QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) I played maybe 6 games online a few months ago and found it to be boring as hell, the s*** that people pull is ridiculous. It completely takes away from the fun of the game, so people play like b****es so they can what? Have good online stats? What the hell is that? Now the real online gaming for the PS2 is SOCOM, II or III preferably II. It's not really even close. counter strike is still my fav

QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Timo Perez is just as good as Barry Bonds come playoff time! He's not here anymore to respond.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 01:28 PM) Rock, what kind of seats do you have? Do you do any kind of trading/selling? Absolutely I do. My tickets are on the first base line. I dont like them as much as I would some on the 3rd base line, but we couldnt move this year. As some people know I have sold/given away/traded tickets many times, and I look forward to it this year. Especially if Quick is not going to some of his games, I love the club level.

QUOTE(Spiff @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) I have been playing it the last few days (ps2) and it really pisses me off how s***ty people can be. Putting backup linemen at tight end so they can run toss left, toss right all day, running the hurry up offense the whole game, stupid s*** like that. It seems impossible to find people who will just play a normal, fair game. If anyone does wanna play a regular game lemme know. I also have nhl 2k6 if anyone wants to try that. I've found it's harder for people to be a s***head in that game. Be careful of anyone using the falcons where they pull that s*** with Vick.

QUOTE(MarkBuehrle_TheAce @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 01:00 PM) i have had my season tickets (actually my dads) since 2000, they are amazing, 3rd baseline right behind the home dugout I know where they are. I love that section/area. I was just wondering because to get thsoe you must have had them for a long time, or have a parent have them for a long time.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) I picture Rock sitting there, rocking his head, singing 'Take on Me' or 'Electric Avenue' We're going to rock on to, Electric Avenue, and then we'll take you higher. Take on me is currently my blackberry ringer FYI.

QUOTE(False Alarm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 12:25 PM) if it's such great fiction, why not publish it as a novel (ie, fiction) rather than a memoir (ie, nonfiction)? i don't imagine it has anything to do with the fact that memoirs sell at a much higher rate than fiction in this country. probably has nothing to do with the fact that every publisher to which he submitted "MLP" when it was a novel manuscript rejected it, either. I dont care if he published it as a dictionary. Its a good book so far, and the fact that its not all true doesnt effect my interest in the book. If you want to argue the morality of how he published the book, im not the guy.

QUOTE(heirdog @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 12:13 PM) I didn't know there was a caveat to the comment but he started 5 games (from Aug. 30th on) and he pitched twice in long relief after El Duque got shelled in the first 2 or 3 innings of two other games (once going 5 2/3 innings). Regardless of the small sample size, I would argue that we was our second best pitcher in the second half last season. Just like Jenks was our best closer in the second half with only 6 saves versus Hermanson who had 13. Its the quality of work as opposed to quantity...IMHO. I dont know about that. Garland started 15 games in the second half with a 3.65 ERA. Thats three times the work, three times the value. Brandon did pitch in 7 games, but only pitches 40 innings. Garland was more valuable than Brandon was in the 2nd half. For arguments sake lets go with pitchers who were in the rotation, because thats what I was saying. Jon was the most consistantly good pitcher for us all year.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) True...the unit you buy is important. The starmate 2 for sirius works great. Could be. My dad just got sirius in his car, I have yet to listen to his. Either way satellite radio is awesome. Being a rider of public trans in the city, listening to my ipod got old, and the xm makes the commute easier. I dont have to miss MIke and Mike, and riding home I get sports talk and 80s music. Its awesome.

This league is quickly becoming addicting. I would recommend anyone who really loves baseball and the workings of team management to get on our wating list.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:34 AM) It'll probably be college or church by the time he gets done "recalling". Since its fiction, you need to look at it as fiction. His first book places him in rehab with Leonard. That is where he meets him. I dont care what actually happened, its still a good book, and a great story.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) J-Man, you can go on each one's website, and find out about the programming...and even get a free trial to each. Like I said, you'll notice the music is very similar...pay more attention to the premium stuff. Costs are the same. I still think the quality of broadcast isbetter on XM, but im biased. Oh and Sirius has their first portable coming out soon, and XM has a new, and MUCH smaller unit coming out this spring/summer.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:29 AM) Bode seems to be speaking his mind a lot lately. He has alot of liquid courage flowing through his vains.

Meh, if I was the indians, Austin Kearns sure as s*** wouldnt do it for me. The guy is not that great. I would only hope that he would keep hitting better away from Great American. But the guy really has gone down hill since his rookie year, and his strike outs seem to climb each year.

People's Energy for their overbilling and outrageous gas prices. Quick Story-I get my gas bill for this month and its 600 bucks. I live in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo in the loop, and i live by myself. I have about half the vents for my heat closed, in my office and in the spare bathroom. I keep my therm at 64 degrees when Im home, 55 when gone. (I like being cold). I call people's energy, they jerk me around, I file a better business report. They call me back and adjust my bill to 140 bucks for the month, telling me they mis-estimated my usage. WTF is wrong with you people!!!!

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) I think those XM numbers are being bloated by the free car installs. I also think Sirius was able to get the first big drawer, in Stern. And I don't think his full affect has been felt yet. I think more fans of his are still coming. And we all know I'm a Stern blow-hard, but out of the 2 companies, he is the biggest name. I dont listen to him, so I feel no effect of him being on that provider. I would rather listen to Mike and Mike in the morning on my XM radio. But I really love XM for the baseball, when im at my other house in Michigan in the summers, I love sitting by or on the lake and hearing hometown broadcasts of the sox on the radio. Nothing beats that IMO.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) Currently reading The Dharma Bums Up next is "Doors of Perception", "Brave New World", Shame of the Nation", "On the Road" and "Amusing Ourselves to Death" Doors of perception is a great read. I read it because Jim Morrison in the movie "The Doors" says that he based the name of his band on this book. Then I got into the intervewis of the Doors , blah blah blah.

QUOTE(False Alarm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 10:32 AM) my bad. frey's a straight shooter. Its in his story. It the second novel is based off of the first novel, thats where he met him. If its fiction, its still the case. Maybe you should write him a hate letter.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:05 AM) For the sake of Soxtalk, the White Sox organization, and Jon Garland himself, please never call Jon Garland "J-Unit" again.

QUOTE(False Alarm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) "my friend leonard." it's about a friend he made in jail. he was in jail for, like, half an hour. oh, and he met Leonard in rehab not jail.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:33 AM) Does it bother you that what he presents as the truth, are actually lies? That most of that didn't happen? Nope, its still a good story and a good read. I dont know any of those people nor do I care. I just care about whether or not I find the book interesting, and whether I can relate with the characters and story line.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) Personally, I think he should shut his trap, unless he was there when Bonds and Armstrong used roids. This quote is pretty ironic and hypocritical on his part: He certainly puts himself out there to be "framed". Ah shut it, hes sweet. I dont know about armstrong, but everyone knows Bonds is a damn cheater. Miller is drunk, and I like it.
