  1. They did review it. The out was confirmed.
  2. The team was 29-23 in one run and extra innings last year. They were pretty good in this situation.
  3. We were informed of it a few weeks ago. Made an account but have no experience with it.
  4. The first time Grifol calls for a pitcher to throw over to first a 3rd time to get a balk on purpose to show he is serious about controlling the running game, internet servers explode in the Chicago area (or where ever the servers are) from Sox talk game thread participants.
  5. That's tough. A lot of pressure for a freshman. Just need to learn from the experiences.
  6. My season tickets did not go up much and parking is still at a discount with season tickets. Attendance is the only unknown variable when it comes to the team revenue. Everything else is set prior to the season. Depending on how much of the budget Hahn spends during the season, they can only add salary if there is a higher than expected attendance thus a higher than expected budget. You can argue the reason for the increase or decrease in attendance but the budget is the budget. It will awalus come down to winning with Sox fans. If the team is winning, they will show up. If the team is losing they won't show up and will find anything to complain about.
  7. April is going to be a tough month. Within 5 games of 500 and it will be a good start.
  8. That is a healthy outlook to have. Enjoy the game.
  9. They had a losing record against KC last year, they never can beat KC. Not saying them as often is a plus for the Sox.
  10. Trying but even they have utility players and others that are in the "not as talented" category.
  11. I disagree. He was a decent enough utility player with a 760 Ops in 2021.He had an awful year last but overall was a decent ballplayer. I always root for a guy like that who works his tail off just to make it and stick in the MLB. Not everyone on the roster can be the most talented. No team can afford that.
  12. The point of dialing it down would be to improve the inconsistent command. If the command doesn't improve there is no point in decreasing the velocity. He'll find out once the season starts. I think we'll see all velocity decrease with the decreased time between pitches. Only a few will be able to maintain it.
  13. If he's not then he'll have to ramp it up.
  14. Taking some off for better control? He has had better command today then I've seen in awhile.
  15. Burger the1B to open the season?
  16. Congratulations! Always satisfying as a coach to see them doing well.
  17. Agreed.
  18. That usually shows up as damage and at least discomfort. Possible though. I'm sure not in favor of the short arm action he used
  19. Possible, but I think his motion would be much different if he was constantly in pain.
  20. Still think it's more the lack of sticky stuff.
  21. You're welcome.
  22. It wasn't because the previous surgery went wrong. They probably saw the damage and did the meniscal surgery to see if he could play with just that removed. When he couldn't, they tried a second surgery that was a longer rehab but still gave him a fair shot at playing again. This is the last thing they can do before a knee replacement to help the cartilage but really decreased the chance he'll play again. It's possible but the chances really decreased.
  23. The bone bruise will decrease the blood flow to the deep layers of the articular cartilage. It won't heal and could have lead to the need for the transplant if it's the articular cartilage.
  24. It's also possible that the meniscus was damaged so badly that they had to remove too much and he couldn't play with it. So they are doing a true meniscal transplant from a cadaver. Those are more rare though.
