  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 01:01 PM) Getting a man home from 2nd with 0 outs twice in 3 innings without an additional hit? Who are these guys and what did they do with the Sox? This is very nice to see. they seem to have a little bounce in their step these last couple of games.
  2. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 12:24 PM) Not to set the bar low, but I think Owens could do that by hitting above .260 and being solid on the basepaths. ... and not getting picked off a lot. You know if Jerry hit .260 his OBP would be higher than Derstad's QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Jun 2, 2007 -> 12:54 PM) Jose has nothing today He threw 2 good dp balls and uribe booted them both. Its not Jose's fault
  3. Zambrano beat his f***ing ass in the clubhouse. I wish there was some way of them both losing the fight, but there isnt.
  4. QUOTE(whitesox07champs @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 11:23 PM) With the recent stupid managerial decisions by Ozzie guillen I am left wondering if changing managers wouldnt be the worst move for the white sox at this moment! If we were to get a new manager who could it be? I know many people are going to be mad for this but Dusty is a name that comes to mind. He just left a cursed cubs team which couldnt win if they had the 1927 yankees roster. Dusty did a bad job with the cubs but I believe that bringing him with the white sox would give this team the lift it needs! seriously? come on.
  5. Owens brings something to the table that we didnt really have for awhile. Patience, athleticism, and walks at the top of the order.
  6. where is whitesoxfan1986? You and me rock dude
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:59 PM) Hopefully someone from the Sox front office is on their way over to s***tyville to give Z a ride over to the south side. Why the hell not? At least give Jimbo a call.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) They'll move Zambrano I think. They won't get what they would have got in the offseason, but they could still get something good for him. I'm sure Omar Minaya is on the phone right now. KW should be on the phone right now. We could then swing someone for a bat.
  9. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 03:47 PM) They just showed it again on WGN, and after the incident, it looks like they might have went at it again in the clubhouse. they totally did, Lee rushed back there, Rich Hill came out and got Lou. That team is a mess.
  10. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) Just heard it on WSCR. Sweeney and Anderson have gotten a shot, I'm thinking Ozzie and KW are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle with Owens. He has been on fire lately. Im excited to see him get a shot.
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 31, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) There are a few different ways to do them properly, but I've heard from numerous people that one way you should NOT do them is to pull the bar behind your neck. Although you see it a lot, it is an unatural body movement and you risk injury. Same for behind neck barbell shoulder press. Anyone have any insight to this? DO NOT pull it behind your neck. Slightly lean back, wide grip, bring bar to top of chest. Make sure elbows are pointed out to really blast your back.
  12. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) Owens Called Up. Erstad on 15 Day DL with Sprain awesome. That is the right move. And he should get every at bat this coming week to see what he has. Owens, 26, was batting .305 (58-190) with 10 doubles, two home runs, 16 RBI, 36 runs scored and 23 stolen bases (30 attempts) in 48 games with Charlotte. He is tied for the International League in runs scored and ranks second in stolen bases. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Owens batted .325 (39-120) in May, including a .387 (29-75) average over his last 18 games. He compiled 17 multihit efforts and seven games with two or more steals. Owens made his major-league debut with the White Sox in 2006, going 3-9 with four runs scored in 12 September games.
  13. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:24 PM) I'm pretty sure you and I are the only people on this board who are pretty high on Owens. I have liked the idea of him as the leadoff hitter for awhile. Hey, we will be the only ones with faith then. The AAA ballpark is a bandbox, but he is walking a bunch, and looks to be improving his hitting. I just think that with some teams, a young speedy athlete like Owens can ignite the team. Im hoping he may do the same for us.
  14. I guess im the only one excited at maybe seeing Owens get extended time leading off?
  15. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 31, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Mark Teixeira-no chance Dunn-no thanks Griffey-why not just keep dye? Rich Harden-hurt all the time Chris Burke-nope Willy Mo Pena-defensive liability k's more than anyone Baldelli-hurt and no chance Chad Cordero-hes lights out right now, no way. Melvin Mora (OF)-huh
  16. QUOTE(quickman @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:36 PM) Even if owens comes up I doubt Ozzie would put him leading off the guy has never hit major league pitching and he is still learning to steal bases. I speculate that maybe Iguchi will lead off, but what do I know. Nothign really except we have no minors worth a damn. Yeah, but he has really learned to walk this season. Our minors are pretty good dude, you've been ignoring them obviously this year. We have some good arms down there.
  17. IM sad Erstad went down, but happy to see Jerry get a shot at the bg leagues. He was playing very well down there and deserved a chance to be PODS (healthy) #2. Its pretty obvious its going to take something drastic to jump start this team into any sort of decent season, and maybe a young speedster with some energy is just the thing.
  18. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 30, 2007 -> 01:54 PM) I've always heard that isolation type exercises like the ones you're describing are mostly for shaping and definition, but won't give you much gains in size. Not true? Depends on the excercise. The raises can do that, but also increase the size of certain muscle groups that you havent been utilizing at all, which in turn makes the whole area increase. Its really alot of trial and error. For my shoulders and neck I have been just using the cables and lifting from my waist to my chin. Just using those muscles more has increase my shoulders and biceps somehow. Figure THAT out.
  19. garland is getting off the hook so easy with you cliff jumpers. The key part of the game to everyone is not bringing in our closer in a non save situation (which he does pretty terrible in for his career) and watching a pitcher walk in a run without a pitch close to the plate. Dont blame the players who had 20 walks in this series, dont blame the offense who couldnt muster a threat past the 3rd inning, or the starting pitcher who apparently was afraid of a 5 run lead. Blame the manager for making a basic decision that just happened to go wrong. And I thought White Sox fans were known for being knowledgable.
  20. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) Ozzie brought in DA instead of Jenks, he gets the glory and sure as hell gets the blame! So that was the reason we lost huh? I really thought it was the fact that we were up 6-1 in the 3rd inning and decided to walk and error our way to a loss. I coulda sworn thats what did us in. Of course I could be wrong.
  21. QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:25 PM) yea but ozzie could of brought in jenks and wouldnt have to worry about anything. jenks hasnt pitched in what, 8 days? ah he coulda. Nice philosophy. No other manager in baseball would have kept their closer on the bench in hopes we get a run the next inning with the heart of our order up. s*** who even knows if Bobby is healthy, oh wait, everyone on Soxtalk knows.
  22. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:24 PM) This team is in 4th place going NOWHERE fast, I am glad you are happy with Guillen overall performance because you are in the minority! Seriously, what part of this series did he lose for us? The offense couldnt produce when needed and the pitching walked over 20 guys. Thats why we lost. It wasnt bullpen moves, it wasnt subbing, it wasnt whatever else you think he is responsible for. The players lost this series, pure and simple.
  23. QUOTE(Soxfest @ May 30, 2007 -> 03:10 PM) Fire f***ing Guillen today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2006 is OVER people! This Regime away!!! Yeah, he couldnt hit the strike zone all series. Good call!
  24. These players are flat out letting the Manager, the GM and the fans down at this point. Offense dies, the pitching dies, we walk 10 people. WTF
