .185 BA.
  16. Why would the Cubs want him? Unless they are seriously down on Corey "Where's the ball at?" Patterson.

    Commission %

6% is pretty average. You can find some as low as 3%, but 5-6% is about the norm. Most realtors will give a discount if the buyer and seller are using the same agent.
  18. I think that article echoed the sentiments of the stupid, unrealistic fans/players -- every team has them. What the Sox offered is as good as they were going to get for a pitcher in the last year of his contract. Sorry Edgar, you ain't getting Jason Schmidt, or Radke, or Kerry Wood for Freddy. And the fans should get over it, the M's are toast this year. Bavasi is doing the right thing by rebuilding, and to start with, he gets a young MLB-ready catcher, a A-level outfield prospect, and another DH/1B for down the road. Hopefully the majority of Seattle-ites realize why this move had to be made, and what a good job Bavasi did in maximizing his return.

    More Idiots

I'm so tired of these jagoffs: http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-copbeaten29.html
  20. I can't imagine there being a WORSE radio man than Santo. He has no business doing play by play or color--he's completely incompetent.
  21. We won't give Mags $12 mil, but we'll pay Jones $15 mil? Something doesn't make sense there.
  22. In Gammons' article from May 28th, it says that the Mariners "aren't even going to attempt to re-sign Garcia after this season." Somebody's fibbin'
  23. I dont think I like the Atlanta deal, neither Jones nor Ortiz sit well with me--more of a hunch than anything. Well, Jones' contract for one....
  24. I dont think so. He's a cornerstone of their rebuilding process, and Atlanta demanded he be included in the deal for Millwood.
  25. Yes, but the Tribe has another catcher that I believe may be almost as good as Martinez sitting on the DL. Josh Bard. Wasn't he supposed to be a masher AND a good receiver? Or, why not one of the 52 Molina brothers in Anaheim?
