QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 1, 2009 -> 06:33 PM) Hate to say it, but after watching MSU and now PSU take it up the ass today (not to mention OSU's performance in the last two championship games), it's becoming quite clear that the Big-10 simply can't hang with schools that are more skilled/athletic. Thats a huge farce. There isnt a team in the country that could hang with USC when they play well. They have easily the best defense in the country, have consistently top recruiting classes and played most of their tough matchups at home. Saying the reason the B10 teams havent beaten USC or the last two national champions have nothing to do with speed, athleticism or any of that generality crap, these are the best teams in the nation you mentioned. USC could beat Fla and Ok, would that mean the B12 and SEC arent very athletic as well? And BTW, OSU probably didnt deserve to play in the title game last season and whenever you put a team that isnt as good as the other team in a game its going to look like one team was outclassed, and you will have alot of analysts saying things about athleticism etc when it comes down to a poor matchup. -

Oh snap, WSOX99 pwns. Iowa scored about 99 percent of their points on 3's today, kept me on the edge of my seat. -
BTW, DeRosa is really good and I hate to have him in Cle, and the Cubs will miss him a TON.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 01:01 PM) fits right in with the rest of those PED toons. So Hendry might turn Marquis, SteroiDosa, and trash for Bradley, Peavy, Miles, and Vizcaino. Not too shabby I suppose. How does this help them get Peavy? They are trying to save money to sign Bradley and that should eat a big chunk of their payroll and they still have crap to trade for Peavy.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 11:05 AM) Dez is going to have a tougher time next year. Pettigrew is going to be gone, and Okie State doesn't have any other legit threats down the field. But you are also basing that on them actually having to face teams with defense, which of course is not really the case. -
Obsessed with (the lack of) Sox off-season moves?

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 10:29 AM) I'm pretty sure they have 2 million pretty much a lock for 2009. I don't know about suite renewals. That is one area that probably will take a huge hit. I do agree that they are playing with fire IF KW is being straight and they do lower payroll as much as they have. If they don't win, it will bring attendance back to "The Kids Can Play" era. Talking about being broke and asking people who are facing losing a job and/or other financial crisises for more money usually doesn't work. If the Sox don't win, the $.50 vs. $1.00 argument will be one heard by every ticket rep a year from now when the renewal rate goes bad. If attendance lags early for walk up sales, they will put back in the half price nights, family deals, etc which will always help numbers. The Sox have been through hard times with the team, the economy and the competition from the cubs and have always come out ok. -

I dont see us having a big drop off in attendance this year at all, season tickets renewed at about 100 percent plus walk up and weather fans. I think the team will be in it into the summer which helps as well. I dont forsee a huge drop off. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 07:16 AM) You can copy DVDs to the PS3's hard drive? That's legal? If so, that's pretty bad ass. I rip my dvd's onto my pc then over my wireless connection save them to my PS3. I also saved about 20 epi's of entourage, a bunch of Family guy, lost, HIMYM, Always Sunny etc to my PS3 as well. I have multiple seasons of each one on there now and I can sort them by season. It plays at a very high quality as well which surprised me. Once again showing that the PS3 is a media center with tons of possibilities outside of just playing games and Blu-ray disks.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) Dez Bryant is oh so special. Biletnikoff winner next year, no doubt, or at least the odds-on favorite. He's damn good. What I liked about him is his desire to play and help his team. He was arguing with coaches to let him play last night through an injury. -
The Rocks are getting a possible back of the rotation guy and the Cubs are getting yet another reliever with control issues. I would say Hendry got fleeced pretty good on this again. They are essentially paying Gas-Canino over 5 million to pitch for them.

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) that hit on Robinson when he swept to the outside nearly broke him in half. they hit him all day during the game. I was surprised he stayed in. Oregon's QB trucked about 4 Ok St db's during the game as well. I dont think OK St expected a defense like the one they saw. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 31, 2008 -> 07:52 AM) Jack in the Box is excellent. Easily my favorite fast food burger. their tacos are dominant

No comments on the Oregon Ok St game huh? Awesome game last night. Oregon's defense just pounded Ok St all night and it paid off. -

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 04:57 PM) Except in the fun game part. The DS has original titles, the PSP started out with a bunch of ports and couldnt really get off the ground. Plus, Nintendo already had a good foothold with Gameboy Advance I really meant in technology, I have no idea what games it has.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) It's the media's game of the year pick for a reason (and mine too). It's really, really good. Imagine Youtube in video game form and you have Little Big Planet. Extremely innovative. I played a demo version on the store today and it was ridiculous. I have a feeling its a time consumer and im already tied up in call of duty

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 04:38 PM) Goodbye PSP it says its a maybe. Hard to believe actually, it dominates the DS in every possible way, but people just wont buy it.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Wow, I thought he was the OC and the other guy was their defensive coordinator. Shows you how much I follow the Patriots coaching changes. In that case, I'd take Mangini over Crennel. Who is the Patriots OC then? Why are the pats coaches looked as so valuable for open positions? Crennel: Fired Weis: fat and soon to be fired Mangina: Fired I guess Ferentz, Saban, and Pat Hill make up for it, but jesus the recent ones have been terrible. -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) Basically, yeah. I mean, when's the last time you heard about a guy getting stoned and then beating his wife? He'd be too hungry...... I think some of the people who are very against pot would be surprised when they find out how many of their friends, co-workers, and whatnot use pot to relax instead of drinking a 6 pack.

So today I was able to pull without much effort almost every movie from my 2 PC's in my house. I also swapped out my 80 gb HD for a 320 in about 5 min.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:23 PM) Even last year in all their suckiness they were a very good defensive team. Weber teaches defense as well as any coach in the country. Maybe partially competition, but a lot is their coaching and solid team defense. They held Mizzou, a top 10 scoring team in the country, to 59 points. There is no doubt you guys are Illinois haters, but defensively they are one of the best in the country, and its hard to argue against that. Currently, they are 11th in the country, last year 19th, the year before 4th, the year before 11th. Always a top defensive team. actually I was asking because I havent watched them much this year. Stupid Haters.... -
QUOTE (lostfan @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) 1 - You only can say that because alcohol is legal, but its effect and the associated consequences are much stronger than anything marijuana does. Alcohol is dangerous, and deadly. Marijuana makes people lazy, silly, hungry, and/or stupid, and really is mild by comparison - plus, I'm no medical expert, but I'm fairly certain the health effects are nothing as bad as alcohol (and aren't as bad as cigarettes, either). People bypass the effects of alcohol because you can go around the corner from your house and get it, but it opens up the same gate as any other drug. How many interventions on TV have been focused on Weed? How many livers and lives has it destroyed comparatively? Its not even comparable to alcohol as far as dangers to humans.
