Wow Kershaw actually gives up runs.

Hoping to at least have some nuggets to share this month.

The Tigers are a supremely talented team. But look what a bad/cold pen can do to a team. It's so underrated.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) Starting to become depressed. What I'm gathering is that all of our young talent are only a good hitter if platooned for their respective handedness and are not capable of playing defense. Sounds like we are close. Lots of things to be excited about. Already hear there is movement in the front office which is good. I believe they have a plan.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 10:20 AM) I bought our engagement ring while I was working in a retail s***hole making $8.25 an hour. The ring cost $650. But the style of ring was perfect. Our wedding bands cost something like $300 total, because we went with plain gold bands, but also comfort fit. Guess what, they still work just fine 14 years later. My wedding band was off of Amazon for under 30 bucks. Her engagement ring on the other hand.....yikes

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 10:19 AM) Arizona is improving (although they haven't played anybody and have had a lot of games go down to the wire). Ole Rich Rod doing good things there and it looks like they have a QB that is going to be pretty good. They looked like the faster team, which you never say when you watch someone play Oregon. Oregon's oline was awful but Mariotta as a #1 pick, he better go to a team with an excellent QB coach because he is an extremely streaky passer and it was evident. Despite the pressure, he missed a lot of guys down the field. You can see that he has a lot of great tools but in the NFL the margin of error and need for accuracy goes up significantly. Also, in Oregon's system, there isn't a lot of reading you have to do as a lot of it is all about getting guys in space and hitting guys when they are in space, and ultimately it doesn't work quite that way in the NFL. Oregon is missing their top 4 tackles on OL. That hurts any team. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 09:05 AM) Well yeah, but who the hell is gonna trade for him? Given the cap situation and age of other players, you would like to get a valuable piece for the future in any trade. True, but he is a liability right now. I really like JVR as the defender they keep. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 09:09 AM) I would be hardpressed to believe that losing an away game to Oregon, who will very likely still be a top ten team is going to hurt Michigan State very much. Especially considering Oregon does this every year. College football is so weird this year. Reminds me of 07. Not sure if chaos is better for the playoff or worse as the gap between 1-4 and 5-8 is going to be pretty small. Its good for us because it already helps the case of expanding the playoff to 8 teams. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 12:21 PM) He's an RFA after this year and he's still lost in his own zone. He's a replaceable 3rd pairing guy. You saw how little Q trusted him last year in the playoffs. And Keith's the best PP QB. And I disagree that Q likes Versteeg, but he's likely harder to move. Rozy needs to go first. He's completely done. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 07:20 AM) It doesn't matter how good your QB is if your offensive line is garbage. Sucks for Michigan State, their "marquee" non-conference loss is suddenly not looking as tough. Kinda. And the week keeps getting worse for michigan -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 01:59 PM) Rock lost his scholarship: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...ses-scholarship Psh, I have 50 lbs on that kid. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 08:58 AM) But the 2013 roster didn't have Eaton or Abreu. Adding those 2 would have made a difference. Obviously 2011 Paulie was a lot better than he was this year, and that is not on Steverson, but overall, Viciedo hasn't seemed to be much better. Beckham didn't get better, Ramirez really about the same, after a couple of seasons of declining power. De Aza, not an improvement. Flowers, perhaps an improvement but luck does seem to be a bit better this year. I don't think if you asked Feeky if he thought Flowers could hit .240 next year he would say yes. Gillaspie was better this year, although less power and pretty awful the second half. The offense changes when the hitters change. Blaming a hitter's failure on the hitting coach is ridiculous, especially if you don't know their exact relationship. You and Merkin are about the only people who seem to think Walker was unfairly criticized.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 05:15 PM) I'm not saying the action on its own gets him fired (although it is clearly a major negative, imo), but when you combine his performance on the field with these type of actions and if I am Michigan, I am firing him. His disciplinary actions with players who have gotten in trouble adds to the fire and the losing record definitely have amped up the fans. I still am not 100% certain that Morris going back in the game was his fault. The fact the guy doesnt communicate with coaches in the booth and all over his sideline during the game is baffling. -
QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 03:41 PM) It's tough to even think about our dog dying. We adopted her last year when she was 2, she is 3 now so we hope we still have at least 10 years more years with her I had one I had to put down at 8 years old because of dementia and one that is now 11 and going strong. It's such a crapshoot, however you are NEVER ready to say goodbye.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 01:55 PM) All of this stuff is really tempering my enthusiasm for getting a pet. I'm getting emotional just reading about your pets I don't know if I can handle seeing one of my own go after losing my childhood pets Pets die, its part of knowing you will be getting one. They will break your heart a few times and will have one final blow that will be devastating, but having them in the meantime love you unconditionally is usually worth it.

QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 02:55 PM) Seems like they should have elaborated on that. Apparently Windows 8.1 = 9. They literally said they wanted to separate themselves from the single digit revisions because 10 is "so new"

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 02:53 PM) I honestly don't care for these stupid message board games of bringing up every other example of other cases and grading the outrage, but at least in that case: MSU was better at lying He was taken off the field after that play and was administered a concussion test They are incompetent and/or lied about that test and put him back in Michigan: -Did not take him off the field - Took him off the field and then examined his ankle - Sent him back out onto the field - Have confirmed he had a concussion Michigan doesn't have the cover of their staff performing their job correctly and possibly lying, they have their staff having perfomed incorrectly and confirming that the kid was put out with a concussion. It's not the same. Gary Pinkel also put out a player in 2004 bowl game and he finished the game. Nobody cared then. We know more now, people need to be held accountable for players health. There can't always just be "systemic breakdown...nobodies fault". Mostly Hoke is losing and people already want him gone. The answers from their press conference are pretty much the same as MSU's was. Gholston was only taken out because its policy for players to come off the field if they have to stop the game for an injury. http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/m-footbl.../100212aab.html The confirmation of a concussion right now is actually debatable as well. Just saying the outrage for the firing of both the coach and the AD are directly related to their success on the field. It was clearly handled poorly at the same and since then, but it's pretty clear why the torches are burning so bright. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 02:19 PM) I disagree. He wouldn't get fired, but this is just another example of incompetence. People in the stadium and the announcers were pretty upset. I think it was also less the him playing another snap then also throwing him out there after Gardner. Dantonio put Gholston back in the game after being knocked out cold with a head injury and nobody was clamoring for the AD and coach to be fired, because they were winning. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 30, 2014 -> 12:20 PM) To be honest, I think the way he has handled this whole thing is deplorable and he should get fired midseason. If he was 5-0 I dont think this would even have a sliver of outrage. -
