QUOTE (Tex @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:46 AM) Wrong Bad google search by you. Coffee at starbucks is brewed at 212 degress and served at around 180. My coffee today from La Colombe was served at 190, I know because i checked it with an instant read thermometer. You can even google the legal cases again starbucks, some of which were burned by 200 degree coffee.

Larry Bird said that professional athletes (at least in the NBA) tune out their coach after 3 years. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 11:34 AM) Hahaha, are you kidding? My brothers wife, her family owns two small houses on Little Crooked (I think it's the little one anyway, but it's one of the crooked lakes), I go up there a few times a year. Well, I think it was two, they tore one down and are remodeling the other one now, but it's on two lots. I'm on big Crooked, right across the little bridge. I can ride my sea-doo over to little under the roadway. Thats hilarious. The lakes up there are almost all southsiders.

A-Gon's swing is so effortless, its hard not to love him. Cano is a beast, I couldnt believe how much power he actually has.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 11:01 AM) Yea, at my family's cottage in SW Michigan only Verizon had good 3g coverage, everybody else was too "spotty." It was great not having any tv, cellphone, computers to worry about and just focus on family and relaxing at the beach. BTW, where is your house? Sister Lakes, just outside of Dowagiac. They are putting up a Verizon Tower in 2 years which will change the coverage, but for now, I love the black hole of cell service.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 10:39 AM) It will regress after people get used to it being around, like anything else. So at my house in michigan (SW) we have basically zero cell service outside of some EDGE ATT connectivity. Its alarmingly relaxing when you are "off the grid."

Most thankless job in the world being my condo board president. I had to spend 2 hours up on my roof today with prospective builders to scope out the repair or replacement of our entire roof deck. I cant WAIT to meet with all the owners to give them the bad news.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 12:46 AM) Moved out of my college apartment yesterday. Lived there for 3 years. Also had to say goodbye to my best friend who is moving to Georgia. Horrible, horrible day. I remember being excited to graduate and then having a terrible terrible sadness creep over me as we packed. It was unbelievably depressing. I stayed another 4 months to do some grad work at school and it was pretty sad just knowing it was over. However, the fun doesnt stop, its actually just beginning. Working sucks, but the money doesnt. PLus you have much more freedom as you get a job, a new place and move on. The mid 20s are pretty awesome.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 08:48 PM) Curb was hilarious. Teaching her how to use a tampon, epic. I almost cried during last week's episode of Friday Night Lights. Sucks there is only one left for the series. What a great show. The last episode is excellent, you'll really like it.

I wonder if the whole social media thing will die down a bit after people become sick from the information overload.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) It's not really worth the risk just to "love" college basketball. I mean, it is their career. You wouldn't stay at your old job paying you $20K a year if another company offered you $500K to do similar work in the same field. Will he love college enough to stay all 4 years? It's still leaving early, same principle, if he leaves after 2. So you are of the mindset that any college player who can play in the pros should leave as soon as possible? I'm not. I like when they stay and get a little more seasoning. -
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) I hate Chris Berman. He has like 3 "lines" he says all the time. Other than that he is worthless. Cano is a BEAST

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 07:43 PM) I'm not penciling him in til I see he's actually healthy again. He would be so damn good if he hadn't gotten injured (he was leading the entire nation in freshman scoring when he got injured two years ago). Then last year he obviously wasn't 100%, and then he injured the OTHER knee. How many years of eligibility does he have left? -

I liked it too. I really liked the banter with Reilly and Helms.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) Wasn't the McDonald's case also partially about the fact that they deliberately kept their coffee 10-30 degrees hotter than what was considered "safe" in order to extend the product life cycle and save money...? That at higher temperatures, they'd have to brew fewer fresh cups of coffee...throw out less "cold/stale" coffee and wring more profit out of that particular product? Ironically every other coffee place serves it in the same temperature range.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 05:08 PM) I know he said he'd stay...but he said he'd stay when everyone has known for what, 5 years, that he'd be locked out of the NBA this year if he turned pro? And? Does that diminish his attitude? First when he said he was staying everyone was saying he's lying, now you cant accept his words for the truth. Maybe the kid just meant what he said, that he wanted to be a college kid longer. Thats what I wish more college athletes would want instead of the dollar bills. -
