But how does that work, given that Kerry hasn't done anything to judge him on? I mean, many(assumedly all) Anti-Bush people base their "anybody but George" sentiments on things that he has said/done during his presidency. But how can you say anyone but Kerry if he hasn't done anything yet?
-
OK, so how is this a reason to support Bush? Even though you're probably right, the fact that Bush would like to make it illegal doesn't bother you? Please explain what you mean by "legal can of worms" This doesn't sound like much of a vote of confidence for the current president Oh, now I think I see where you're coming from. Why would a change in administration heighten/lessen our chances of being hit by terrorists? To paraphrase what Alex said in another thread, politics has little to do with how the economy is doing, and the factors making up the economy are so many and complicated that there's never a reason to tie your vote for president to how the current economy is doing. But, using your line of thinking, I would then ask what about the first 3.5 years of his administration? The economy was terrible, and it can't be blamed solely on Sept. 11. So then, you're not really a Bush supporter, are you? If, say, Kerry was the incumbent, and Bush was running against him, would you vote for Kerry for the sake of stability?

Honest Question for the Pro-Bushies: What specifically has been done over the last four years that makes you pleased with the direction the country is going, hopeful for the future, etc.? I'd like to hear the reasons for Bush-love.

I will go to my grave calling them the greatest punk band that has ever existed. Give all the props in the world to the likes of the Ramones and Sex Pistols for doing it first, but if you take the chronology out of the equation, I don't think it's even close. Neither the SP's or Ramones had 1)A singer that could actually sing. 2) The creativity to try and infuse punk with both jazz and blues(see the aforementioned "Libido" or "Mr. Gridlock") or 3)Three guys that could actually play their instruments.

If I may throw a couple pennies in here. I don't think "great band" is at all synonymous with "nationally recognized." Chicago's greates legacy in music, IMO is in punk rock, if not blues(just depends on your tastes is all). The Effigies, RotA, Bhopal Stiffs, Naked Raygun, Pegboy, Screeching Weasel, Tar, etc. in the 80's-90's up through The Arrivals, Mexican Cheerleader, The Mashugunas(sp?) today kicked the crap out of MOST stuff from either NY or Orange County. Especially today. Compare Mexican Cheerleader's debut cd to anything by Blink 182, then smash your head against the wall as you try to figure out why Blink are all millionaires while MC still plays the Fireside.

It's funny how you guys suck!

I bet if you gave the Sox a 3-1 head start, they could win a 4th before the Marlins do. -
I once dated a girl with the name nickname. It didn't last long.

He IS the hispanic Corey Feldman.

David Cronenberg's "Spider" was unwatchable unless you happen to be on Ritalin. Bubba Ho-Tep was the worst rental I've ever made. This piece of crap is starting to get some buzz as a cult classic, and I have no idea why. It's completely stupid, and not even bad enough to be good.

Ah, ya big baby. Don't sweat it, it's nothing.

Do not fear the allergist. When I was younger, I had allergies to EVERYTHING. Every fall and spring brought 8 weeks of misery. Then I went to the allergist, and he had me get these shots over the course of a year or so. Once a week, tiny little needle. Now, I am completely allergy-free. I can't explain how, but I have no allergic reaction to cats, pollen, mites, molds, anything. Best decision my parents ever made for me.

Disheartening Article: Magglios GAWN in 05.

I don't know where you're getting these figures. Based on 2004 salaries, the average cost for a #1 starter is 6.6 million. Take out the Yankees and Red Sox, and the number drops to under 6 million. -

Why would any team allot 60% for pitching and 40% for hitting? On a 25 man roster, less than half are pitchers, and a handful of them are short-relief, non-closer pitchers--some of the cheapest players in baseball. You have 8 hitters that start and play everyday(9 if your an AL team), and thus command more money. I would think the percentages would be the other way around. -
Those were some pretty lame puns.

Who was the "playoff-tested, top of the rotation ace" on either last year's Marlins or the preceeding year's Angels?
-
I would always be open to acquiring a closer with WS experience.

I like the fact that we'd have a completely non-english speaking unit closing out ballgames. Marte in the 7th, Takatsu in the 8th, Contreras in the 9th. The Sox would need to shave more payroll, to make up for all the translators they'd need to pay.

A couple points: 1) Milwaukee is NOT a push-over this season. Especially if one of those games involves Sheets. 2) Minny lost their season series with Tampa, so maybe they're the team that plays down to the level of competition this year. Give them as many lower-level teams as possible, in that case. 3) Take a look at the Sox's schedule in August and Sept. Now smile, and think back to the gauntlet they had to run last year at that time. Not this year...........

Opening July 6th in a theatre near you, Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito star in the long awaited sequel to their smash-hit comedy, Throw Momma from the Train -- "Throw Sharbat from the Train"

Even though they give you anti-histamines et al afterwards, I'd still rather have it done in the afternoon after work. You dont want to deal with the itching at work all day, and with all the marker dots on your arms, your coworkers may think your an obsessive-compulsive heroin addict or something.

It's no disrespect, it's the way it is. There are only a handful of Japan league players right now that could start in the MLB. On the other hand, there are probably only a handful of MLB'ers that wouldn't start in Japan. I believe Joe Crede is one of them....

You'll probably be given a "scratch test," assuming they still do this. In a scratch test, they will put a bunch of dots on the underside of your forearms with marker. Then, they will place a droplet of a different known allergen on each of the dots. Then, they will scratch your skin at each of the dots, to let the allergen react with your blood. After awhile, it will be obvious as to which things you are allergic to, and which your not. The test is completely painless, you'll just have some itching and redness on your arms afterwards. It takes a little while, but not HOURS, IIRC. They are probably doing some blood tests and other basic stuff too.

Don't forget that Garcia and Guillen know and like each other pretty well.
