QUOTE(JoshPR @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) There's no choice if the yanks are in. AND SPARE ME OF MCCARVER PLEASE! Unless, of course, we are playing the Yankees.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Sep 30, 2005 -> 03:03 AM) I really don't want to hear any bulls*** about we actually "tied" for the best record with Cleveland. I know all about the series total and all...but I'd feel alot better if we at least got one W there (as moot as it might seem). Plus...I don't want to go into the playoffs on a "losing" note...and I'm sure nobody else does either. The good thing is...WE'RE IN though. A good friend of mine is an Indians fan...and I know he'd whine all f***in winter about it. You need new friends. Just kidding. I agree with you. We need to keep the recent surge going.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) believe in the rally crede. Things have gone well since it's inception. I'm not changing a thing.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) It'd be neat to see Joe come out to play 3rd to finish off the game. That almost didn't work out so good.

I'd like to knock the Tribe out of it, too. Let Boston and the Yankees beat each others brains in and burn up their pitching, and then we'll move in and stomp the s*** out of the loser.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX DIVISION WINNER!!!!
YASNY replied to AddisonStSox's topic in 2005 Season in Review
It was pleasure to read this thread. A whole bunch of happy Sox fans. Correction: A whole bunch of happy fans of the 2005 CENTRAL DIVISION CHAMPION CHICAGO WHITE SOX!!!!!! -
HELL YA!!!!!!!

This is the one we've been waiting for.

Strap it down folks. 15 minutes to game time.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 07:23 AM) If Perot ran for president today, he'd win in a landslide. Scary thought, isn't it? The reason is because he's no-nonsense. Problem is, the "new rules" set by congress will not allow for ANY outside party to ever win unless you're Bill Gates, because you can't get any government money. Here's a big to Congress for that. Bastards. Not too scary. I voted for him. Twice.

That sounds about right to me.

QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) At the moment, I think Cleveland is choking more than Chicago Great win, Sox. (Why does it always have to be about "choking?" Cleveland has had a hellacious team since the all star break and we had a hellacious team the first half. Is it all about simply choking? I vote that it's baseball, the wildest sport there is, not choking. I couldn't agree more!

QUOTE(rangercal @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:50 AM) I think overall, Ozzie has done a great job. I could give a s*** what you think of my baseball knowledge. Well said.
-
QUOTE(Commander Fisk @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) I know what the Sox should do: sign the great Herbert Perry. Talk about a fat piece of crap! You can't seriously diss PK and and be a Herbert Perry fan. Quite frankly, your affinity for Herbert Perry is a little scary. Are you on meds? Easy there, Hoss. That is bordering on a personal attack. Let it end here and now!

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) And i think those that think ozzie is a good game manager don't understand the game of basebal very well. And if you want to talk forest-trees: Lou Piniella. I understand the game of baseball quite well, thank you.
-
Contreras-Buehrle-Garcia-Garland Contreras has the hot hand. Give him the ball. Buehrle has been very good at home. Garcia has been much better on the raod than at home. Garland gets his turn in game 4.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) We win tomorrow and we win the division yas. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say my head hurts from all the possible scenarios and tie breakers but we win tomorrow and the central is ours. Got ya.
-
For the record, I think those you that think Ozzie has sucked as a manager this year can't see the forest for the trees. I'm not going to argue with anyone about this. You all have your opinions and I have mine. I don't believe I can convince any of you otherwise, and I know I'm not going to change my mind.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 28, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) I don't think Ozzie's handling of the offense has been the main gripe. It's been his use of the bullpen and starters and bringing in the wrong guy in crucial situations etc. You mean the same pitching staff that has carried the Sox to the brink of a division title?
-
QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) actually no...i would love the rules explanation. We win our magic number is still 1, help I don't believe we clinch the division with just a win. Of course, if it happens against Cleveland this weekend, then that's a different story.
-
I give Ozzie and KW equal credit for the success of this team. They worked together to the extent that they have been on the same page all year, yet each did their respective individual jobs as well.
-
From what I have been led to believe in various articles/columns on the net, that if Sunday is a "must win" game for the Sox, then El Duque would get the start over BMac. I don't agree with it, but that should give you an idea as to which one will end up on the post season roster.
-
QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Sep 29, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) ok,so if the sox win tomorrow, the win the central. I do not understand, and would love the rules in writing. Anyone have some material for me. The team that wins the most games over the course of a 162 game season will be declared the division champion. Hope that helps.
-
Congrats Joe! .... Now, where's my cigar?
-
I'm certainly not assuming we are in, yet. Once it's mathematically clinched, then it's time to celebrate. So, let's win this f***ing thing! Where have I heard that before?
