QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Jun 16, 2007 -> 09:00 PM) Floyd might finally be getting into a groove. no room for him at the inn -- unless we trade a starter. I think you've picked up on the first deal in the upcoming weeks.

how anyone could watch this team is beyond me.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 10:35 AM) Detroit would have made for a much better series, no doubt about it. yup, they would have put up a fight better than the Lebrons. -
QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 08:26 PM) ah yes, this was the one ive heard about. thanks You know its good when the menu says: "All sandwiches are topped with french fries cole slaw and tomatoes."

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 09:08 AM) No formal deal was ever proposed. Another thing on Gio; wasn't his value higher when we traded him the first time compared to when we traded for him? It's like selling your google stock for $40 a share, then one year later paying $55 for that same stock. It could be worth more in the future, but as soon as you made the buy back you took a loss. Gio has been damn sexy in AA, and yes his value dropped in Philly a bit.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) I'm only 2 years older than you so yeah he's before my time as well. I do remember seeing him play some in his mid to late 30's when he was still one of the better leadoff hitters in the game. In his prime he was unstoppable. He would jack one out, or get on base. Either way, you were f***ed.

Cavs were a joke to make it to the finals, and they proved it. -
QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 09:33 AM) SOme people don't like to watch the games and go by that. They need to base everything on stats - which is where a lot of arguments come from it seems. stats-wise, Danks is way better than BMAC.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 07:39 PM) Why do you make this statement? You do realize as bad as McCarthy supposedly was last year, Danks gives up more hits, more walks per inning and has just a slightly lower home run allowed rate than McCarthy did last year. I still don't understand how this site has McCarthy one of the worst pitchers to ever put on a uniform and Danks in the Hall of Fame at this point. Probaby because Danks is better than BMAC, but that could be the too obvious point. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 15, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) If McCarthy pitched for say Seattle, he would be a candidate for the all-star team this season. He's just in a terrible situation over there in Texas, who need to be finding groundball pitchers and not flyball pitchers such as B-Mac. so the almost 6 ERA and the 1.57 WHIP is because of the defense? I wonder if the defense has anything to do with his only 31k's to his 25 walks. hmmmm

you all are going to have bad relationship karma for posting this. Im just sayin.... QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) And a technical note is in order here. Dudes cannot do the Walk of Shame. When dudes do it, it's a Walk of Pride – albeit, sometimes punctuated by trips to the nearest shrubbery to puke. You can catch me downtown on sundays once in awhile. I prefer the bus ride of pride.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 03:05 PM) I think JD could go to any of the Padres, Dodgers, or DBacks. They all could use someone like him. The guy I want most from any of those teams though is Billingsley. Chris Young lovers would say otherwise.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) Well except Heroes wouldn't exsist if LOST hadn't paved the way for it. and how many of those great HBO shows would exist if Sopranos never aired?

Miscellaneous "White Sox" Trade Notes
RockRaines replied to Kalapse's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Is KW thinking about putting Adam Dunn in LF? That would make our offense pick up a bit, but defensively thats a mess. -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) LOST>Sopranos not even close. Heroes>Lost at this point

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 14, 2007 -> 12:10 AM) That bike looks pretty sweet Rock. I'm going to check it out at the bike store by my house tomorrow. I wont steer you wrong. I like how light it is, the gear spacing, pretty much everything. Its a good value and they have lasted me very well. I had thousands and thousands of miles on my 4300 when it got taken, and the thing felt next to new.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 11:29 PM) After the game, Ozzie said Jenks was the only righty left anyway. Using him in the 7th would just be silly down a run anyway. Much like alot of the year, he made good calls, the team failed.
-
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:19 PM) that sucks. there are a million bike thieves in Chicago, always gotta use a good U-Lock or somethin. Stolen from my garage. I had the bike for many years and it was my tool to begin my weight loss after college. I put thousands of miles on the road and trails on that bike. It was like losing a family member.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) Gotcha...so what type of price should I be looking at spending (I can get 50% back from my employer up to them giving me 500 bucks, meaning I could get a 1k bike and pay 500, however I don't think I want to spend that much on a bike). I should note I plan on doing a lot of my riding on the roads, while camping a couple times a year and at those points I'll do some terrain type of riding. Before my bike was so rudly stolen I used both road and mountain tires on my trek. I used to ride both trails and along the lake depending on where I was. I recently bought the Trek 4500 as a replacement for my 4300 disc. I love this bike because the components were good with the shimano crank and the RoxShox fork. I also always put clipless pedals, bar ends and water bottle holder etc as well. I only paid slightly above 500. http://www2.trekbikes.com/bikes/bike.php?b...022600&f=18

actually, i think all the moves he made that you are criticizing were the correct moves, especially taking Danks out.
-
I buy nothing but Trek Aluminums, all hardtails. I have had several from the 4300 and up and I love them.

f*** it. Close this thread for real. There is nothing positive coming out of this season at all. Bad fielding, baserunning miscues, cant bunt, cant pitch, cant walk, cant score runs. This team is finished. Ive never seen a more weak-willed bunch of players in my life. Oh the bad hitting is contagious huh, well then f***in snap out of it you self concious pieces of crap. Im done, this team is done and if someone doesnt get fired or traded by our next game, our GM is done too.

White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/13/07 (L)
RockRaines replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in 2007 Season in Review
close this game thread, its over. And so is the season. Swept by a NL team, cant beat anyone. Game over. -
QUOTE(Allsox @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 12:59 PM) AJ's walk-off HR against the Dodgers. That confirmed to me the Sox had some baseball magic up their sleeve that was awesome. I had never seen the crowd go that crazy.

lets try and keep it positive in the spirit of the thread please.

Philly probably thought they were pulling a fast one and wanted it to get done. They will learn from this next time. It turns out we may have gotten the best end of that deal making KW 2-0 on those trades.
