  1. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 11, 2006 -> 08:23 AM) Am I the only one who sees Buehrle as a Greg Maddux-type? You know, a solid pitcher who doesn't overpower, relies on control/his fielders more often than not, can pitch a ton of innings and will pitch until he's quite a few years old? I would say that, or Tom Glavine-ish.
  2. Buehrle wil be effective well into his middle to late 30's.
  3. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 09:19 PM) Thome and PK are great, but everyone knows Thome strikes out a lot and PK can go through some rough stretches, I mean rough. Pods hasn't been able to stay healthy and Uribe and Crede go through some bad slumps too. Shelton, Maggs and Irod can mash not to mention the decent bats of Inge, Monroe, and Guillen. They have a pretty solid core and with the way the white sox have been so far this year and last year struggling to score runs I would give the edge to them. Things can change though. Thome is going to have a higher OBP than anyone on Detroit, and Paulie will have more Hr's and probably RBI's. How many players do they have with consecutive 40-100 seasons?

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 12:39 PM) Blue Originals with milk >>> Chewies Matt's Chocolate Chip cookies trump any other brand
  5. BTW, credes swing on his HR is ridiculous. ANd they call it a changeup but it was 94 mph
  6. Video Highlights: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/gameday...t=.jsp&c_id=cws Detroit Broadcasters on Thome's HR: "Yikes"
  7. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) i love new busch. any time i get a chance to get into new busch, i take advantage of it. hahaha, i think im the only one to get that.
  8. MB should get nothing short of a 5 year deal when this one expires. He isnt a power pitcher, and really isnt that injury prone. These type of pitchers keep their prime longer than most.
  9. Kurt Suzuki rakes for me in the OOTPB league.
  10. QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 02:24 PM) The Sox were 11th in the AL (24th overall) in OBP (.322) last year. That's wretched. Good thing they had some power. That'll show you how important OBP was to this team.

    Bath towels

I hang them up after use, and wash when they get a little dirty. Wash in hot water as well people.
  12. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 02:12 PM) Why is that? Because I wanted to touch off a debate and get a good laugh at the same time? If that makes me an "asshat", then I guess that's what I am. Best thing you have posted on this site yet. Congrats.
  13. The guy who was selling the pictures got really pissed that I told him to f*** off and sell them on the streets.
  14. QUOTE(WCSox @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Winning two in a row and beating a Sox-killer (Bonderman) were huge. Great job! Its going to be hard for these tough Right handers to be soxkillers anymore. Thome absolutley mashes RHP.
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:42 PM) Haha, I love how we have that as a reference.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) It might have seemed that way but I believe August was one of the better months for the pitching staff era wise. It wasnt horrible. But even in the WS DVD they say that Mark sets the tone and the rest follow suit.
  17. Nobody I want going in next game over The Count.
  18. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) I would have like to see some more run production....but oh well 2 in a row...... So can Owens play left field? Owens isnt hitting any better than PODS, so forget about it.
  19. From the tigers board game thread today: "Rumor was that Garcia had some arm trouble..... Do you see it , cause I don't."
  20. still sucks that all of our runs were on long balls.
  21. Good outing by the pitching staff 0 ER for the pen, Freddy looking much improved.
  22. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 10, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) I think that's perfectly within the realm of reason, but he had to outpitch the other LOOGY's that came, and he did outpitch them against good lineups and bad ones. He busted his ass. Yes, but all but one of those LOOGY's are not in baseball at the moment I believe, and none of them made a major league roster at all. Not exactly elite competition. The guy is a decent lefty, probably better than the 2005 Marte, but hes still the last arm out of the pen.
