Guillen says Anderson is worthy of CF job
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 01:59 PM) Exactly, his bat just has to be decent and he doesn't have to be spectacular on D, just not hurt us. I think he will be better in the field after a short adjustment period.

Hypothetical question
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) The only way I see him not fufilling his promise is injuries. He's a much more talented pitcher than Wood. His mechanics also seem to be a lot better, he's got better control, and he doesn't have as many mental issues as Wood does. Remember, Wood was a very talented pitcher, talented enough to K 20 batters in a single game. Felix has alot of talent, but he hasnt proven it over a full season yet, is still WAY too young to call him a future hall of famer, and could flame out like Gooden no problem.

Busted for sure this time... ?
QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) Awwww (need to change my pants)...I really hope they have solid proof. Man, that would be great. I've been waiting for this for a long time. And to answer who the HR champion is, it is Aaron for a career and Maris for a season. Isnt it possible that Maris used some performance enhancing drugs? The guy was injury prone, died early of cancer, and never really approached that HR total again.

Hypothetical question
QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 01:04 PM) It looks like he might be the next Pedro Martinez, but he could also flame out like Dwight Gooden did, or develop arm problems like Kerry Wood. Yup. And the people on here slurping him will look just as foolish as every cubs fan who predicted sure greatness for Kerry Wood.

Busted for sure this time... ?
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Ruth. Hot dogs and Beer = performance hindering drugs, not performance enhancing. Back then many drugs were given out like candy at drugstores. You could grab some cocaine at some pharms.

Busted for sure this time... ?
Heres the real question. Who was the last homerun champion not on performance enhancing drugs?

Soxtalk On the Air
Jas says that Garcia is the third starter behind Conteras and Garland. I wonder what pitcher he is forgetting?

Oscar's Thread.
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) Simple. Aside from Foxx's performance, which he rightfully deserved, I didn't enjoy the movie. What, are you expecting a complex intepretation of the emotions evicted through Ray's troubling life? I have to disagree. I think alot of the story was well written and portrayed, and Jamie Foxx really brought the whole package together.

Hypothetical question
I love hearing about prospects who are already destined to be in Cooperstown, because it almost never happens.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) I gotta say, I would tune into the JimH and Quick show. It was awesome enterainment in Milwaukee, no reason it wouldn't work on the radio I'd listen. There is no reason I shouldnt be a guest on any of these shows.

Bobby Jenks' entrance music
Well, from the time I have spoken with Bobby, it seems to me he is into some rap music. I would suggest something of that genre. Of course one of my favorite UFC fighters, Rich Franklin, comes out to AC/DC For those about to Rock, and I think its a good entrance song.

Guillen says Anderson is worthy of CF job
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Mar 7, 2006 -> 08:42 AM) Im getting kind of an anxious feeling everytime I read about Brian Anderson hitting 2 homeruns off of Felix Hernandez. A rookie hit a couple homeruns off of another rookie, and Its the only thing anyone can ever think to say about his offense, didnt he have some great moments in the minors? Sure, Felix might be the next Santana, but he isnt right now. This better not turn out to be a Tuffy Rhodes moment in his career. But hes the best pitcher ever!!!!!!!!

Official Big Ten Tourney Thread
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 05:16 PM) They should have a fairly easy road to the title game. No disrespect to the Hoosiers or Badgers, I just don't think either can take OSU. It's much tougher in the other bracket. I think whoever comes out of it could be worn out. Especially when you consider the crazy scheduling. OSU should definitely be favored. Alot of people didnt pick them to win the big ten regular season title either. I did. Now I expect them to continue their winning ways in the tourney.

White Sox @ Colorado - 2PM CT - 3/6
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 05:05 PM) Those are high expectations. Even if magically Tucker's velocity returns to it's previous stature, there's still the problem of locating his pitches. If he can't control a 90 mph fastball, what difference will 96 mph be? More than likely, he'll be another Charlotte scrub if placed there. Im expecting at least better results than many other arms in the system. The guy was highly touted, there HAS to be a reason why.

Im thinking about workin on some pitches in the offseason. Maybe since I can throw lefty I could get a shot.

White Sox @ Colorado - 2PM CT - 3/6
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:48 PM) Good question. He was a closer for Charlotte, right? Maybe when he's not in pressure situations, he thinks he can get away with just throwing that 91 MPH straight fastball? Straightest fastball this side of the Mason-Dixon

White Sox @ Colorado - 2PM CT - 3/6
QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Mar 6, 2006 -> 04:42 PM) I want to see Javier Lopez and Arnie Munoz duke it out for the second lefty spot. And I want to see Rusty Tucker pitching at Charlotte to start the season. I think if he gets his velocity back and works on his location, he could be Jenks Part 2 from the left side. jabroni, I agree about Rusty starting in AAA. He has a live arm, and has the talent to succeed out of the pen. He still needs some experience throwing after the surgery.
