  1. Say, isn't it limp bisquit time...bmr and Clu are a-waiting?
  2. Oooooh, how Batman-y of you...you had me fooled there for a second, BJ. Try "idiotic"..."cowardly"..."looserish"..."pointless"....and literally 100s of other less-than-pleasant epithets.
  3. Who cares about BJ.... Tell me, tho, just how hot is Steff?
  4. Neither do I.....Don't let this s*** ruin your day (or night), though. The weirdest part is that despite all this unbelievable, unexpected awfulness, this this team is still going to win the division. If 2001 one could win 83 games, I think this one can somehow manage the requisite 90 in pathetic division....Too bad most die hard fans like us should drop of heart attacks by All-Star break to witness the pennant, lol Wasting more than 30 minutes a day on this team is a mistake as it is. I think I am not going to check box scores or tape any more games until we are at least at .500 and Joe Crede's OPS at 700, whichever comes first. Watching games live is out of the question until we are in first place. There are simply better things to do even during weekdays. YMMV. Cheers.
  5. Wow, what happened today? 4 errors? Burle's loss? WTF?! I see Koney, Hurtey and Da Joe-Joes were their usual terrible selves. Did anyone here actually watch Sox games live lately? What am I missing?
  6. Baby jerk, that's exactly what being a bull-headed dumbarse is all about...Whether it's Internet or "real life" matters very little to the validity (or lack thereof) of something.
  7. Ok, I tried to be nice, but if you insist on being a stubborn dummy about it... His career OPS is app. 810. Right now he is at 777. The only reason why his RBIs are slightly higher than usual is because in 1999-2001, he was primarily a 7th place hitter; he's simply had more chances than ever to drive in runs this season out of 5th spot....As far as HRs go, they are the most meaningless stat in baseball. Like I said, considering he is no longer a 23yo, league-minimum making rookie, anything below 900 OPS and 110 RBI is unacceptable given that he is a lousy LF'er and can't run for s***. Keeping things in perspective much?
  8. Not when he is coming of the 3 month-peformance (2nd half 2002) of near 1000 OPS. Not when he was annointed the Next Manny Ramirez. Not when he is looking for 7-8 Mill. in 2004 and beyond Let's just say HSC is to Carlos what Steff is to Jimenez Of course neither of them can hate a player more than I can...See "Corey Petterson is Satan's Plague" for more details. 40 homer, 120 RBI, 80-walk would be a start. As far as GS goes, I am happy for Carlos. But the thing is, if you weight his RBIs against the RBI chances he had this season...lets' just say the raio doesn't come out favorably for Carlos. He shuold have 50 RBIs now considering how many RISP he's had, especially with less than 2 outs... Just because he is not as unbelievably bad as Koneko, Crede, Alomar, Valentin, Harris or Rios, doesn't mean he is good.
  9. Royce Ring...Goddamn! What's the deal with another KW gem, Pacheco? Someone said he reached 97-98, I find that hard to believe...Anyone with in-depth info on him?
  10. Pre-1995: Clemens hands down. 1995-2002: Unit way, WAY hands down. Pedro is his only peer. Overall, in my time (adjusting for late 90's offensive boom that noticeably inflated pitchers ERA) Randy Johnson is simply a better pitcher, though it's hard to discount Clemens's 1997 peformance. Unit is also a superior strikeout pitcher.
  11. My penis is too small. Or something.
  12. Thankfully I never got to take SAT/ACT because I barely spoke English 4 years ago and would have failed miserably anyway since I am, for all intents and purposes, not a particularly intelligent person. Then again, as they say, the dumber the thespian the better
  13. That's because you aren't a whiny, self-involved dork/playa wannabe like the rest of the Maxim/AskMen contingent.
  14. Run, run, run, run, run! Always running from the truth! This team sucks. Just face reality and it wont hurt as much when theyre still here two months from now. Two months from now, it aint gonna bother me that were still under .500 because Im expecting such. Two months from now, everybody whos running from the truth thinking were still in the race is gonna jump of a building or something. We lost two straight to the Tigers. Who in their right mind thinks this team has any chance? In 2001, we were 20-30 after May. The offense had struggled (scoring only 215 runs, or approximately 4.3 a game) and the pitching had struggled as well(allowing 264 runs, or approximately 5.28 a game). We then turned it around and played .560 ball the rest of the year, going 63-49. Do the first two months of this year appear to look very much like the first two months of 2001? If I had to give you an answer....I'd probably say yes. I'd actually prefer to see what is going to happen in the next 4 months then to say that we'll suck because we're playing like s*** now. This team, right now, looks like s*** and they are playing like s***. If someone disagreed....they should be slapped. Then again....what happens today isn't necessarily going to happen tomorrow, let alone a month or two from now. You think this team will just go into the Cubs series with no heart whatsoever? Highly f***ing doubtful. That team had talent. Sure buddy, when one thinks of "talent"...Clayton, Mark Johnson, Rowand, Baldwin, Parque, Howry, Julio Ramirez, Ginter, Harold Baines, Singeleton, Sean Lowe, Embree...is what immediately springs to mind. Got any more of that cutting-edge analysis? Oh yeah, just forget to leave out Maggs, Lee, Thomas, Konerko, Sirotka, Foulke, Eldred and just mention the crappy players. Also, Baldwin and Singleton werent bad players at all... Listen, baby jerk, I am gonna say this once: --Siro was done in 2001 (kinda rhymes, no?) --Thomas did diddle squat before going down --Valentin was on DL had recurring hamsting prob and could barely walk for half a season. --Baldwin was no All-Star in 2001. --Singleton had like 45 RBI and 315 OBP...and got CS as many times as he SB (horrible %) --Wunsht/Barcelo/Rauch were terrible and went down very fast. --Howry and Embree were terrible. --Clayton was worse. --Kip Wells was simply awful in the second half, very mediocre overall. --Glover was bad, way worse than he is now. --Osuna/Wright/Ginter/Eldred/Parque/Biddle were ALL unbelievably bad. --Magglio had a pretty mediocre year for an all-star...he was no Delgado --I trust Mark Johnson/Josh Paul are known commodities...wink-wink --Dvid Wells had a medicore season and went down as well. --Harold f***in' Baines...not pretty (Lee/Konerko/Buerhle are constants so they don't count, brother) --Foulke was the only thing that was significanly better then. Durham and DJ are a wash and so are Crede/Perry when you consider defense, range and arm especially. How can you say that team was obviously more talented is beyond me, especially considering 2001 had a tougher division and more health problems. Check that, considering that between you and bmr there is pussy hair worth of baseball knowledge, I am not surprised one bit. I honestly think you don't know (or don't care) the difference between "severe underachiving" and "lack of talent"
  15. Just because you don't see doesn't mean it's not there. You're right, by extension, it's those truly terrible ones who end up becoming HOF'ers.

  17. There is the Baby Jerk we all know and love!
  18. Pray tell what does it have to do with Wunsht being one of the best dollars-per-out relievers in all of baseball since September 2002?
  19. Substitute "very well" with "top 3 relievers in baseball" and you've got the gist.
  20. Jim , that's one of the few posts of yours that I have to vehemently disagree with...unless you equate "talent" with "results". In that case, Konerko, Magglio, White, Daubach, Rios and Crede and Koch are right where they should, who cares about career averages... I still think that this is the most underachiving team in the last 5 years. At least Mets have injuries excuse. To you honestly think Sox have less talent than Florida, Montreal, Baltimore, Toronto, Kansas City, Minnesota, Texas, Cubs, Pirates, Marlins, Rockies, DiBacks, Mets, etc?
  21. Yeah, it's precisely this inability of his that led to this line (coming into this game, including Arizona air ST): ---25 inn...27 Ks ---zero earned runs... ---7 hits--all singles--allowed...avg-a of .030 You're right, that's just horrid.
  22. What else did you expect? Men b****ing and moaning about relationships is the new black.

  24. Yeah, 10 minutes is such a long ass time in bmr's ADD-fied world. Bwa.
