  1. Yes. He hasn't pitched in real games in 2 1/2 years. A contending team does not want him to get back into the routine of starting at thr MLB level.
  2. No doubt. 3 is enough and that's assuming cease and Kopech make no significant developments. Other wise they are at least 4 deep
  3. I agree. It's their job to make the call. Just make it.
  4. This is how we disagree on all in. In poker all in is not putting yourself to be in good position for the next 3-5 hands. Its putting ALL of your chips in to win in one hand. Only one. It means that all of your chips, every single one you have is on the table right now. So if the definition of all in is that they are positioning themselves for a 5 year run, then I would agree. However that definition just doesnt make sense.
  5. The interesting part is that this isn't right after his UCL reconstruction. He took last year off so it is much longer post surgery than another pitcher. He may very well not go through all of the issues of pitchers coming back 9 -12 months post surgery. By his time-line he could have pitched in the MLB at the end of the 2019 season. However they decided to hold him out and he only pitched in the Fall instructional league.
  6. I continue to disagree. Maybe we differ on the definition of all in. All in means they are giving everything for this one shot. They are betting everything for right now. And this just isn't the case. They are refusing to include certain prospects in trades because they are protecting the future. Thats is not an all in mentality. They are trying to win this year by trading one yes one prospect. But not sacrificing the future by trading much more.
  7. Thats what the entire article is about.
  8. If at first you don't suceed.......
  9. You can't deny that they are one of only a few active teams so far this off season.
  10. Agreed. Not a good situation for it.
  11. I think there were just trying to keep people from b****ing so much but it didn't work. ?
  12. Chiefs offense looks like the bears without mahomes. Trubiskey and files can and have thrown end zone picks.
  13. You did this on purpose knowing what the reactions would be. And I applaud you for it. ????
  14. I would disagree. You may think it thr contrary but the entire actions of the Sox by refusing to trade the top prospects shows they are not all in. Going for it as you state here is not the same as bring all in as you were discussing earlier. I would agree they are going for it. They are trying to win. But they are not all in. That implies sacrificing everything to win now. Their actions do not support this.
  15. I think they will go with what you are saying. They will get someone of the Q, Richard's, Walker ilk.
  16. Even with the awful typing skills? Yeeesh that is a bad one.
  17. I would agree with thus. They just don't need a Bauer type for what it would cost this team with where we usually see their budget.
  18. I would say it would be nice to have one more but not a need. I'm happy with Giolito, keuchal, Lynn and cease for the top 4. The 5th starter will get skipped regularly especially early in the season. That is a pretty good staff especially with the pen they've built.
  19. Yes you do. They tradided one if their promising starters, probably their 4th best one, to improve their chances thus year. If they trade multiple prospects and start to empty the farm, that is all in. Trading Dunning who I liked and is a good prospect is not all in. He is not Verlander and scherzer or even a kopexh, Crochet or Kelly for a ceiling.
  20. It's really Lopez+Kopech as kopech would take his place part way through the season. However I agree with the premise. If a innings eater 4-5 type is available without a crazy contract, it would be worth getting.
  21. No doubt. Which is why I prefer not to trade away the stating pitching in the minors. It has the potential to be very good.
  22. It is not an all in season. Its a season where the are taking a shot but also continuing to develop players for the future. Robert and Madrigal are going to have growing pains and Cease will hopefully continue to grow as well as Vaughn, kopech, crochet and steiver all of whom are close to the MLB. Besides you said another failure that we are used to from thr FO. I just pointed out that I'm not used to failure from the FO as they've had some offseasons recently that I wouldn't call failures.
  23. Just because it didn't work doesn't mean it wasn't worth the shot. I agree it didn't work bit it wasn't a long term issue as the players were gone the next year.
