  1. Not due to this injury but he seems to one of those guys that always has issues. Similar to Robert.
  2. After reading about the latest muscle injuries and Engels comments I think the injuries are from what the exercise field refers to as the SAID principle. Specific Adaptations to Imposed Demands. In other words nothing really gets you ready to play baseball other than playing baseball. We've always known this in running. We knew it was unique and you need to run to get your body to run. You can to other thing to prepare the body bit you need to run. We've never thought baseball was that specific as we see running to first base is just running. But coming out of the box and stretching to first look to be specific activities that need the adaptations. Anyway just thought I would share some discussions we've been having in the medical field about all of these injuries.
  3. Doesn't mean people shouldn't be held accountable for what they say.
  4. Breaking news! Water is wet! Every team will browse the trade market in one way or another.
  5. It would be next year so they will find out the rest of this year.
  6. TLR has been doing that and posters complain about it
  7. It means the tear is bad enough that they don't think the ends are close enough that they'll heal together. As I said earlier the proximal attachment is a bad area for a tear as it hurts all of the hamstrings and there is no chance compensation.
  8. They will return. How effective they are without playing for months is a different story.
  9. September is probably the absolute best case, if they don't do surgery.
  10. Definitely need to add more dynamic flexibility activities.
  11. Ouch. This means it's the common origin of all the hamstrings it's a tougher rehab than Engle. Explains the conservative nature of going straight to the 60 day IL

Traveling down I80 in Iowa. All of the drive through at the fast food restaurants were 10 deep and not moving. One McDonald's had a sign that said 14 and 15 year Olds are encouraged to apply. Didn't know employees were that hard to find. Also didn't realize that was even legal.

  14. Very true. Most are somewhere between 2-8 weeks.
  15. They could treat him like Kopech this year.
  16. Paulaner is excellent. Hacker-Pschorr is my go to.
  17. Agreed. Not an IPA fan. I prefer the less bitter lower IBU beers like heifeweiss. Nothing better than a good chewy heifeweiss.
  18. That's true. I should have other examples of predictive ones not wRC+.
  19. I think the hitters are making their own problems as well. The launch angle trend is really decreasing the offense from an action point of view. It much easier for a pitcher to strike out a hitter when they are increasing the launch angle and swining for the fences on every pitch. If they didn't do this they could get on top of a high fastball much easier.
  20. I think Rodon will need more time off than a 6 man rotation to save innings for the post season. It will just depend how the next 2 months plays out. He has pitched more this year consistently than he ever has. Odds are he will go through a dead arm period.
  21. That is a decision next year. Do they treat him like Kopech this year or send him down to stretch out . Either way he should be in the 100-120 range next year.
  22. I would agree with Bummer. In the early high leverage situations a better pitcher should be there. I would save Hendricks though. It's not so much for the save stat as it is the mentality.
  23. Agreed. Just different people approach it differently. I disagree with your approach But it's fine. The ninth inning in a win is always the highest leverage as it been shown time and again that many good pitchers don't have the mentality for it. It takes a special mindset to do it in a regular basis.
