  1. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) Suicide has been a thought, but nothing more than a silly thought...The stupid things I spoke of are going to to this guys house and beatin some ass (I obviously know where he lives because I dropped her off there everyday) or "stalking" her and making her life hell until she gave me a restraining order or I got thrown in jail. Posting here on soxtalk takes my mind off stupid thoughts like that. It sounds like I'm overblowing this and I probably am, but she ruined a lot of what was good in my life. I was a pretty popular guy and then I met her and we chilled everyday and I ditched all my friends. Pretty much right now the only friends I can go back to are my stoner friends and with me needing a job I've been layin off the trees. Thats the worst part of the whole thing...I'm over her for the most part its the loss of so many friends that f***in blows....I feel like a nobody now.... But ya actually since I posted that first comment about giving up I decided to hit up a few girls who've showed interest in me in the past and we're staying in touch now...nothins gonna happen till i get a job though. Which is why a girl should never dictate who you are and what you can do. Ditching your friends for a girl is poison and will only end badly. That is total co-dependance.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 15, 2012 -> 03:04 AM) LOL. This reminds me of a Three Stooges episode, The Woman Haters Club. Single life is great, but you can still keep an open mind. If in the process of meeting women in bars or other venues, you come across one who is special, you keep an open mind about maybe marrying her. I'd say best case scenario is get a good job, date around, don't settle and when you find a really special girl get her to marry you. Preferably around the age of 28-29. Get married between 26 and 28. My advice is dont have a target or timeline and dont let someone else tell you what to do. You will know when its right.
  3. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Oct 13, 2012 -> 08:26 AM) Ahhhhh some of you guys need to sack up. The single life is the free life. You can do what you want, when you want, how you want. You can spend your own self-made money wherever you want. Get married, that goes straight down the s***ter! If you're still moping after 2-3 years, you probably should talk to someone. No broad is worth that crap. That type of stuff doesn't go in the s***ter if you pick the right girl. But you are right about the moping. There are so many girls out there, getting stuck on one and letting your breakup ruin your life is a waste of time. You'll find someone else in due time, just live your life, concentrate on what you want to do and it will happen.
  4. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) Okay so im in the market for a new router and im really too lazy to read a million different reviews and study the history of the varangians in Russia at the same time. I know theres guys in this thread that are a walking cnet.com so can anyone tell me with a budget of $200, what is the best router I can get? The interwebs at home is mostly used for gaming on xbox, streaming, acquiring movies, etc. I have a 20mb line from comcast. AirPort Extreme hands down. I've had netgear, links us etc and its hands down the best performer I've ever had.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 02:23 PM) No better way to kill a rally then a strike 'em out, throw 'em out at 3rd base. Hey 2 men on no outs, strike out pitcher on mound, yeah lets double steal down 4 runs. DUSTYYYYYYY Baker.
  6. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) My leg still says "f*** YOU" whenever I do it. It will for awhile, in fact I did a ridiculous leg circuit yesterday and rolled for about 5 min total and it killed. Feels much better the day after though. I did well over 130 burpees in my 10 min circuit stage yesterday, my knees were screaming last night but loosening up the IT band and my hammies really helps recovery.
  7. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 01:37 PM) It wouldn't be a Dusty Baker managed team without an aging veteran starting over a more deserving youngster. So much for the home field advantage argument. Yup. Dusty Baker has a pretty terrible playoff record as well. Never seemingly picks the right pitching matchup.
  8. QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Oct 9, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) You think so? One of my concerns is that no one seems to know what the real career path is for a scrum master. How do you think they could move into the business layer? It depends, they have more exposure to actual business sponsors generally and if you can self promote you can move into other areas. In some orgs though they are glorified meeting organizers.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 10:36 PM) So you are going to start cheering for the Miami Bulls? Sorry man, I cheer for the Bulls, even in nba hell. I'm following the name on the front QFT
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) I hate Rock. Foam roller and the burpees are a biiiiiiitch. Damn you Rock and your good advice. LOL. You'll thank me later, especially on the foam rolling.
  11. Looks like I may be going down to Bloomington aka Columbus West
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 9, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) I think there was way more talent on the board last year, although some players could step up once this season progresses. Thats the way it looks every year though. I am just waiting on that year where its completely stacked and everyone says THIS is the year that all teams are good.
  13. Ventura sucked because a team picked to lose 90 games collapsed down the stretch. The players failed Ozzie when the team collapsed down the stretch every year. Got it.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 9, 2012 -> 01:21 PM) Hey look, an Illini player!!! Maybe we aren't completely irrelevant. Pretty weak top-10 talent wise. And its a down year blah blah blah. I'm still waiting for that Up year with loaded talent.
  15. They were raised in sterile conditions so most likely they will find he had a rare allergy to something in one of the species.
  16. I like the headphone jack on the top, alot.
  17. Agile development is AWESOME and in my opinion is THE way for cutting edge software companies to develop. For your questions: Depends is you want to be the go-between or on the actual dev team. The Scrum guy can have a better career path moving away from Dev into the business layer, but the Agile PM will be able to move up within Dev and also within other companies since that position is highly needed. Depends what you want to do.
  18. Oh and the whole NFc thing is dumb. My co-worker has that phone and the "bump" to exchange data is more like a place yours against mine, wait, hit the button, wait, wait, wait, ok its finally done awkwardly walk away.
  19. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 9, 2012 -> 09:15 AM) It puzzles me that Google purchased Motorola Mobility, but does nothing with them. It's become obvious that was just a patent buy at this point. Motorola still releases what I consider the worst in breed Android models, which makes no sense to me, since Google owns them, it would be the obvious play for Google's flagship Nexus phones to be Motorola branded, maybe with some Google oversight to keep the often overzealous Motorola designers in check. I still have to rate the Samsung GS3 the top tier Android phone, with the HTC OneX or OneX+ coming in a very close second, followed then by the often underpowered Nexus models (underpowered in comparison to the Galaxy's, etc.) I find the Motorola branded phones to feel cheap...but to be sure, I've only messed with them for a short period at phone stores display models. That said, I found their build quality far behind that of the S3 or OneX. I can tell you with full confidence that the motorola/google team is working on an entirely new phone "line" not due out for awhile. Like spring/summer 2013
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 9, 2012 -> 06:21 AM) So she pleaded guilty, admitted everything, and left the courtroom with the kid, who is now 18. She's really not that pretty, although if I was 17 and she came onto me, I probably would have done the same thing. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/08/s...ref=mostpopular Great body, horrible orange face.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 6, 2012 -> 11:31 AM) Oh boy...I'm already a bit concerned about the technology they have for keyless startup now...I have the Audi Advanced Key function...it allows you to open the car and start the car as long as you have the key within a certain distance of the car, basically, on your person. Anyways, a few times when I had the car already running, and then needed to run back in the house and use my housekey to get in, and therefore took the keys with me, I am concerned that someone could actually drive away with the car even without the keys? I've actually gotten back in the car while it is running still, and the dash shows a key with a question mark, as if it doesn't recognize the key is back inside the car, and yet it still allows me to operate the vehicle and drive away... If I told people that the government would require you to carry around a device that not only tracks were you are at all time but also stores all of your personal information and personal preferences about things from music to recipes I think people would think it was a Police state. IN fact its your smart phone. This device very soon will broadcast alot of that data and things like your car will be able to pick up on it and will unlock your car, set all your features and even pick stations it thinks you like. It will also possibly be able to know the temp outside and in your pocket and adjust the climate control. Oh it will also read and present all of your messages and will be able to pull your information to buy things over your car display or audio like flowers, take out etc.
  22. Finally I found something about Apple maps that sucks for me, the traffic function sucks ballsack.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 6, 2012 -> 12:26 PM) Now change it to frog burpees and you'll be able to have even more beers Do you know what atomic burpees are? It kicks it up a few notches as well.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 7, 2012 -> 09:48 AM) LOL. Stealing a laptop is on the same level as paying players and their families? Hey good for you then. Have you read what I posted already? No, I wouldn't rationalize anything they get caught for, but thanks for telling me what I would or would not do. The schools you mentioned, that's a lot of the stuff I was talking about, so I don't really get your point. No it's not, one is actually illegal. I've read what you posted, good for your foresight. However if Illinois ever won a national title and a player was determined to have taken money or "benefits" I suspect it won't taint the title for ou at all. Just my opinion, I'm not telling you what to do at all.
  25. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 6, 2012 -> 11:19 PM) Yup, zero reason to leave unless you're running from the NCAA (see Pete Carroll). I guess nobody understood that's my point. Cal has been running from the NCAA his whole career.
