  1. This applies to the entire baseball world, including many of those that are saying the sox are in a good position now.
  2. With the rumor of Harper to the Phillies, this doesn't take a genius to figure out.
  3. It also depends on where he thinks he will be drafted. If no one tells him they are drafting him in the first round, it would benefit him to keep his options open and play MiLB.
  4. Interesting to see what the offer would be then. Maybe the sox did offer 7/210 knowing Manny wouldn't go to Phil and the sox were waiting for Harper to go there and reduce Machado's leverage.
  5. yep. If he is projected first round NFL, take it. It's guaranteed money. In MLB he is only guaranteed the 4 milllion.
  6. There was an article on NFL.com suggesting the cardinals may trade Rosen and take Murray with the #1 pick.
  7. Depends on where he is drafted.
  8. That's not necessarily true. He may just do it as a possible way into trying to do both. Boras would love that. I think Russell Wilson played some MiLB prior to the draft I believe.
  9. Gotcha. My medical mind took it in a different direction. I agree with your point.
  10. A 24/25 is not an increased injury risk. That's prime health. The body and brain are just finishing their development.
  11. I think Rondon could be a valuable utility guy. Vieria could be an interesting BP piece. These are not unequivocal.
  12. The Sox are in the best position to wait it out. Other than the posters here charging the FO with pitchforks if they don't sign one of them, there is no downside for them. They are not seriously competing this year. The other teams are planning on it and need to go to plan B if they don't sign one.
  13. It fair to say but I disagree. Some players just can't adjust. It also fair to worry about switching positions. Same can apply. I worry less about Anderson as he has stated he could play anywhere.
  14. This is my view as well. Sometimes players just can't make the adjustments to MLB pitching.
  15. I think he would have had his difficulty adjusting the the MLB regardless of when he came up, based on his initial success and subsequent inability to adjust.
  16. This is so what a philosophical baseball question but if you thought he was going to be a star after his rookie year, why do you think he was rushed. Maybe he just couldn't make the adjustments at the MLB level. He had initial success at the level.
  17. Could be some others. I'm still betting on no other significant FA signings.
  18. True but the who,e purpose of the rebuild was to use the young players as they come up. Unless they can get 1 or 2 year deals, I wouldn't considerate them significant.
  19. I don't fault the owners for trying to get public financing. It's a great business move. I fault the idiot politicians for giving it to them. The players may not have the skills but they make enough money to hire the lawyers that do as a unionl
  20. Since the Sox are giving him his relatives and friends, are people confident they didn't agree go allow him to stay at SS?
  21. They have all the risk and investment in the team though. Unless the players agree to some CBA tied to revenues, it's their own agreement. Not that I feel for either side as its billionaire against millionaires. Neither should really complain about income. That's way the "unfairness " of this current situation doesn't exist.
