  1. If I have to put up with Berman to see the Sox in the postseason, so be it.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) Wouldn't it be Garland, Contreras, Buehrle and Freddy? Following the theory of a "rotation", you'd think that would be the way it is.

    Thanks folks. This will help immensely.
  4. The Yankees had some old knuckleballer pitch BP to them before the Wakefield game last weekend.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) Despite drinking tons of water all day.. I still feel totally dehydrated and disoriented. Another beer will fix that.. Beer fixes everything.
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 04:38 AM) Well how about a new one then. Eight out of the last nine times the red sox were on the brink of elimination they have won. Cool. We can shoot down another one.
  7. QUOTE(SS Gload @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) my friend is a boston red sox "fan", a.k.a. he is just a typical fair weather fan. He mentioned on sportscenter they said the red sox have won all of their next games in the playoffs after a big loss. So much for that theory.
  8. QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:42 PM) I've been tolerating him this series so far and his Red Sox asslicking....but when the ball went between Graffs legs and he yells, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......." that's when I was pretty much at the end of my rope with him. I've actually enjoyed Sutcliffe and Piazza...they've added some pretty good insight. Does anybody else think that Piazza looks like he's 15 when they put the camera on all three of them. He kinda remind me of Ron Santo when he did that. Which says a lot about where his loyalties are.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:58 AM) Ozzie is all about defining roles and giving his players confidence to finish and support & divert attention away from players that struggle. HE MUST GET MAJOR KUDOS for developing this managerial pyschology. remember Jerry Manuel? taking pitchers out to protect em? kicking dirt on the umpire when we were either 9 runs ahead or behind? sitting in the dugout when he needed to charge out? he had no clue on the pysch part of managing. KW & OZZIE have proven themselves to me to be TRUE whitesox! I'm glad there is someone besides me that realizes what a masterful job Ozzie did this year.
  10. Boston gets this dirtbag and we get Mariotti. No wonder BoSox fans think their s*** don't stink.
  11. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) I really think Joe's backk must be wrose than is thought. That might explain the bouncing of balls to first and he just didn't seem to get down enough on Damon's hit. As far as Mark goes, man was the gamethread just brutal on him. I'm glad he stepped it up and a lot of people have happily eaten their crow tonight as we all look forward with tons of anticipation to Friday afternoon. It will hopefully be much different than our last Firday afternoon Game Three and Freddy Garcia's job is to make sure that doesn't happen That is why I stay out of the game threads. There is no excuse for that s***, imho. Mark Buehrle has given the Sox the best he can for 5 solid seasons, and because he gives up a few runs to great hitting team, he gets kicked around like day old dogs***. It's really f***ing idiotic.
  12. I don't know if I'm dreaming or not. If I am dreaming, whoever wakes me up is going get their ass kicked big time. GO WHITE SOX!!!

    I'm always on the look out for acoustic versions of rock classics. Of course, I've the "easy to find" ones like Clapton's "Layla". If anyone has any available, I'd sure appreciate any help in collecting these that I can get.
  14. QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) 10 - 4! That is so yesterday.
  15. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) Look at the videos above. But here are some: Steam: "Hey, Hey Goodbye" AC/DC: "Thunderstruck" Blues Brothers: "Sweet Home Chicago" Two other pretty good versions of Sweet Home Chicago ... Foghat and Eric Clapton

    QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) I am totally horse today.. but well worth it. I'm sure tonight will be the same. I'm gonna be spent tomorrow. :sleep Enjoy it, Steff. It had to be great to be there yesterday.

    QUOTE(R.J. @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) Yesterday's game was by far the most exciting and fulfilling fan experience I've ever had. Does anyone have a sound file or video of the Clement exit? That moment was surreal... it couldn't have been better if it had been rehearsed for weeks. ESPN cut to a commercial, of course.
  18. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) Let me clarify what I said in reference to this game deciding the series. This is a must win for Boston. If they don't win tonight they will likely get swept. They do not have the pitching to come from behind 0-2 & 0-3 like previous years. It's not a must win for the ChiSox because they DO HAVE the offense to scratch out wins with good pitching. But it is equally important in that a win tonight guarantees Bos vs Contreras on Sun @ the Cell. Regardless of what happens in Bos it will be very hard to diminish the momentum the ChiSox will have going into that game following Tues rout. If we lose tonight then pschologically every Red Sox player can go to Boston thinking they have good enough matchups to end it in 4 & avoid having to go back to ChiSox & face Contreras again. That's a HUGE momentum & pschological shift for the World Series Champions. Ok. Agreed.
  19. I concur. This thing is a long way from over.
  20. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 11:03 AM) I don't think you can beat Wells mentally. Mind tricks don't work for him. You just have to hope he isn't on his game, and then take advantage of that. Or you wear him down. He's too much like a Maddux, you can't give him a personal vendetta, because he'll kill you. Pissing him off may be just the thing to do.
  21. Well, Redandwhite was right about one thing ... Clement wasn't half as "good" as he's been in the second half.
  22. QUOTE(Bias @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) Hold up man, I wouldn't make out with him! Just spill champagne on him and all that......... And you call yourself a Sox fan?
  23. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) As an eternal pessimist I'm worried about two things heading into this game: (1) Mark Buehrle has an ERA over 6.00 against the Red Sox in each of the past two seasons, and (2) the Sox historically inept offense following a double-digit scoring performance. Something to make you feel better ...
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 08:36 AM) Interesting. Very interesting. Even more fun would be to have Ozzie go out and have him checked out. That's exactly what Ozzie should do. Pick his spot and get inside his head. Tell the umpire, where Wells can hear, to watch his actions for anything suspicious.
  25. QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 5, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) I'm tired of you bad-mouthing everything around here. Ban him! Get over it!
