QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) Friday the 13th has always been the weakest of the well known horror series, so they can pretty much make him an abomination of his former self and I won't care much. Hell, he was teleporting all over the place in part 8, Jason Takes Manhattan. It couldn't hurt having some running ability. Friday is the BEST! Part 6 is an AMAZING movie.

Getting a Masters is a waste of money. I have an MFA. I know.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 04:43 AM) Last night, I had more fun at the AC/DC concert at the Allstate Arena than I have had at any arena show in years, maybe ever. Way more than I ever expected. I can't wait til this hits LA. Awesome?

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Nov 1, 2008 -> 12:35 PM) The show was insane!!! My first time seeing him too. Wow, he puts so much energy into his performances. He also went off about how Chicago is the murder capital of the nation with many expletives which shocked everyone in the crowd. He gave a moment of silence to Jennifer Hudson and family as well as a little campaigning for Obama. I would rather LupE.N.D. be separate albums than a triple album. Lupe was great at Lollapalooza. Gotta love him.

There's also 3-4 million absentee ballots to be counted.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 02:59 PM) It's called ethics. Which goes out the window when people are tempted with what they really want. Winning is everything. All's fair. -

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 01:28 PM) I'd venture to guess the majority of people on this site would vehemently disagree with that statement You wouldn't want the Sox to win another title even if they were cheating and couldn't be caught? -

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 12:51 PM) Many German's agreed with gassing the Jews. Was that not bad? Did the means justify the end? Not to pipcka fight or take a shot but that is the most idiotic statement i have heard on here in a while, and that includes a boatload from AHB. Maybe you misunderstand me. Do people not compromise their morals in order to get what they want? For example, people are quick to condemn cheating, but if an undetectable drug existed that allowed a Sox player to hit 100 hrs in a season and propel them to another title, wouldn't fans root for this player regardless? That's all I'm saying. Cheating is fine if you agree with it. -

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Nov 4, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) It doesn't matter that he was born on U.S. soil or not, because both his parents were citizens. He would thus be elgible for the presidency regardless of where he was born. ps. Now Obama, he of the fake birth certificate and all, is a totally different story. This is correct. The rest is moot. -

It's only wrong if you don't agree with it. For example, I love the old machine-style way Daley got the vote out for Dems in the past. And you know, Capone and the other gangsters controlled that s*** in the 20s. Means justify ends - if you agree with it. If not, then it's bad. -

I waited in line for an hour and a half - definitely not enough machines almost anywhere. No on 8! -
MSNBC - Olbermann, Matthews & Maddow rule.

I actually know a good deal of R's who aren't voting at all because of Palin. She's a dealbreaker.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 06:24 PM) Somehow, it's always ok for Barack to do whatever the f*** he wants and never get questioned. Sometimes the ends DO justify the means.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 05:47 PM) Just so you know, there is a large hispanic population, that usually votes Democratic, that is for prop 8. It isn't entirely along political party lines as you might believe. I'm hoping they're all illegals and can't vote anyway. f***ing Jesus - he always screws good s*** up.

Godspeed.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) Congratulations. You just missed the point entirely. Oh well. I'm past bipartisanship. The R's need to feel our pain for a change. Sorry if I'm angry but I passed way too many Yes on 8 signs on my way to work this morning. Those people need a rude awakening.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 3, 2008 -> 07:12 AM) Watching everyone from this board all of the way up to Barack Obama himself act just like the people they claim to be different from has pretty much ruined my next four years. Good. Now you know how we feel for a change.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 30, 2008 -> 02:58 PM) I can see how the government might have additional concerns on that one, in particular because of the benefits it extends. On the other hand, I can't figure out how, if that argument has any merit, the Mormon church would be the ones funding this initiative so hard. Wouldn't they want this to pass so that the slippery slope occurs? The Mormons outlawed polygamy in the 1890s. They're just like any other right-wing church now.
-
I also hate the argument that if gay marriage were allowed then polygamy would also be legalized. SO WHAT?! If the people engaged are adults, who cares if three people want to get married together?

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Oct 30, 2008 -> 11:25 AM) If it is anything like Atlanta, it isn't so much the volume of voters (though there are lots of people voting early), but it is moreso the fact that there are so few places to vote early. That makes sense. I'm curious how much time I should allot on Tues to vote here in Hollywood. Also, here's a great quote from the Economist:
