  1. Ahead of Porcello BTW. And Carter, Cunningham and Gio make the list.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) This game is why college basketball > anything but baseball I like to throw playoff hockey and college football in there, but pretty much correct. College bball is entertaining to the highest degree.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) On rivals during the final recruiting day this year, they had a 2010 top250 and the guy is Dillon Baxter- he was 13th overall but the #1 RB. Are you sure that wasnt the top 250 to watch? They havent ranked the players for 2010 yet.
  4. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 06:32 PM) There is top notch health care in the United States. But it's insanely expensive. It's completely unaffordable to a lot of people. Im just saying, which is worse for the US, this one case where someone slipped through the cracks, or an entirely broken health care system that denies treatment to large numbers of people because its not their "right." I find our healthcare system to be much more bold statement on the disregard for human life that Tex mentioned above than than this one case.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) USC has a verbal committment from the #1 RB in 2010. #1 ranked by who? They havent ranked players yet for 2010.
  6. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 06:35 PM) Anyone play Call of Duty World at War on PS3 Tag Soxpranos I do. THE_Rockraines for me.
  7. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 05:31 PM) Still have a ways to go to catch up to Texas and their 11 commits already. Usually by the end of March Texas is finished with 90% of their class. Crazy. They are a different animal. Texas boys commit to the U early and often.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 06:04 PM) Yea but they won't as good defensively. Consider him the Brian Anderson of 2B (but better defensively) Lillibridge is good, but he's a better defensive SS/CF. Nix on the other hand is just a ridiculous defensive 2B. If he could ever hit, his defense would be the best in the league. You don't get praises from scouts like "He's the best defensive 2B I've ever seen" or "I've seen many great players defensively at that position, but this kid is just in another world" for nothing. (though I do consider those over the top) I don't blame the Rockies on giving up on him though. He can't hit. There's still hope giving his AAA numbers from last season, but I'm not holding my breath. So we have effectively 3 all world defensive players that cant hit a lick at the major league level.
  9. Bucks got their 4th commit for 2010 in LB David Durham from Austin (TX) Oh, you thought there was a downtime in FB recruiting?
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 09:29 AM) But you have seen in a nutshell how to beat the Hawks. Slow, methodical, physical, and 60 minutes. These are the type of teams the Hawks really need to focus for an entire 60 minutes to beat. I will say they deserved better in this one though. They played a good game, and had a bunch of chances. Their goalie stood on his head, and that high stick goal I still don't believe. I wonder what they were looking at in Toronto to count that one. They dominated them and the Wild got a goal that wasnt really a goal. usually the Wild gives their offense trouble, but it took a ridiculous game by their goalie to keep them in it yesterday. The Hawks can face those teams in the playoffs and win, it may just take a game longer.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 04:51 PM) I've seen mocks that have the Bears picking these guys: Tyson Jackson (please no) Vontae Davis (eh) Maclin (I'd drool if he fell) Heyward-Bey (wouldn't mind it) Oher (please) Michael Johnson (please no) Larry English (not a 4-3 DE) I'd rather we go Oher in the 1st then Robiskie or Britt in the round 2, but if a team wants to trade up I'd do it in a heartbeat. This isnt homerism because for the most part I didnt like him at OSU, but Robiskie could be a pretty good fit for the Bears. He can stretch the field, runs good routes and can catch the ball in traffic.
  12. QUOTE (Texsox @ Feb 22, 2009 -> 10:58 PM) No. The problem is the limiters and the very poor execution of installing and making certain the people know how they work. The other problem is people who do not mind living in a country where people just freeze to death in their homes. There are many third world countries where that is a reality. I guess we could devolve into that kind of nation, with a disregard for human life. On the flip side, there are many "third world" countries that have better healthcare than us, so Im not sure which is a worse disregard for human life.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 04:13 PM) Assuming Owens and Getz get spots in the starting lineup, Viciedo goes to the Minors and the Sox go with 12 pitchers that leaves 4 bench spots. The backup catcher and Betemit are locks so there are two open spots. Out of Lillibridge, Nix, Wise and Anderson who are you taking? Nix is out of options right? So I take Nix and Lilli and option BA back down since he still has one, and I send Wise to the bus stop.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) Michigan State at #9 is a bigger joke than Missouri at #8. However, Memphis at #4 is a borderline travestyshamockery. That is inexcuseable on the voters part. The polls this season have become more irrelevant as the season goes on. They have NO idea who should be ranked where. Its a total crapshoot this year.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) So you agree, they are both terrible. In that case you take the guy who can play CF over the guy who can't. JOke will be the CF and Anderson should be the 4th OF at the very least. Thats the thing. If BA doesnt start, doesnt that roster spot for the 4th OF go to Lillibridge?
  16. I'd rather have Jim Edmonds old slow legs than Jerry Owens in CF.
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:41 PM) Except one of them is 4 years younger, still has potential and can play elite defense at 3 positions. I'm not about ready to give up on Brian after only 2 major league seasons, 1 as a platoon player and the other as a sporadic bench player. Of course I don't expect everyone to feel the same way. Well, he is on the cusp of 27 years old when prospect status starts vanishing. Its actually hard to believe that BA and Q have played the same number of games at this point in their careers.
  18. If I was to tell you that a team was going into the season with the starting 5 having career ERA's of the below, would you peg them as div champs? 3.48 4.40 4.55 3.23 (oft injured) 4.62
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:38 PM) alot of people are saying how much the cubs will miss mark derosa...and they will miss his .857 OPS from last year (even though I dont think he'll match that, especially not in the AL) but a guy nobody is mentioning that they might miss even more is jim edmonds...in about 300 PA last year edmonds had a .370 obp and a .937 OPS for them with 19 HR and 17 2b....edmonds probably won't do that again, but between derosa and edmonds thats alot of production bradley and miles will have to make up for Both Edmonds and DeRosa were two of their best hitters last year. They are losing alot on that side of the ball. When Bradley gets hurt, they are going to have some gaping holes in the outfield.
  20. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) And here's why that .33 point difference means absolutely nothing especially with such a small sample size: BB% Wise: 5.8% Brian: 5.2% ISO: Wise: .202 Brian: .204 The difference between Wise and Anderson last year was a HBP and a singles. So in other words there was no difference. Given the rather large difference in age and talent I can't think of a single reason to keep Wise over Anderson. You take the better player regardless. In other words, they both suck.
  21. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:28 PM) I meant no ill will. Just wanted to add an addendum to my post. To be honest, I think BA is a great defensive player, but I feel like we have CF'ers in our system right now that could probably hit better than him. The problem is that in ST he will rake, we will all think he is turning the corner, and then he hits .230-.240
  22. QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) lol yea, looks weird credepopsup Learn it twins fans.
  23. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:21 PM) Show me. Then give me a few good reasons why Wise should make the team not why Brian shouldn't. Sorry, you edited after I replied. And I dont think ANYONE could find a reason why Wise should make the team, I think you are trying to make my initial post something it wasnt.
  24. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 23, 2009 -> 02:21 PM) Show me www.google.com for next time BA .232 .272 .709 Wise .248 .293 .742 +.16 in BA +.21 in OBP +.33 in OPS both terrible, Wise slightly outperformed BA. Both arent major league hitters.
