gateway drug and starter drug are only terms that were made up by people trying scare tactics to keep kids off of drugs. Tylenol is more dangerous to humans than Marijuana. Getting caught with a personal stash of pot isnt really that big of a deal, but still it would suck to have corps in charge of the crops and prices.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) Illinois is one of the top 10 defensive teams in the country, they won't get blown out. They keep this one close, but lose in the waning minutes. Is that due to their talent, or their competition? -

Someone sold your info. Companies will do that. You put your info somewhere and they sold it. Put your number on the Do Not call list and anyone who calls tell them you will report them.

Obsessed with (the lack of) Sox off-season moves?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 07:39 AM) Again, the Sox are not being left behind here. Other than the Yankees, NO ONE is making huge moves. This is the nature of the market this offseason - it will be late and cheap. January should be very interesting. The basic overview of the market is alot like what happend with the Cards. Teams have made offers, waited, waited, waited, their agents say they want to look at other offers because the initial offer was lower than what they wanted, the team pulls the offer. And here we are. -
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 09:41 PM) I'd rather our team gain publicity via winning and success, but I guess this doesn't hurt anything. How about also adding a link to the team photo with G.W.Bush? *edit* Snap, I forgot GWB is responsible for cancer and malaria. Might not want to associate our brand with him! I love it how all the kids (and I'm 22 myself) hold some personal vendetta against Bush. They act like he rang their doorbell, slapped them in the face, and ran away... 100% of the nation's problems cannot be attributed to Bush. He's a good man, and I would love to do a line with him one day. So says Swingandalongonetoleft who voted for Obama... Fixed for accuracy.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) I'm not so sure Mizzou actually played like crap. I think that's just how good/bad of a team they are. When you say a team plays like crap for about half of their games, I'd say that's just the way they play. Northwestern outplayed them. I wanted Northwestern to win, but I was nearly heartbroken that Jeff Wolfert could potentially have been the goat for Mizzou. That guy had been automatic throughout his career. Also, it's kinda funny how people sometimes make the argument that a playoff system would make bowl games irrelevant. This thread has shown that the interest in 2nd and 3rd tier bowl games is minimal anyway. That. No way Mizzou played like crap, they played like they always played and looked like a deer in the headlights when a defense lined up across from them. NW was winning the battle in the trenches all day and it showed. -

QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) I've used mint for awhile, the site is badass. It will also bring up credit cards that can offer you better benefits than the ones you're currently using. Mint will warn you through email if any suspicious transactions occur in any of your accounts I just used this feature today and more than halved my credit card interest rates and also took my savings acct from .01% to 3.01 percent.
-
Has anyone taken a look at mint.com for an overview of your cash, credit and investment portfolios? It also shows what you spend your money on per month and lets you set a personal budget. I've found that I generally use cards and accounts from the same bank because its easier to see all of my bills/money/etc on one page and mint.com brings all of those on one page together for me regardless of the bank or creditor. Its pretty cool stuff. Anyone else have success with this? I am a rookie and would like hints and tips if they are out there.

QUOTE (thedoctor @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 11:09 AM) in the long term it *may* not be bad. i was not impressed with what i'd seen out of crater for the hype that preceded him. granted, he's a true frosh running point and that's never a desireable situation, so you have to cut him some slack in that regard. at the same time, he just didn't do some fundamental things very well. if he had a poor attitude on top of it (which this would seem to suggest) maybe its better to cut losses early and give matta a shot at a 09 recruit. this puts this years team in a bad way, though, as it relates to point guard. i wonder if they take a look at offutt there. Offut is more of a combo guard, but I can see him eating Crater's min. Crater was really a transition PG and OSU and most of the Big Ten focus on half court sets in addition to running the break, and Crater just wants to run in space. I thought he needed some seasoning as well from the times I saw him play, but I still think he should have had more PT. Of course there are 2 McD's all americans on the bench next to him and he thinks HE is being wrongfully benched. Also, Wall is still undecided.... -

QUOTE (thedoctor @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 10:57 AM) noopy crater leaving ohio state and not nicely, either. charges of matta deceiving him over his role and such. this will leave ohio state really, really thin at point guard. they now have simmons (two-guard in a point guard's body) and p.j. hill (who wasn't good enough to beat out a disenchanted true freshman for playing time). bad two weeks for the buckeyes. Not good at all. He was a star recruit. He wants to start and play all game as a frosh. His "family advisor" said it was a business decision. Matta should have probably played him more since Simmons sucks, but I guess they wanted to limit his min at first. Not good for the program, but it does open up a slot for next year. -

QUOTE (rangercal @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 10:55 AM) I'm not excited at all. This has been the most boring offseason of all time. Maybe it's because it appears that we will cut $20 mil in payroll. What's so exciting about that? It should be moves in quotes. Offseason "moves" because activity has grinded to a halt. -
If sucks=just missing the playoffs and having 9 wins, then yes they suck.

After being a long time XBOX user I received the PS3 for xmas and was blown away. The PS3 is not just a video game console and a Blu-ray player, its a complete media center able to store multiple movies, games TV shows etc on one unit and play back at high definition on demand. The PS3 home is cool as well, but its clear that Sony sees the PS3 being an entertainment hub and the console has a ton of room to grow. For example, I already added a hard drive and have tons of movies stored on my PS3 without the hassle of having to care for DVD's and at a low cost. The games and Blu-ray have been amazing, but I think its the potential that really has me stunned.

Hilarious reading this thread. "He's good not great, the yanks are average at best." A Whole lotta jealousy and sour grapes in here. Tex is a hell of a player and a top 3 guy at his position. It was a good addition, and the money doesnt hurt them, so who cares how much he makes.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 08:12 AM) It looks like Orton still isn't throwing off of his back foot very hard. Maybe the injury is still hampering him somewhat. That doesn't explain why he was staring down receivers and throwing the ball directly to Woodson, though. Yeah, I dont think his foot is hurting his judgment on his throws. He isnt making good reads right now. -

Anyone catch OSU on B10N last night? Pretty fun to watch freshman and sophs who were highly touted finally put it together with confidence.
