  1. Not to mention the defenses they face this year. Their out of conference schedule includes rams, patriots and Seahawks. That will cause problems for any new offense.
  2. That word is such a poor choice in today's society. I believe you meant impairing their normal body function. ?
  3. I know you're being sarcastic but it may take him 2000 at bats. That is about 3 seasons and he will be 25 at that time. That would be a little early to hit his peak but he could do it.
  4. Could be either. Without being on the inside it's impossible to tell which case it is.
  5. Baseball is a game of adjustment sometimes it's adjusting to the ump. If he calls the strike zone a certain way. He needs to adjust to the zone otherwise he hurts himself and the team. As long as their are human umps, there will be different strike zones.
  6. Again, the focus on won't hurt him as opposed to what's best for his development. Is this really how you want the organization run?
  7. Yes. For the pitchers, this implies that they aren't changing the issues that caused them in the first place. For the hamstrings and such like Garcia, those commonly reoccur during the season because you can't fully rehab them during the season. You can manage it during the season but to truly get it to heal, you need the off season program of balance and strengthening work.
  8. Odds are if its in cast already he won't need surgery it would be non-displaced or will will have had it. I doubt he had surgery this soon however.
  9. Frank Thomas did this as well. He would routinely argue with the umpires, go into the clubhouse, watch the replay and cone back out to yell at the umpires to go watch the replays of how wrong they were.
  10. It would help if he actually used a real follow through to dissipate the forces of the pitch and didn't throw from such a low arm angle.
  11. The league has a sufficient sample size to exploit his tendencies and he hasn't adjusted yet.
  12. Herm is only the secondary person when it comes to the number of injuries. That group is the strength and conditioning group. If the injuries take l9nger to come back from than to normal, that is where Herm and his group is involved the most. You really need to get your facts straight before you malign individuals.
  13. Apparently, not all players reach for every last dollar. Here is part of an article about Jimenez. Sammy Sosa is actually part of why Jimenez signed for $2.8 million with the Cubs, passing up higher bonus offers from the Astros and Rangers. The Cubs were his favorite team because of all the Dominican players who starred at Wrigley Field.
  14. I don't know. I can't think of another case where the team so blatantly kept the player from free agency. It may be worth him leaving depending on the offer of course. I don't think he would leave 50 million on the table but I doubt the Cubs will be 50 million over the next offer. It may be worth 10 million on a 300 million deal. The point is are you willing to take that chance?
  15. For the fences, baby!
  16. Obviously, you don't feel the players have emotions. You can bet Bryant was angered by the tactics. It remains to be seen if there are repercussions. For all you know the repruccsiobs are he will never resign with the team. Is it worth the chance that he won't sign with the team to gain an extra year of control.
  17. Right as I turn it on, he gives up 2 runs. ?
  18. He had more walks than strikeouts. Hopefully, it stays close.
  19. Yes. His profile is anti-today's game of HR or K. Personally, I will enjoy it.
  20. Its not that it will destroy it it's that they may progress faster in the pressure free environment. Too many people look at what won't hurt the the players development as opposed to what is best for their development.
  21. Its not if there is good information from some union insiders about what the primary issues for the next CBA will be. A smart organization will be prepared for that.
  22. I think you may be right. With all the issues with free agency this past winter, I think the union will push real hard for free agency a year earlier somehow. They may even give in on sort of salary structure.
  23. Ray may not have hit as many HR but he had a higher overall slugging%. Today's game is swinging for the fences. Ray probably could have done that too if he didn't care about strikeouts. He struck out roughly half as many times as Moncada has with the walks being roughly the same. Not to say Moncada won't improve but the current comparison is there.
