  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:21 PM) I live in Downers, and south of 63rd street, you may see a few. North of 63rd street and they are out like crazy. Yeah, I grew up off highland north of 35th.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 08:19 PM) In Elmhurst, Hinsdale and that area, they are out like crazy. Man. What a difference. I remember in DG 17 years ago just walking through the swarms of them. Living downtown, i literally havent seen a single one, not a signle body, not even one crushed on my car.
  3. is there actually Cicadas over there? Because I live in the city and I have yet to see a single one of them this whole summer.
  4. I cant wait to hear your reactions Flash.
  5. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 06:51 PM) Maybe Lance was nervous in the first with you there. The great and powerful Boz, I would be too. I think we send Alex to all of their games for PBP.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) Was it classic Pods. Strike 3 looking? dropping on the inside corner?

  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 06:04 PM) Will do, just about to get underway, so I'll get a nice look at Pods right off the bat. He's the White Castle "K-Man". mmm sliders do sound good.
  9. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) actaully I said he was an allstar caliber 3baseman who was a clutch hitter. TQ, He's not even close to that this year. In fact, offensively he is in the bottom 3rd, defensively, he is still up in the top five. As far as his clutch-ness, check out how many guys he has been leaving on base. He is flat out hurting the team right now, and its at least nice to have a guy who may actually bring some healthy at bats onto the field. I personally think Josh could put up the same numbers offensively as Crede right now. QUOTE(quickman @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) I just like to mention him because everyone here thought he was a god. they all identified with his tremendous ability and attitude. I just want to remind everyone that our number 1 prospect actually sucks, therefore not getting the hopes to high for our other soon to be failures. By the way why does it bother you so much. I thought our number 1 prospect was Danks, then Gior?
  10. Alex, nice report. Let us know how PODS looks and especially how BA looks swing-wise
  11. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) After today, probably the Cubs. huh?
  12. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) He's just insane, he really is. Anywho, not a big deal here with Durant, but I must say that it's pretty ridiculous that he can't bench 185. Durant is still awesome, but I find that hard to believe as well. There arent many lower tier college athletes that cant bench 185 at least once. In fact I bet most high school athletes could as well.
  13. We need an impact bat, preferable a middle infielder or a corner OF'er.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:16 PM) Tayshaun Prince couldn't bench 185 either. How'd that work out? He's a good role player.
  15. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 03:11 PM) Problem being, all of our offense call-up were raking when initally called up, only to go into horrible slumps as soon as they were placed in a lineup on this team. That being said, I am extremely jacked to see Fields get his shot. I wonder if he'll be in to play tonight? Well, hes the best hitter out of anyone we have called up this year, so im hoping for better results.
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) Josh...give them a reason to keep you. That is all. I concur. I liked him last year when he was up, and he has learned a bit more patience. He has also been raking. Come on Josh!!
  17. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 6, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) I wouldn't call Matthews "outstanding"...his OBP is only 12 points higher with only 9 stolen bases. Hes also batting cleanup right behind Vladdy.
  18. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) Its been nice getting to look at our prospect outfielders. Now we better get a chance to see what Fields has. I remember distinctly last season being impressed with his eye. I hope that translates to at least a couple of walks.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) Impressive display of range this inning. You can always count on that from the right side of our infield. Mark has s*** himself, its like a shooting gallery out there.
  20. Well. Bring Josh up, hope he develops defense like Crede did, and put him in the 9 hole for a little pop and speed.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) I'm afraid I can't return the sentiment. As far as I'm concerned, Joe basically asked for this to happen. He went with Scott Boras's advice on what the best way to deal with his back was (rehab) instead of listening to the advice of team doctors (do the surgery & get it actually fixed). back surgery is so risky though. anyone have any info on whether fields is playing for charlotte today?
  22. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Bring Fields up. ^^^^^ please please please someone tell me he is on his way.
