  1. What a bunch of idiot coaches in Detroit. The have to be the worst staff to keep a pitcher in when he was getting tired.
  2. Mize looking tired. Everything up and getting under the ball.
  3. agreed. This is better for the future starts of Dunning and he looks like a guy that can be really important later in the season.
  4. Here's the dilemma though. How do you increase his stamina and pitch count without pushing him into fatigue. If they continue to take him out when he starts to get tired, they'll never increase the endurance.
  5. I dont know he really seems to be getting under the ball.
  6. yes. he's got that nice trunk flexion follow through. He still spins to the glove side but at least he leans into it.
  7. yep. looks like he needs to build innings before he will go 80-90 pitches. I can see why they were keeping him in Schaumburg
  8. Dunning doesn't throw 95-98, he won't last in this league. /green
  9. There will always be a presence. But regardless of who the "home" station is the cubs will have the greater proportional presence. It just economics. They bring more attention.
  10. For a guy drafted where he was and all the hard work he has obviously put in, he should enjoy every second and how ever he wants.
  11. Maybe they want him to work with the coaches nowthat they think he is healthy and ready
  12. His OPS would have been higher but stopping at second to chug a beer each time lower it a bit.
  13. Too bad he stole it from Sosa. But I still think it's a great one.
  14. Not saying this is the case here because I have no problem with what he did other than ignoring the coach, but you can't equate talent with with knowledge of the game
  15. Welcome to Soxtalk! You'll find that everyone on this site is purely objective and has no emotional mood swing or overreactions.
  16. No. If he wasn't too sore yesterday he can stay in. There is no real way to predict how sore he would be today with a mild strain, zinger or whatever you want to call it. It's not really an injury but you don't want to continue to run him out there being sore. So you just see how he feels each day. I bet he spent time after the game in the ice bath.
  17. Not necessarily. Many time the muscle soreness is worse the next day. It will be based purely on symptoms today.
  18. Need to have durability and stamina as well. He didn't show it college nor has he shown it in pro ball.
  19. Day game tomorrow with Giolito. Renteria usually doesn't have the same catcher for a day game after a night game. So if Collins needs to catch one, let McCann catch giolito tomorrow.
  20. When the sox were on the score, they still did a lot of Cubs stuff. The announcers always said it was because they needed to be fair and couldn't cut out the cubs just because they were the Sox station. You can bet it will be the same at ESPN. They will do more sox stuff but will still do a tremendous amount of Cubs. The Cubs just sell ratings better.
