  1. Don't forget about the promotions news. And predictions of HOF potential or being the worst ever with nothing in between.
  2. No doubt. But since they are in the middle of it there isn't much choice now. This is why JR waited so long to approve this type of plan. The Sox just don't have the revenue to buy very many players. Thus they needed to do it by the rebuild plan. There is no guarantee this will work but it wasn't very successful the other way either.
  3. I do agree that they wont play today. It looks like thunderstorms all afternoon and evening.
  4. I think hes right. The next Sox game will be against the A's on 6/22. ?
  5. Im sure JR enjoyed your letter and appreciated the fact that you confirmed his approved plan of rebuiding is progressing as expected. The fans of every team that tries the rebuilding path has reacted the same and should react this way. I was hoping that with some of the advanced prospects they acquired (lopez, giolito, kopech, jimenez, moncada) that the rebuild would take a shorter period of time than the other and tge Sox would be ready to compete in for a WS in 2020. However, with this awful season this year, they will need the full 5 year plan and wont be ready until 2021.
  6. Will it match Brock for Broglio. By the talk here, it may have already. Right now i would say liriano for escobar was worse.
  7. Smooth mechanics doesnt mean he isnt using the top range of his velocity too often.
  8. This really doesnt make a difference as l0ng as he maintains the flexiblity. As ive said all along its more about not trying trying to throw the ball through a wall consistently.
  9. I dont think he would have the revenue to spend on the pitching he cant develop. He is really good at scouting hitters. Pitching is much tougher.
  10. Renteria was a former White Sox player with no managerial experience?
  11. This is my view. I think the two of them are the opposite of hating each other. They get along well and enjoy jabbing each other. It's like two brothers going at it. Personally, I enjoy it. It makes the broadcast fun and entertaining not dry boring and "professional." Its a game to broadcast. Enjoy it a little, especially when the team is comically as bad as this one.
  12. Not a fan of the towel drill. Encourages poor elbow/wrist mevhanics in my opinion.

Hes had enough time to heal. They wouldnt have him out there if it wasnt 100%. The issue will be the scar tissue in injury site. There always is some and it will make it more likely for him to injure it again. Its not a guarantee but more likely.
  14. I like his follow through much better. They obviously worked on it to decrease stress on his arm. That low 3/4 arm slot is still a little worisome though.
  15. There are guys born in 2000 on the team. ?? Crap Im old.
  16. Welcome to Soxtalk! One thing youll find out here is how forgiving and patient the posters are here.
  17. Zavala being 1 1/2 years older makes the decision. Their production is similar, push the older one.
  18. I'm sure some players believe they are above that. Heck we all have co-workers who believe they are above doing mundane things. Doesn't mean the manager/supervisor should go along with it.
  19. Unfortunateky, few hitters do this anymore. Judge had a 3-2 count bases loaded with 2 outs and took such a hard long swing he almost fell down.
  20. Thats supposed to justify it? The best players dont need to hustle or try?
  21. Why do you keep using this as a negative? It's the proper way to do things regardless of record or team. Maddon did the same with with Baez earlier in the year.
  22. You honestly believe that no one can improve after the age of 23 and 24 career starts?
